The Browns Point Lighthouse is a little 4 acre green space that allows you to get some great nature and industrial watching in! It's close to the port so there's a lot of activity going on, but at the same time it's very quiet and it's a great place to just find a place to sit and chill for awhile. If you come on a Saturday afternoon there are free tours available and you're allowed to go inside of the buildings. The only downside is the parking. The lot is like 10 spaces and it's pretty tight. The houses around the park have blocked things off to prevent street parking. Best bet? There's another park fairly close by with a good amount of parking. It's a little way to walk, but it's going to be the only realistic option if the official lot is full.

it's a park, it's got a lighthouse, and it's on Brown's Point! perfect!! exactly as advertised and that's something rare these days. came down from the high desert on a cold and blowy day with a heavy mist hanging around trying to quench the sun. I dressed for weather but just not this particular weather, I was hoping for something more sunnier with a warm soft breeze from the southeast, you know, exactly the sort of thing that never happens on the sound. so I basically needed a good hat with a back-flap but we're on the brink of the 21st-and-a-half century so don't bate your breath. the park is kinda nice though with interesting parking up there and access to the waters down here with a large lawn and a small lighthouse in between. if you don't want too much nature on you there's a paved path down to some benches set in concrete at the water's edge where you can get sprayed with different nature.

This place is gorgeous! Beautiful during the day and magical at night! Peaceful and just stunning views.

Beautiful on a summer day! Parking can be sparse on a busy day and it can be hard to find street parking too. There aren't many trees, so finding a shady spot can be hard too. Bring a blanket, chairs and maybe even a pop up tent to enjoy your day!

Really cool place. Beautiful views and sunsets especially in the evening time. This is the photosphere of the Browns Point Lighthouse I made - https://truevirtualtours.com/panorama/31715/360view

I was trying to venture out and see more of local parks in my area and I decided to take a quick trip to Browns Point. It's not a very big park by any means and there are only about 6 parking spaces. The adjacent lot is a private lot so your can't park over there. Even though the park is somewhat small, you can walk along the coastline which makes it seem bigger. I did like that this park was not busy and even though the lighthouse is enclosed in a fence with barbed wire on it with video surveillance, you can still get a good view of a little piece of Tacoma history. The light house doesn't appear to be working anymore and has long since been retired. The lighthouse keeper's house nearby is still open to the public. In fact, some of the historical society ladies were there pruning and gardening and keeping the place up while I was there. It is available to be rented as well. The view here is amazing though and sooo quiet and peaceful. It's a perfect place to relax. There are doggie doo bags & a little bit of space for your dogs to roam, so bring your dogs. Also there is signage that seals and sea lions may sometimes grace you with their presence on the coast, so be sure and give them the space they need and don't harass them. The only "service" on site is a single port-a-potty, so do your doo before you come if you don't fancy poppin a poo in the Honey Bucket.

This is a great place to spend a sunny afternoon or even noom for picnic The scenery is beautiful, great pictures opportunity, lots of people with dogs, great place to play freezbe, there is also lots of lose tree branches, and sea glass too. The lighthouse is small, but it has its little history. There is a house museum but is currently closed, I believe ot opens again in April.

A quiet, quaint little park/beach. Beautiful views of Puget Sound and interesting history about the (not very attractive) light house and Tacoma. The signs say tours are available on some Saturday's and apparently you can rent the caretaker's house. Rocky beach strip during low tide.

The park features an old victorian home that's preserved as a museum. It's open on Saturdays, not sure if there is a fee or not, I have yet to check it out. It's adorable and well kept with a flourishing garden of flowers adorning it. The light house is on the edge of land close to the water. It's surrounded by a fence and barbed wire to keep vandals off. Kind of unsightly, it was built in the late 1920's so it has the plain "art deco" shape. It's been boarded up and reprinted numerous times. The park has a lot of open grass. A good place to sun bathe in the summer, there is minimal shade. The view of tacoma is excellent. You can see all of Ruston way. The parking is bad, especially for fishing season. Finding the park is tricky, too. It feels like winding down alley ways and residential driveways trying to park.

Hidden on the tip of Tacoma and federal way this area was a little tricky to get too. We took a drive and felt like we were somewhere in the east, it seemed very peaceful and cool. The lighthouse was more of a broken light house which was kind of weird. We did enjoy the nice scenery and nice little picnic tables. We got some lunch and ate it there. This area is tucked in the back of other homes and parking is limited. No bathroom that I've saw on site. There's a really cool home nestled in the middle that you could rent for family or what not but it seems spooky for me

Great for venues! Beautiful views overall. I had a great time here every time. May be a tad dangerous for kids depending how you feel.

The playground is split into an older kids side and a younger kids side, with 1 entry (and a fence surrounding). There are portapotties at the park and a real restroom a small walk down the path. Park is great for kids to use their imaginations and play, which is so much fun. Great spot to bring a ball and play catch or picnic to sit and relax or bikes! Can get hot - wear sunscreen if the weather is nice. Friends said it's also fun to bring bikes or a stroller and hit up the cafe (a bit of distance from the playground) and have some sweet potato fries.

My kids love coming here to play, scooter and walk around on the paved trails surrounding the playground. The playground is divided with an area for toddlers (2-5) and older kids. Spacious parking lot and picnic tables as well around. Restrooms are nearby as well - they are well maintained and nice as far as public park restrooms go (heated in the fall/winter time). There is also a little library here too. I enjoy coming here every time!

At the heart of it all is the Seymour Conservatory, a Victorian-style glasshouse that looks like it belongs in a storybook. Inside, you'll find a lush collection of tropical plants, seasonal floral displays, and even quirky additions like cacti and Golden Dart Frogs (fun fact: in the wild, they're considered the most poisonous frogs on Earth, but here they're safe since their diet is different). Beyond the conservatory, the park has a beautiful lily pond, fountains, open lawns perfect for picnics, and plenty of walking paths. It's also very family-friendly with playgrounds and lots of space to run around. Wright Park has that perfect mix of history, nature, and community. Whether you're here to stroll among the century-old trees, relax by the pond, or pop into the conservatory, it's easily one of Tacoma's most picturesque hidden gems. Best part? The parking lot shares space with a police substation so it feels really safe and everything seems really clean and nicely upkept. The park appears much larger on the map than I have checked out and appears to include a skate park as well. There are tables available to enjoy a picnic, or to simply sit while you watch children enjoy the playground. I did find the spray area to be a little underwhelming, but the playground equipment seemed newer and unique. The pool is a very good reason to come to this location. They are currently doing limited sessions due to lifeguard shortage, but its only 7$ for 2 hours. Best of all the wave pool is heated and feels amazing on a hot day. There are some water squirting things and one of those large buckets that dump water on everyone's heads. Lifejackets are available for use. On the day I visited there was plenty of room for everyone to occupy a table or lounger. It appears that the grassy hill next to the wave pool is a good location to set up and bring your own chairs, blankets, etc. There's a 1 ft wading pool that I mistook for a hot tub and was a little disappointed by, but likely great for smaller children. I also really liked that they have children complete swim tests and give them a bracelet to tell others what areas of the pool they are allowed to be in. My 7 yr old nephew insisted he could swim, but it was nice to have someone official reinforce that he needed to stay with adults or before a certain point.
