Which was perfect for exploring the beach. Fun to see all the shells and things that are normally under water. Please tu of picnic areas for larger groups too. The creek trail was closed from one side but when exploring discovered a fallen tree. Easily able to navigate over the log. See my photo. I'm sure at high tide the beach area decreases but it's all beautiful. The creek trail is short. Under two miles. Discovery pass required. Get out there! Enjoy your life! SYOY!

We arrived at 1:00 PM and found the last parking space available at the end of the furthest parking lot area. Took our time taking a stroll to the event, where the food vendors were on the grassy area. Saw some Laotian food - Hmong Sausage with Sticky Rice, Chicken Wings, Whole Chicken, Papaya Salad, Fried Banana, also saw that they had Thai Iced Tea, Thai Iced Coffee, Lemonade flavors, Sandwiches, and Grilled Pork. We walked to the other side where they had a stage where they were having some dancing, live music and speeches. In addition, there were accessories, and clothing/apparel vendors who were lined up on the other side. First part of the Review is for the Cambodian event, which was a 4 out of 5. ------ The Park itself was easy to navigate around. Parking seemed self-explanatory, even though it was fully packed. There were clear signs of what was required of the State Park. You had to enter with a Discovery Pass or a National Park Pass at the Gate/Entrance. Walked around the beach area until the end of the trail where they had Private Property. Took some pictures and scenic videos of the water and scintillating viewpoints. It was a pretty short stroll after eating our lunch. But overall an enjoyable experience. Would like to visit again even without an event going on... Review of the Park - 4 out of 5.

Phillip Arnold Park is a 10 acre park with a baseball field, basketball court, tennis courts, and…read moreplenty of room to play. It's hard to access from the old town because it's on the OTHER (eastern) side of I-405 and you need to take a fly-over. Use google maps or a GPS to find it. The park is a pretty nice neighborhood park, but that only rates it 3+ stars in my book. The 5-star aspect of this park is that it is the jumping off point for some classic, very fun and technical mountain biking. Where are the trails? You could SEE them from I-405 if you were driving south near exit 2 (although it's not convenient to access them from here) . On I-405, if you looked to your east, you would see some high-voltage electrical lines coming down the hill. The trails are on the slope in the unbuildable easement underneath and near these lines. Thank god for the powerlines or some f'ing greedy developer would have developed the crap out of this area years ago. The area might not sound very scenic -- and in a few spots it's not with powerlines crackling overhead -- but mostly it's just trees, slope, and singletrack. You can access the trails by parking at the Phillip Arnold Park parking lot. Ride south for about 1/3 mile on the access road. Look for trails to your right (west). Take any trail you might find or look for the fireroad. Back up in hyeah is the hilarity of Tapeworm, Parasite, Crop Circles and other trails. These trails are wooded, tight, twisting singletracks -- back and forth, up and down -- with obstacles like boardwalks, drops, ramps, teeter totters, fallen logs,. In spots you'll get totally wedged up by crazy and stupid lines -- drop down over a 1/2 dozen tree roots, suddenly make a tight climbing turn, go betwen two trees a handlebar's width apart and then jump over a log. In other newly developed parts (mostly to the southern end) you can find some trails with bermed turns, whoo-dee-doos, and a jump or two. Extra points if you can find "Declan's Death Ride". The whole complex is fairly rideable in winter as the area drains well, but be careful not to tear up the trails when they're wet and muddy. In the summer (especially in overgrown areas) you will want to ride with a patch kit and/or Mr. Tuffy's in your tires -- lots of blackberry thorns on the trail. These are classic east-side trails -- enjoy them safely and watch for other riders. Stop at Naan 'n Curry in downtown Renton on your way home, have some delicious curry and say "hi" to Uncle Mike. There is also a pavilion for events, which we utilized during our picnic. The park is beautiful, well-maintained, and in a tucked away spot in Renton - I had no clue this park was here. It is truly a hidden gem.

The broad walk was replaced several years back and is holding up quite well, though a lot of dog owners really suck and don't clean up so watch your step! If you have a dog and forgot your poo bag they are provided (please use them!!) There's a cheap pay lot right across the street (card payments only) as well as some free street parking. The best time to come is on Saturday when the MaST aquarium is open!

It was kind of a gloomy day, so fish weren't biting as often. About 2 hours later, we had caught 3 Trouts each. Getting the next 2 took a while longer, as I caught mine an hour and a half later to get my limit of 5. Dunno what factors caused the fish not to bite that regularly, but it was definitely a very slow day/evening fishing on the shore. Caught a couple of big ones, though. Nice sized fish...

I've been to Lake Wilderness many times over the years for family get togethers, and a graduation…read moreparty brought me here again yesterday! The space here is huge and there's lots to see and do. There's an area with a playground for kids which is camp themed, and there's also different types of sport courts. The bathrooms are clean and well-maintained as well. There's also covered areas that you can rent which have basic grills that you can use for stuff like hotdogs and burgers. The water always seems pretty clean. I haven't swam in it but my siblings and kids have and it always seems fine. They also have boat rentals here which are really cool, and there's a few different types that you can rent. It's a little over $20 an hour but I think it's worth it for sure. It's a great lake and I'm sure we'll be back quite a few times this summer!

This is a great place for a morning run if training for a 5k or half marathon. Heading north from…read morethe park is a great run that is round trip just shy of 3 miles. Running south you can run to Lake Meridian and back which is 10 miles round trip. There are hills and flat areas but what I like is the variety of scenery. There are forest areas and wetland areas and the trail isn't overcrowded. It is fully paved and peaceful. There is usually enough parking but gets more full on sunny days later in the day. A morning run has never been a problem finding parking.
