I have been to Flags on 3 occasions.Tonight was the best. My husband and I met for dinner while he was on a break from work. The waitress, Joanne,was Fantastic! In other visits,the staff were average,at best. The food was good, and Joanne , knowing my husband was on a dinner break from work, was fast, efficient and friendly. Good solid pub! Their quality and consistency has improved considerably since their rennovations. The restaurant side is nice, if not odd in how its arranged. However, when u sit and realize how it breaks up the noise u appreciate it. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. The dining area is always clean. The food is typical pub food. The burgers are huge and the quality is good and usually cooked perfectly. The fish fry is pretty good too, nice portions. Their side salad is always fresh and dressing comes on the side....perfect! Ive had the bangers and mash, which was really good!! The shrimp scampi isnt winning culinary awards, but its also conistent and pretty good. And their sandwiches/wraps are standard but nicely made. Just a couple complaints....their nachos need help. Black olives and pulled pork really dont go on nachos. How about some fresh pico de gallo and refried beans? Their seafood chowder needs some help, too. Salty glue....yech! Now for the bar side. The expansion is awesome!! The beer selection is really good! Same food. Only complaint.....the middle-aged female bartender....how about smiling? She seriously looks like her cat just got run over. And she is ALWAYS like that. My family and i come here often. How about giving me/us a nice hello? The other waitstaff does. She might crack a hint of a smile occasionally when she knows the customer by name. We decided to go somewhere new for dinner tonight and clearly choose the wrong place and will not return!!! The hostess was nice and seated us quickly!!however it took awhile for our waitress to make it to our table and it was not that busy for a Saturday evening at 5. The waitress was pleasant but slow !My husband ordered the calamari and artichoke appetizer which he didn't eat because it tasted only of butter and oil I ordered the grilled salmon which tasted spoiled and my husband ordered the prime rib medium which came out medium rare!! They were kind to take my entree and appetizer off the bill but with no apologizes from the waitress or manager !!! Will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone!! read more

Comfortable for a large group, a few people or even just a afternoon/evening on your own. The servers are kind & courteous. Food is good and reasonably priced for the portion sizes. Drinks for 21+ are made nearly perfect every time! Not too much alcohol or too much mixer! Definitely a good place to go with family and friends! read more

Clean place, but that's about it for our first visit. My wife got sick from the chicken pot pie. Basically a creamy soup with a croissant loosely sitting on the top of the bowl. I deferred to chicken wings and regretted it. Asked for crispy. They were just really tough and huge with a strong vinegar flavor sauce partially poured over the wings. I couldn't really eat them between the texture and flavor. I was also a bit sick after getting home. To top it off, the service was slow, there was a fly in my wife's drink, and we had to listen to a group of four customers a couple of tables over from us openly talk (very loud) about "black people"...enough racist oriented commentary where I almost said something to them. We couldn't leave fast enough. Never again, Flaherty's. Yuck!!! read more

Awful bartending service, always have rude bartenders with extremely slow service. Good food but bar services are horrid.

Good bar with plenty of drafts to choose from. Pub food is tasty and the free popcorn is endless. Good place to watch a game given there are TVs lining the walls. read more

My boyfriend ordered dinner for us last night from Flaherty's...I wanted the Cajun Chicken BLT wrap with chips and he wanted the chicken French with penne....he comes home and what's in the bag? Well, from the time we moved to Rochester in 1992 or closely thereafter, we would go to Flaherty's with friends and neighbors at least twice a month. We had a terrible meal about a year ago and hadn't tried it since, but decided to give it another chance. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. The food is very mediocre and tasteless. Sadly, this is no longer on our list of casual places to go to for dinner. It's a fine place if you just want a drink although it's undergoing major construction and will become part of Bill Gray's. read more

This has been my go-to place for burger and a beer, for over 25 years. Under the new ownership of Bill Grays, I was very disappointed when we ate there this week. The former 8oz. burgers were juicy and flavorful, but now they are dry and taste like cheap burger meat with a filler. The coleslaw was limp and turning brown on the edges. The baked beans used to have good flavor and had shredded pork in them, now they are straight out of a can. I sure hope the Flaherty family does not sell their other restaurants in Webster and Honeoye Falls, so I will still be able to find my favorite burgers. read more

We usually have a good experience here. Service in the bar area seems better than in the formal dining room. There always seems to be a few locals the the bar. The booths are large and the food has usually been good. Sitting on the porch in the summer gives you a view of the creek if you can look past the parking lot and the cars entering and exiting. I'd call it good but nothing great. read more

Courteous service and good food made this a great choice for large family gathering. There were 10 of us and we had no problems, no waits no skipped items. Our waitress didn't blink at separate checks. We had the Shephard's pie and black and blue salad. Both were delicious. read more

The food would have been great...but service was horrible. Server did not get my beverage right. Then charged me for it on final bill. Ordered appetizer and received it 25 min later.( could tell it had been ready for awhile, cold and cheese was melted, but because of the wait, also cold.) My husband ordered a garbage plate that the plate was too hot to touch from the heat and my patty melt was cold and the bread on the bottom was soggy.... aka.. sat way 2 long . Didn't see a manager, but the server at the next table took our dirty dishes and our debit card and ran it...then brought back a 2 go box. Our server finally showed up and belittled the other server who did help us, by saying she shouldn't have touched the bill...but she was the one who charged us for the beverage she messed up in the being...the bill was adjusted and we did notice that it was steady but not overwhelming on the other side...so no reason to have this kind of service. I even left dirty dishes at the end of the table and she didn't even pick them up and probably saw her 4 times during the whole meal. read more

We had a really bad meal here last night. First of all, they have those cheaply made wooden benches/booths that are so uncomfortable. They are straight up with no back support. We had to request a different table. We were initially happy to get a table on the back outside patio, which had no sense of décor. (so covered, you wouldn't know that you were outside), Our table was missing it's bottom foot so it was ridiculously uneven (something that should have been fixed). We had to stick a napkin under it to make it tolerable. The server was great. (that was the only redeeming feature of the night). My husband and I got the special "Seafood Grill platter" that was expensive and AWFUL. Thinking back we should have sent it back. NO seasoning. I had to ask for drawn butter (funny, it didn't come with any), and the pasta was over cooked and it's sauce was probably out of a jar. I doused grated cheese over it to give it some kind of flavor, finally giving up and didn't finish it. The lobster claws were dry and tough. Just bad. We also sent back the chowder. We all tasted it and agreed that it was WAY too salty with little flavor and hardly any fish in it. Really, it tasted like potato soup that was over thickened. Note: Prior to this visit, I had the calamari salad, which was not very good. The dressing was nasty. They need a smaller menu & a better chef. -We used to like too come here, but feel this was the last straw. We will not go back any time soon. read more
