First and last time eating here. I liked the fact it wasn't very busy. But then I figured out why. Food was not labeled properly. Some items had labels with the wrong food item listed. I've previously have worked in the hospitality business. This is not ok, especially for customers who have food allergies. Health inspect would not pass this. Arrived on a Saturday plenty of parking at the plaza. The lunch line wasn't long or crowded as they just opened. The price is affordable at $18.99 for dinner and weekends. We were seated at the middle of the restaurant at a non-booth table. They had a variety of drinks with refills for $2.59. The line for food wasn't long and quick to grab. The crab station and grill station were the stars at the beginning of the opening. The grill station was a longer wait since the grill can allocate a limited number of customers plate of food. My favorites were the Cajun shrimp and crab. The rest of the food was average taste and flavor or salty for my taste. Clearing of plate from the table was quick and efficient. For a buffet it's alright. I think the best thing was their fried fish but they barely have any and when they bring it out, everyone goes to get it so it runs out quickly. There's a roll station with no raw fish, everything was imitation crab. A lot of other buffets have sushi so go somewhere else if that's what you're looking for. Great selection of items and amazing price for what it's worth. I have been waiting forever for another Chinese buffet to open and when it finally did, you know I had to stop by. They have all of your typical buffet food like the seafood, fried foods, some noodles and rice, and this place even had some sushi! My favorite was the sushi bar and the crawfish. The inside is just like any other buffet. Food are is laid out in the middle. It seems like a lot of items but it's also not that much. I think when I went the price was about $12-14 per person so it felt pretty worth it. I have been wanting to try Flaming Buffet out but was skeptical seeing some bad reviews lately. But we were pleasantly surprised how good it was. I asked to see the buffet bar first because of the bad reviews. Foods actually look really good and fresh. Not sure what people are complaining about. I didn't try many dishes but had mainly the seafood: crab, shrimp (several kinds), clams, fried fish, and the veggies (cauliflower, asparagus, stir-fried button mushrooms, green beans, corn on the cob, etc. and everything that I had was super fresh and tasty. Much better than I expected. 5-star for all of those that we did try. I didn't try the raw fish (I never do from a buffet bar), nor the mongolian bbq bar so I can't comment on those. We had fresh fruit at the end for dessert and the watermelon was sweet and good. Cantaloupe was okay and honeydew was tasteless. There were some assorted pastries but I was too full to try. I like this place as there is no line if you go early and the price is reasonable. They have a variety of food and it's constantly being refilled. The only thing is the ice cream doesn't taste good, it's the single serve cups. Everything else taste pretty good and fresh and you will definitely be full. For the price of the buffet, I am really happy for the quality. This place is huge and can cater to large parties for any occasion. When I came, there were many graduations being celebrated. It was very packed but the food was constantly being replaced for a new fresh batch so nothing was low or cold. Our waiter was very quick to clean our table and refill our drinks which was great, so we didn't have multiple dishes stacking up. For the food, I was quite bummed they didn't have king crab legs, but they did have another type of crab. The salmon sashimi was actually my favorite of the seafood. The star of the dinner was the mongolian hot grill! There's normally a line for it but trust me it's worth the wait. The meat selection was surprisingly good that it even had galbi. I asked if I was able to sit closer cuz I had a bad knee.there were plenty of seats available. But she just said No and left. I came here on a Friday evening around 6pm and had a small wait. The restaurant is new, so everything still looks really nice and clean. During my time there, the restaurant really struggled to keep up with the demand for food - a lot of the food trays were empty and took a long time to be refilled. In general, the food was mediocre. For most dishes, the flavor felt off due to lack of or incorrect seasoning of the dish. Favorite foods from the buffet were the salmon sashimi (and most offerings at the sushi bar), seaweed salad and Cajun shrimp boil. The galbi short ribs from the teppanyaki station looked promising but were really tough and chewy. The fruit at the dessert bar was fresh and sweet, and I appreciate the cleanliness of the prepackaged ice creams. Service was good, and plates were cleared off the table in a timely manner. Overall, the food, except for the dishes mentioned above, was not really enjoyable. Dinner was $18.99 per person, so it is a great deal for all the seafood that you're getting. Usually buffets are known to not have great food, this was not the case here. The selection was great, they had crawfish, shrimps, crabs, fried fish, Mongolian bbq, and a whole bunch of other Asian cuisine choices. I never felt overwhelmed by the amount of people here compared to other cheaper buffets. My only complaint was my spoon had a bunch of crust on it so I didn't use it (which is honestly terrible now that I think about it, but everything else made up for that). 4/5 stars, I wish the utensils were cleaned better, but other than that I had a great experience here. read more

For just recently opening, the restaurant was relatively crowded, PRICE: It's $13.99 for lunch and $18.99 for dinner and weekends. They also offer a senior discount, which I can't remember off the top of my head. FOOD: There's definitely a lot of variety. They have the typical asian buffet foods like wings, fries, cream cheese wontons (a little smaller than other asian buffets though, but just get more if you want them haha), orange chicken, teriyaki chicken, fried shrimp, salt and pepper shrimp, chow mein, fried rice, sushi, soups, etc. But they also had a couple things I don't typically see at other asian buffets such as xiao long bao (soup dumplings) and tempura vegetables. They also had this one mushroom dish in a sauce and that was so good! They also have Mongolian bbq but we didn't try that this time. SERVICE: We were seated pretty soon after we got inside the restaurant, and our used and finished plates were taken away very promptly. OVERALL THOUGHTS: For the price and variety, I would definitely come back since I live so close! I also want to try this place out for dinner. This was my second and absolutely last visit to Flaming Buffet. When it first opened, I was honestly impressed. The food was fresh, the rock crabs were packed with meat, and everything tasted like it was worth the money. At that time, I would have easily given them five stars without hesitation. But now? This place has completely fallen apart. The rock crabs were disgusting. They were clearly old and not stored properly. The smell coming off them was absolutely foul--like a mix of ammonia and something rotting. I could barely stomach the scent, let alone eat them. There was hardly any meat inside, which anyone who knows seafood understands means they have been dead for way too long. It is honestly a health concern at this point. No one should be serving crabs in this condition. Then there is the Mongolian grill--or whatever they are pretending it is. The cooks have no idea what they are doing. They dump excessive amounts of sauce on everything to the point where the food turns into a soggy, salty mess. It is not grilled. It is not stir-fried. It is not edible. Instead of that signature seared grill flavor you expect, you get something that tastes like it was boiled in soy sauce. It was like ramen gone wrong. The rest of the buffet is no better. The food looks like it has been sitting out way too long. Nothing is replenished on time. What should be crispy is soggy. What should be hot is lukewarm. The sushi is dry and rubbery, the desserts taste like they're from a discount freezer, and the fruit is sad and wilted. Flaming Buffet went from a promising new spot to an absolute nightmare. I would not eat here again if someone paid me. Not even if I came back in another life. This place should be ashamed of what it is serving now. Total disappointment. I went during a weekday lunch. A lot of the foods that pictured in Yelp are not there during lunch. Maybe during dinner they come out, but things like crab legs and nigiri/raw fish sushi are not there. It is a cheap buffet. But even for the price I was sorely disappointed. Everything looked stale and tasted how it looked. The only decent thing to get would be the Mongolian stir fry in the back since it's freshly cooked it won't have that stale flavor. However, I read somewhere here someone said it tasted bland. That is correct. Bland food everywhere. Even the desserts weren't good. How does one mess up jello? I stopped by here after seeing the signs for months that this restaurant was opening. I live in Anaheim so I'm used to going to Teppanyaki when I want my Chinese buffet craving fulfilled. But since I go to Costco often, I had seen Flaming Buffet and was intrigued to try. Flaming Buffet was terrible, one of the worst buffets I've ever been to. The food here is awful. Nothing has seasoning and everything tastes bland. The mongolian grill was the only thing that didn't taste terrible, but even it needed more seasoning and was bland. I'm by no means someone with picky tastes or even a dulled palate. I'm not asking for exceptional flavors or seasonings here, just a little salt would have sufficed. I tried almost everything in the buffet from the soups to the clams/shrimp/fish to the sushi to the mongolian grill to the Chinese staples like fried rice, lo mein, crab rangoons, and orange chicken. I would not go back for any of it. The service here was also terrible. The waitress sat me at the beginning of my meal and filled my water once. I never saw anyone again until I had to chase someone down to ask for my bill. Yes, this buffet is cheap, but you get what you paid for.
