The best part is you can visit their website and you can check if the water is okay for the kids to play with . There's usually an update regarding if you can swim and such. The only thing I'm worried about is when there is no one there to facilitate the other kids swimming, because I noticed there were lots of kids who goes there without their parents or guardians. The cops do come around for their rounds sometimes, but not all the time . I always have my eyes on my kids because there were sooooooo many people and soo many kids during school break holidays and I can't even imagine summer break. If you want to entertain your kids for hours bring them here and just have a picnic and enjoy the sand with the kids. Don't forget the shovel and bucket though lol.

Nice pier that goes over some of the lake to take in veiws and to fish. Nice swimming area and it was busy with kids occupying the area but I still felt it was too nippy outside to really enjoy the water. The Funland part is kind of an elaborate wood jungle gym which looks like a great place to let kids play in. Plenty of room in the park to spread out and and do picnics and just hang out. The weekend I went the park was popular with all of it's amenities including a snack vendor which was in the building where the restrooms were next to the lake. Parking isn't too bad but I was a little bit concerned if I was going to find a spot but there are two lots that you can use and the one towards the entrance to the park is bigger. Nice outing and glad I made it here as I had it on my list but I am glad I went when I did because in midsummer heat I am sure this park is super busy!

I arrived to find the parking lot open and with plenty of available spaces, which was a relief after driving past a couple times the day before and seeing the lot full. When I was leaving after walking the path(s), I found another group was arriving. The park has walking path(s), historical buildings with informational placards, and benches spread out along the walking paths. The vegetation in bloom was varied on my morning stroll and I found the quiet of the park grounds peaceful. Looking up as I neared the water, I noticed a small black, white, and red woodpecker land above eye level in a tree. The bird hopped around the tree a little bit and found a pocket in the tree to search for food in. It continued to forage in that one spot for a few minutes before looking around the same tree for another food spot.

Activities that this park is mostly geared towards is sports as there is several spots for baseball, football and other ball games. Nice walking paths here that take you to a community center nearby and a forested area with several different trails meandering through the trees. Some of these paths link ip to the BPA Trail, a walking and bicycling path.

It was a pretty small space, but decided to give it a try for a few hours. Was able to catch some fish, but it took a while longer than expected. The water was calm and serene. This was a super nice park and was perfect for young children and slightly older ones too. The play…read morestructures were big and had a large variety of things, slides, climbing, spinning, ropes, etc. The one for the slightly older kids with the steepest slides had beans puke all over it (not sure how long it had been there), which was super gross, but the park service truck came while we were there and power hosed the thing down. Our toddlers had a great time climbing on the blocks, enjoying the slightly shorter and less steep toddler friendly slides, and the bucket swings.
