The fishermen needs to dispose of their waste!!

I frequently stop by Dash Point Beach park and beach, so I gotta say this is my go to picnic/destress spot. There are six benches, four picnic tables underneath a shed with an extra table left of the gender neutral bathrooms. A mini play ground plus a swing set. The gate opens from six AM to half hour after sunset which is great. There is a limited amount of parking when it is fishing/crabbing season. Most mornings the parking lot is empty. Occasionaly the litter control is poor with the excessive beer bottles, rope and glass shards on the beach. The last time I have seen a pretty bad case was in the summer. I do see a lot of dogs off leashes when Im there skipping rocks from seven to eight AM, but there are a lot of dog walkers that come to this spot anyways. I love this place and have made a lot of memories here.

Dash Point is a great place to go and reflect on life and/or sit and relax. Situated right next to the parking lot is a small playground. Great place to push the kids on the swings and enjoy some fresh Pacific Northwest ocean air. If you want to take a walk, you can only go a short distance until you hit private property. Some people come here to fish at the end of the pier. In the summer, it's a great spot to bath in the sun in peace without a lot of people near by. Definitely a place where you feel like you're getting away from the world -- hence it being a good place to meditate, reflect and enjoy!

We visited the park for a little breath of fresh air. Didn't know what to expect since sun down was fast approaching however we arrived with perfect timing & on a day were it wasn't too busy/crowded! The park has lots to offer; play area for the children including a public swing set & small boat (slides), a few benches to sit along the park & a total of five picnic tables (four under a covered cottage & one near a tree). There is also a large dock which is perfect for capturing that breath taking sunset photo, fishing or even crabbing!! The park is also perfect if it's low-tide providing a more spacious & perfect spot to skip rocks or look at unique seashells with the children. More importantly there are public bathrooms open to use, sadly though not the best smelling! Thankfully it seemed a bit maintained seeing there wasn't much mess on the floor & had a restock of toilet paper. Rating four stars if they could do something a bit more about the lingering odor. Oh & there was no more hand soap in the dispensers, which was also a bummer! Parking lot on the other hand is small but for a non-busy day had lots to offer as people came & gone. Oh, there's also a restaurant nearby however was closed during our visit! Overall, we'd definitely visit again in the near future!!

The playground is split into an older kids side and a younger kids side, with 1 entry (and a fence surrounding). Visibility isn't perfect but the single entry point is great if you want to stand in the middle to keep an eye on kiddos. Great spot for play dates (come with a coffee!). There are portapotties at the park and a real restroom a small walk down the path. Park is great for kids to use their imaginations and play, which is so much fun. Great spot to bring a ball and play catch or picnic to sit and relax or bikes! Can get hot - wear sunscreen if the weather is nice. Friends said it's also fun to bring bikes or a stroller and hit up the cafe (a bit of distance from the playground) and have some sweet potato fries.

My kids love coming here to play, scooter and walk around on the paved trails surrounding the playground. The playground is divided with an area for toddlers (2-5) and older kids. Spacious parking lot and picnic tables as well around. Restrooms are nearby as well - they are well maintained and nice as far as public park restrooms go (heated in the fall/winter time). There is also a little library here too. I enjoy coming here every time!

The moment you step in, you're surrounded by towering, hundred-year-old trees from all over the world that give the park a magical, shaded atmosphere. It's not just a park, it's also an arboretum, so tree lovers will appreciate the variety and history here. At the heart of it all is the Seymour Conservatory, a Victorian-style glasshouse that looks like it belongs in a storybook. Inside, you'll find a lush collection of tropical plants, seasonal floral displays, and even quirky additions like cacti and Golden Dart Frogs (fun fact: in the wild, they're considered the most poisonous frogs on Earth, but here they're safe since their diet is different). Beyond the conservatory, the park has a beautiful lily pond, fountains, open lawns perfect for picnics, and plenty of walking paths. It's also very family-friendly with playgrounds and lots of space to run around. Wright Park has that perfect mix of history, nature, and community. Whether you're here to stroll among the century-old trees, relax by the pond, or pop into the conservatory, it's easily one of Tacoma's most picturesque hidden gems. Best part? Admission is free, with a donation box available if you'd like to support it.

There are a multitude of trees providing shade and many have signs showing when they were first planted, which provides some interesting history of this area. The parking lot shares space with a police substation so it feels really safe and everything seems really clean and nicely upkept. The park appears much larger on the map than I have checked out and appears to include a skate park as well. There are tables available to enjoy a picnic, or to simply sit while you watch children enjoy the playground. I did find the spray area to be a little underwhelming, but the playground equipment seemed newer and unique. The pool is a very good reason to come to this location. They are currently doing limited sessions due to lifeguard shortage, but its only 7$ for 2 hours. Best of all the wave pool is heated and feels amazing on a hot day. There are some water squirting things and one of those large buckets that dump water on everyone's heads. Lifejackets are available for use. On the day I visited there was plenty of room for everyone to occupy a table or lounger. It appears that the grassy hill next to the wave pool is a good location to set up and bring your own chairs, blankets, etc. There's a 1 ft wading pool that I mistook for a hot tub and was a little disappointed by, but likely great for smaller children. I also really liked that they have children complete swim tests and give them a bracelet to tell others what areas of the pool they are allowed to be in. My 7 yr old nephew insisted he could swim, but it was nice to have someone official reinforce that he needed to stay with adults or before a certain point.
