    Nasty place
    Ken M.

Orange chicken was good on the outside of the chicken on the inside is very dry. Sesame chicken the same way. Anything chicken is very dry and the shrimp no matter if it's in sauce, it's still dry. Noodles are terrible. Service is absolutely terrible. they're sitting down eating their own lunch and they won't get up to fill up your tea. They're definitely urgently wanting to grab plates off the table though. This place just terribly sucks. do not come here be warned. The ambience is your typical Chinese restaurant.

This is a pretty good Chinese buffet with sushi, American food, and Mongolian grill. But there was bit too much breading on the deep fried food in my opinion. Just saying.

I've struggled with doing this review for a few weeks now and I came to conclusion that it has to be said. I'm not a huge fan of buffets however since the birthday girl chose this place I went along with it. Upon arriving we were greeted and told to pick a seat. The place is rather outdated nothing at all to brag about. Being greeted by the man at the entrance was the absolute best part of the service from here on out. We placed our drink orders which were way overpriced but anywho we then proceeded to see what was available on the buffet. I was shocked by the fact there was no orange chicken, or sesame or garlic chicken because this is a Chinese buffet correct? I settled for egg drop soup, crab Rangoons, fried rice and sweet sour chicken. The rice, rangoons and soup were the best things that were offered on the buffet. The chicken was dry and tough and honestly nothing on the buffet seemed fresh. My grandson got pizza, smoked sausage and lomein off the buffet and the only edible thing on his plate was the lomein. The available items on the buffet were not what I would have imagined and everything looked leftover and poorly prepared. Still celebrating we then thought Oh let's try fruit and dessert which was no better. Unripened grapes with seeds, oranges hard and not sweet, jello tough and hard no jiggle at all (in my grandsons voice) and the banana pudding was more like slop and cookies. Overall this was a complete waste of $86 and the birthday girl who turned 73 by the way was so disappointed that she chose this place when there were so many other options. We had enough so we asked for our check. We received it placed the money on the clip she brought the change back and proceeded to stand there. We're allowing the birthday girl to open her cards and gift. The woman then asks "no tip?" Mind you no matter how bad the food is we always leave a tip and we had intended to leave a minimal tip considering we served ourselves and the only thing this woman had done was brought out 5 drinks which she didn't even have to refill and it's rude to ask for a tip while people are still talking or drinking etc. I asked for a to go cup and the woman pouted, walked off and never came back. Hopefully she was gathering cleaning supplies to clean up the women's bathroom as it was a disgusting mess. Needless to say I made the executive decision to remove the tip as there was absolutely nothing tip worthy about the food or service.

A lady snapping the fresh green beans. Very nice.

Flaming buffet is a great value for the price. They have your trash frozen chicken nuggets and wontons like every place, but they also have plenty of vegetables and other options. During my last visit I saw a lady snapping the fresh green beans. There is even a bar where you can make a stir fry bowl and a guy will sear it up for you. My only two complaints are the weird programming they have on tv and the overall cleanliness and experience. They chose tv channels like CNN and charity infomercials that seems to be a subliminal signal to leave. Also the place could be just more clean, buckets of food less sloppy, better forks, better quality vegetables, etc.

Im surprised at how low rating this location has but im happy we secided to try it out . As soon as you walk inn the place was super packed and we had to wait, to my surprise it wasnt long at all . They had alot of different variety of food and it all was delicious. The server was very attentive and kept our drinks refilled best fried shrimp ive had full of flavor the ambiance was nice but it was full so a bit loud ,something i dont mind at all will be going again

    Meh.

I've been to my fair share of Asian buffets and this was the worst, to say the least. The food options were limited and of not great quality, let's just put it at that. I came in with better expectations for an Asian buffet but for 10$ I guess this is what you get. I wouldn't come back here again.

I'm a big fan of Chinese mustard, but beware: it will make you cry, both from enjoyment and from the pain of your sinuses lighting on fire. Worth it anyway. If you like egg rolls, they're a must. They're enormous and packed with the freshest ingredients. I always regret loading up on appetizers because I'm full before the real food shows up, and I do it every single time. I've had a lot of the noodle dishes and each one is better than the last. If you're a tea drinker, they have a huge selection. I'm sad to report that I ate too fast and only snapped pictures of the desserts. They were as exceptional as everything else. Service is A+. I just wish I lived a little closer. We got the lunch specials: Egg Drop Soup and Hot & Sour Soup-both were good! The General Tsao Chicken was solid. We got it with the side of Fried Rice and the Fried Rice was flavorless plus the Fried Spring Roll was nothing special. The Mapo Tofu with Minced Pork was good, but very salty. Needed to pair it with lots of steamed white rice to balance it out. We also had the half duck with buns. The duck was okay too, nothing crazy/special to it. Food was alright! The guy bartender was super chill and easy to talk to. The ambiance was also chill and moody as well. Would be opened to come back during happy hour/lunch time.

It wasn't busy. - I noticed the Red Bull rep chatting it up for what seemed like forever with the bartenders while nobody was asking us for drinks. - About 10 mins later we were asked "do you want anything?" Well, yes, we do..... that's why we came to a restaurant. - After we ordered, the GM (female) was hanging out for quite some time with 7-8 other employees at the bar while I was trying to flag someone down and get a fork (took much more time than it should have). - GM was frequently standing at the end of the bar, just texting rather than paying attention to the multiple needs of the customers sitting right in front of her. While the food was great, the service was TERRIBLE and we won't be back. From the GM to the bartenders, nobody cared. Nobody even thanked us upon leaving. There's no excuse for expecting kindness and awareness when one is out to dinner, this restaurant made us feel unimportant and unappreciated. I don't foresee this restaurant lasting much longer, it's a competitive world and there's so many other awesome restaurants.

The people are the exact same. It was truly a feeling of nostalgia that's hard to describe. My favorite dish has always been, and still is, the bamboo shoots with pork. It is so fragrant, umami, and simply delicious. The west lake soup is also a classic done so well - pro tip to add white pepper to give it a little kick. The steamed pork belly was okay - sauce is flavorful (a touch salty) along with the preserved greens but the pork wasn't as tender as I had remembered it. The fish filets are fried to perfection, full of salt/pepper flavor, and pairs well with the jalapeños. If you don't like fish, you can get the same flavor with the pork version of this dish, which I also really like. The service can be a little slow because it's just 1 chef and 1 waitress who own the restaurant - same people that have run the show since I first came here probably almost 30 years ago! Incredible to see them still working so hard and serving delicious food. They'll never know how much their restaurant and food means to me!

Great flavor and the pork didn't have that weird pork taste some Asian places have. The crispy smoked duck pancake was awesome and worth the steeper price. I wasn't a fan of the sauce alone, but in the pancake was excellent. The eggroll was a decent eggroll and the duck sauce that came with it was the best sauce I've had with an eggroll. The lady working was sweet and was working her butt off with the 5 tables she had. Felt great to support a local business. The restaurant itself is out dated but the tables and utensils were clean. The atmosphere added to the experience and the background music was just perfection.

First, I ordered the Chinese Fried Chicken (half), which is supposed to be brined in soy and hoisin, then deep fried in a light batter. This chicken was no more brined than a rock in the desert, and it was just as dry, even the dark meat pieces. The steamed rice was fine, as was the beautiful bok choy. The dish, overall was a huge disappointment. The chicken lo mein was also a letdown, as it had an underlying sweetness that I've never experienced with this dish. Two bites were taken and it (along with the chicken) ended up in the hotel trash can. A couple of positives: I enjoyed the hot & sour soup, and the egg rolls tasted as if they were rolled in-house, which is a rarity these days. I live a few hundred miles down the road and don't get to downtown Dallas very often, so the odds of me patronizing this place again is already slim. But, in the event I find myself here in the future, I will avoid this restaurant.
