On the rare occasion the miniature dinosaur descendants were friendly. Do not feed the ducks. Also, stop letting your offspring harass them.

This park is mostly for the children, but it is right next to the river, so you can see a full range of characters here on any given day. Mostly it is people walking dogs or children to get some exercise, but you will also find a random lady screaming at everyone about mostly nothing. On another occasion, some youngsters making out next to the river while some older gentlemen enjoy a smoke on the opposite bank. This park is at a crossroads in Renton. The area does stay pretty clean, and overall people don't loiter here, which is nice. They are just around the corner on another street if you are missing some loitering action. Just keep walking. You will find them. The river next to this park is great to experience nature in a limited form. Birds, including eagles, will often be seen fishing for a snack, but you can almost always count on some ducks to keep you company here. Lots of other things to do around here, so the small size of the park is compensated by the central location of Renton's best places.

This 1.2 acre park is located north of downtown Renton. It's location along the Cedar River and the Cedar River Trail attracts many visitors. The playground, installed in 2006, has a riverine theme. Toddlers will be surprised at some of the playground characters they will encounter. A large wooden pergola boasts one of the largest wisteria vines in Renton. I so enjoyed being at the park with the kids... at least they're not destroying my house. lol Amenities: * Playground * Restrooms * Picnic tables * Benches

If you've been to one park you've been to them all, right? I don't think this statement is true when it comes to Jones Park. I love parks. Particularly clean and family-friendly ones! There's a huge field for summer sports, a skatepark, and a playground for kids. The park also features a public library. Nearby there is a nice trail and dog park so there's really nothing you can't do if you come down to Jones Park for a family trip. Keep all your money in your pocket and bring down some food for a picnic and make an entire day's trip out of coming down to Jones Park. I like to come down to the park for an exercise with a friend as there is also a community center nearby with a gym and a basketball court. We recently visited Jones Park for the Renton River Days festival which lasts all weekend long and it's great time for the family.

The playground was well-suited for a range of ages, with swings, a see-saw, and even a small climbing wall to keep them entertained. There was plenty of open grass for families to lay out picnic blankets, and a covered area that was bustling with what looked like a birthday party or community event. The park also has solid amenities like tennis courts, a volleyball area, and a basketball court for older kids and adults. I especially enjoyed the shaded walking paths, which offered a nice break from the sun. The one downside was the bathroom. It was in poor condition and definitely could use some upkeep. Parking was available but packed due to the nice weather, so we had to park a short walk away. JY review.

Terrific park in Renton, was looking for a quick morning walk on a chilly weekend in November and…read morefound this conveniently located next to Lake Washington, with beautiful views of the water and a walking/running trail along the edge of the lake. Parking is plentiful and free (though coming from NYC parking looks plentiful almost everywhere in the suburbs), in parking lots along the park driving route curving around the water. There are multiple facilities on the water and off. On and along the water--a boat docking marina, multiple docks, fishing pier, a sandy beach with roped-in swimming area, nature area with info placards describing the surroundings and recent history of the park, and a pier extension with gazebo over the water. On the park grounds--a small water recreational boat storage with canoes, playground, picnic areas with running water and BBQ pits, and aforementioned walking trails. As others have mentioned a fair number of Canada geese and ducks reside in the area so best to follow the advisements posted and NOT feed them unless you want more goose/duck poop than there already is on the park premises. Otherwise lovely park and I would come back for a stroll in warmer months!
