I haven't seen a dog fight or aggressive dog in the time I've been going. The restroom is clean and open year-round. The do turn off the water inside the dog park so we usually bring some.

What's nice is that they have lit courts until 11:15pm, which is a rarity outside of Seattle. While Liberty is a fairly well-maintained park, you definitely want to watch your back, especially at night. I've seen more than my fill of drunkards, tweakers, homeless, etc. and a man walking around with a large knife... Like the rest of downtown Renton, it is unfortunately not the safest of areas. If you are looking to play competitive pickleball, the community of pickleball players here after 4pm are fairly high-level and many of them play in local pickleball tournaments. Overall: 3/5 for park maintenance, 1/5 for park safety

There's also wide open fields that we chase each other at, kicking the soccer ball. When my hubs feels up to it he skateboards and also shoots some hoops while our son watches. This park was in the news a few months back for a shooting and it really hit hard because we could've been here that day and who knows what would've happened. The park is next to Green River and a residential apartment complex. I don't come here without my hubs which is a shame because it has all the makings of a really good neighborhood park but I dont feel safe without him.
