Came here for a weekday lunch and was surprised to see the all you can eat buffet was only $15 ( I'm sure the price is different for weekends / dinner). At that price, I was a little skeptical about the food. The restaurant is located in a shopping plaza, so no issues with parking. Since you pre pay before being seated, the line was long and slow with only one cashier available. The dining room is spacious with a variety of options, including sushi, American, Asian, fruit, salad, dessert and a large Mongolian stir-fry station where you choose your own ingredients and have them cooked to order. The sushi station was the most popular with nigiri and rolls. The salmon nigiri disappeared within a minute of being restocked, so timing is everything if that's what you're after. Considering the price, I wasn't expecting high quality, but I was surprised of the options available. The staff did great clearing plates promptly throughout the meal. For an AYCE buffet that costs less than fast food meals, it's a great deal for families. read more

Worst customer service we have ever experienced at any buffet. We go to grab utensils and straws with my child but we noticed all the utensils were spoons and noticed most spoons were extremely dirty. My son was doing two things; looking for a fork, and looking through the spoons to look for a clean one and I was placing the dirty ones on the side when this rude cashier (overweight with tons of bright makeup) comes over to us and tells my son he can't be grabbing all the spoons and goes to touch my child in an attempt to move him away and puts her hand down to block him from finding a spoon. I try to explain he's looking for a fork but she walks away while I'm talking to her mid sentence and I can't finish my thought that all the spoons are dirty. She comes back and I tell her he's looking for a clean spoon because most are dirty and she shrugs at me in the most rude way and walks away again while I'm mid sentence. I was shocked at the interaction and the hostility towards my child, it left me uneasy. I'm not the type of mom who condones bad behavior from her children either, but in this situation he was an innocent kid just looking for a clean spoon since most were filthy. The whole interaction left such a bad taste in my mouth I asked to speak to the manager. The manager "Ari" comes over and I explain to her what happened and how I was so upset I wanted to punch the lady for being rude to my son when he wasn't doing anything wrong but because I'm a professional I didn't say or do anything and just walked away from her. I explained the hostility towards my son but it went on deaf ears because she only tunnel visioned on my expression that I was upset with the cashier. She then says "there's no need for that I'm the manager it's my job to handle it". I then say to her, "I'm telling you that's how frustrated I felt but I didn't do or say anything to cashier that's why I'm talking to you as the manager, right?" So I tell the manager she's being rude to me too by not listening to my frustration. She then gets defensive and starts denying being rude and says I haven't done anything and gets all crazy wide bug eyed on me and hostile too. So I tell her the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth and I'm considering maybe requesting my money back. She laughs at me and says "do you have your receipt? I say yes, she responds, "ok you know what I'm just going to give you your money back and you can leave because you're already being problematic". It was insane, my child was treated like crap for trying to find a clean spoon, then we are kicked out by the manager for simply voicing our bad experience with the cashier. I told her yes, give me my money back because I'm not even hungry anymore. She walks away and brings me back a receipt saying I'm getting a refund and has me sign it. I ask for her name and she says it's "Ari". I ask to speak to the owner and she says she's eating so I tell her it's ok and I can wait. The owner then walks over to us and we all step outside to talk. By this time I'm so livid over the way two employees have now treated us I don't even want to talk to the manager anymore because she offered no help at all and only made it worse and basically kicked us out for complaining over a worker being rude to my son. I ask for her to leave us alone with the owner and she says "I'm not going to leave you alone with her", as if we are criminals or something intending to harm the owner. I knew what her intentions were. They were to lie about what had happened since she clearly was protecting the cashier and herself. The owner asks her to go inside and tells the manager, "I got this". We explain to the owner what happened and she was apologetic and explained she would retrain the staff and that experience should have never happened. I told her it's a shame unprofessional people are employed there, especially the manager who clearly has no experience in management. I also was honest and let her know I would be writing a negative review of our experience. We obviously will not be returning, not just for horrible customer service but also because so many dishes were absolutely dirty although they're supposed to be clean. Again, this is a management issue because the manager should ensure quality service as well as cleanliness of the restaurant. Unfortunately, weak leadership allows quality of service and cleanliness to fall short often and the owners are the ones to suffer with loss of revenue. Hopefully, better choices are made to have a better ran establishment. If you have children, just be aware they are not kid friendly here. The food was also clearly dirty, old and stale. There is clearly a lack of leadership through out the entire restaurant in every possible way. If the food and dishes are dirty infront of our face, I can't imagine what nasty things go on behind the scene. read more

You get what you pay for, so don't expect the best! Overall, I really like the food. It was my first time coming on a weekend and they served prime rib which tasted good but was tough (which I had already expected.) I would definitely come back for weekday lunch and weekend dinner for the prime rib since steak is steak. The service was amazing and always making sure my table was clean. read more

I was checked in at 19:32 today and had waited for a while even though I saw a guy , I think he is a manager, was at the salad bar. Until a waitress noticed and came out to checked me in. She didn't tell me that I have only one hour to eat for their closing time and this turned into an issue later. While I was about to finish my meal with a little desserts, I came to the salad bar for some jelly cubes. There was no utensils on those foods bowls, so I went to get a clean spoon from their utensils holders for picking up some jelly cubes. When I was picking up food a person, they later claimed she is a minor, stopped me from taking the food and she accused that I put my dirty spoon in their food bowl. I told her " No, I just picked it up from the clean utensils holder. " she kept blaming how she would know if it's cleaned. A another waitress showed up and asked what had happened. I told what happened and this waitress said the store is about to close who ever checked me in should told me that I have only one hour to eat. She refused to let me eat the food even though the OPEN sign was still ON. There was a couple still eating at the other tables, so I told them it' s ALL YOU CAN EAT and I didn't finished my meal. If they stopped me from my desserts they had to discount or refund partial of my payment and demanded to talk to their manager. The adult waitress went inside and came out demanding that I had to leave because her manager has gone home. She claimed herself was in charge at the time and kept asking myself to leave. To be honest I don't care that much about the desserts but the attitudes and the treatment that they were giving to me. An older waitress, third person, showed up asking what she can do to resolve the issue. At this point, my blood was racing I told the lady that I had been charged for the full meal but their workers stopped me from eating and demanded myself to leave even though the restaurant wasn't closed yet, I want a refund or discount. I also told her I'm not stupid enough to put a dirty spoon in their bowl. At this time the little racist jumped in the conversation again blaming I disrespected the old waitress, so I yelled at her that she was the one that disrespected first. She was raising her voice and the fourth waitress with a birth mark on her eye like a panda stepped in the conversation and claiming disrespectful the first one is the minor that I should not yell at her. I told the fourth waitress that she should not let that minor yelled at a senior. The fourth one disrespectfully loud demanded I have to leave or she call the police. I demanded my refund that they didn't give back. Her name is Carmen. They all came out from the kitchen try to intimidate myself like a pack of wolves. So this is a former Home town Buffett. It has been remodeled with a sushi bar, Mongolian BBQ, and a much improved dessert station. The price is reasonable. There is a senior discount. Value for money. In this economy I appreciate that they can still offer AYCE at this price point. I had low expectations but I was amazed at the variety of food and the quality they are able to offer. I have been to many buffets and I must say their dishes are tasty! I enjoyed their pot roast , grilled chicken, chinese food, and soft serve. I also particularly love that they have plantains and Sprite Zero. The staff were friendly and the place was clean which is a huge plus for me. I just hope they will always be consistent . I went on a Thursday at around 3pm. I am definitely coming back. For the price you pay , you get way better food than most fast food places, even restaurants. It's rare to come here without a line to stand in to get seated. And, unfortunately, it's a narrow, short waiting area so if there are large parties in front of you, you're going to be standing outside. And if you need to get through the crowd, good luck. As far as the food selection goes, everything here is fine. Nothing is going to blow your mind, but you're also going to an all you can eat buffet where the kitchen is going to have to be constantly churning out food. You shouldn't expect anything life changing. What they do put out is tasty enough and there's a wide enough variety that you are going to find something to eat until you can't eat any more. From seafood to meats to desserts &, yes, salad, they have a little bit of everything including a cooked to order Mongolian beef area. They also have plenty of classics like chicken fingers for the picky eater kids in your life. Parking is in a plaza, so easy to find. You pay upfront before choosing your own table to sit and then grabbing food. $14 for lunch and $19 without beverage for dinner. I wanted to highlight our server, Eddie, for his service in making our dinner enjoyable. He was very kind and came by often to clear our plates which we didn't expect but was appreciative of. It's been awhile since I've been to a buffet. Sadly, I didn't see any crab legs (at least not at this buffet) but they have other assortments of food such as pizza and orange chicken! I really like the concept of an open kitchen because you can choose the type of raw meat you want and they'll cook it in front of you. The restaurant is always decorated for all holidays. The staff are very nice and helpful with checking in or cleaning up. The food is always fresh and it is refilled continuously, as soon as the trays are almost finished. The fruits and vegetables are also fresh and flavorful. They have so many desserts such as cakes, pies, cookies, brownies, cotton candy, ice cream and more. We always come here for special occasions or at least once a month. This place can get pretty crowded on the weekends but thankfully the lines move pretty fast. I see a lot of ppl bringing their families here to eat including little kids. It's a buffet style and you pay up front before being seated. The food choices a re pretty eclectic ranging from American dishes such as pizza and mashed potatoes to fried rice and chow mein. There is soup, sushi bar, stir fry and a huge dessert section as well. It can get pretty crowded but the staff are really good about making it manageable to get to your table and to the food. Overall fairly clean and it is sooo filling. Eating here in the afternoon pretty much made me full the rest of the day. It's a bit of a drive from me but worth it if you have lots of mouths to feed. Honestly for $21/adult (cheaper for kids and 65+), it's a good value buffet. Don't expect quality food but it's a good bang for your buck. And they have an unlimited cotton candy machine! Long lines (30+ min) and they don't take reservations so show up early or come at off hours. Great parking since it's next to the Walmart. It has sushi, teppanyaki, a dessert bar and the usual Chinese/Panda Express stuff like orange chicken, chow mein, egg soup, and broccoli beef. Lots of American stuff to like french fries and macaroni and cheese. Staff is very nice and it is very crowded and loud. The food is typical of American style buffets with food ranging from basic salads, pizza, fried chicken, to roast beef, swai filet, and the best of all the custom Mangolian Beef chef. The food and options during lunch was ok for the price however it looks like the dinner hour there are more selections for seafood. So although I honestly wouldn't come back for the lunch, it is an extremely affordable option that will definitely fill you up. My 2nd time at a Paradise Buffet. My 1st time at this location in Garden Grove. I really, really like this buffet brand and both locations I've been to were both consistently good. Though they don't have as many items as the Flaming Buffet brand, I like the food at Paradise Buffet better. There's more American food choices too. The Mongolian grill is very impressive as they don't have basic vegetables. I really enjoyed the pot roast that is similar to Golden Corral's, my Mongolian grill creation was fire, Chicken wings were hot and fresh, beef and broccoli was on point (beef was textured and tender), and they have whole jalapeños, yummm!!! Sushi selection is good. They had 2 vegetable sushi rolls available. However, if you are truly vegetarian or have seafood allergies, just beware of cross contamination bc I got the vegetable rolls and they had a few specks of tobiko (orange roe eggs) on it. I'm sure it wasn't on purpose, but just beware (otherwise, you may need to use your Epi Pen)!! Service was great. They were fast at filling our water cups and collecting dirty plates. Dessert selection is plenty and I especially love, love, love that they had cotton candy!! It was so good and made fresh, I ended up eating 5. When you first enter, it looks very clean and the dishes look appetizing. Went there for a weekday lunch at 11. Had some of the clams which tasted delicious. Tried their spicy seafood mix with shrimp and mussels. The shrimp were big but they weren't fresh. It seemed like they had been cooked the day before. It was disappointing. The panko fried shrimp is mislabeled as salt and pepper shrimp. Wish it were indeed salt and pepper shrimp. I didn't try their cook to order grill. I think that this is the best way to enjoy this restaurant. They have a large selection of cakes. Their fresh fruit was just okay They offer senior discount and early bird pricing. Went again for 2nd time and tried the cook to order grill. One advice when piling up your ingredients is to start with the sauces first in the bottom of the bowl and then select your ingredients. It came with three choices of meats and tons of veggies. In general, this place is a veggie lovers dream. There was an amazing salad bar along with the veggies at the Mongolian station which equates to many options when it comes to vegetarians. The meats however were plentiful but of okay quality. My favorite was the fried chicken! The chicken was crispy, and plentiful. The desserts station was pretty good as well. I've been to many buffets in Orange County, and this one is the cleanest. The food here doesn't sit for long , considering other buffets leave the food sitting all day. This buffet offers sushi, Mongolian grill, Canto style, and American style food. The value to quality ratio makes me come here a lot. Cheaper to get filled up for lunch or dinner, here, than going anywhere else. The desert options are way better than most buffets in OC. Side note: I am not comparing this to Vegas buffets.
