The tall blonde waitress is always in a hurry. When we recently went there I didn't even get my coat off and she's asking what we want to drink. This has been our family go-to place for years. It has been renovated twice within the past few years and recently expanded adding a new room for dinners, and can be reserved for private parties. The prices, however, seem to constantly be on the rise. Beer and wine prices are at least a buck higher than any other restaurant in the area. Food prices have risen a couple bucks as well. Have to pay for the renovations somehow I guess. But we know what we like and bartenders also know what we like. Drinks are as good as poured as soon as they see us walk in. That's nice. Always have plenty of craft brews on tap and one bartender is usually pretty quick suggest his favorite with a sample taster. This is a great lunch spot for myself and coworkers. They're very good with accommodating large groups, so they're our first choice for large luncheons. Service is always great! Food is pretty good. Highly recommend the French Onion Soup, Patty Melt, Cobb Salad, and Pecan Chicken Salad! read more

This is a review of their Easter Brunch. When i called to make reservations, i asked about the menu. Specifically if there was a carving station. I was told there would be and a great assortment of breakfast and lunch items. I have to say, the staff were all very nice and helpful. Other than that, this was the worst brunch buffet i have ever been to. Nothing was labeled. Everything was kept warm and refilled. Too bad the quality was sub par. Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes and french toast were good. "Homefries" were deep-fried chunks of potato squares. There was sausage peppers and onions, good. Stuffed shells good. Ziti was super dry and no sauce on the side! The "meat" options were pre-made chicken tenders and shaved beef. Really??? The shaved beef was plain with no seasoning. A cheap cut for sure. No aju or horseradish sauce! They had four soups, no labels. Chili, seafood bisque, Italian wedding soup maybe and another cream one. Not sure what it was. Rice pilaf was ok. And pre-made fried shrimp. The cocktail sauce for that was over by the salads. So, on to the "salad bar". No green salad except a ceaser. Mac salad was pretty good and a cabbage salad.... sad. They also had a cheese and cracker tray and smoked salmon. The dessert area looked ok. Cookies, brownies, cakes. I didn't have any, so i cant comment on that. Overall, extremely disappointing for $25/pp and if you have any dietary needs, you were pretty much out of luck. read more

Flaherty's was recently remodeled, looks great, clean, nice space and good ambiance. However, the food (at least the meal I ordered) is pretty lacking. I ordered a chicken sandwich, which was overly seasoned with cajun spice and salt additionally it has been overcooked as well, so it was a bit of a disappointment. On a good note, they did have nice onion rings and tater tots, and a favorite one of my wines. The service was also good as well, waitresses and hostesses are always nice. I will go back but I am going to avoid chicken on a return trip. It would be great if they were really able to deliver on their menu. If I were an owner (hint hint) I would put together some test groups and get some feedback to improve the quality of the kitchen. I know I wasn't the only person at our table disappointed - but I'd love to see this restaurant knock it out of the park, as we would come here more often. So if you're reading this (new owners) ... my intent isn't to bash, but offer a bit of advice. read more

The food was yummy and the "above and beyond service" from caring staff was wonderful! Was in town visiting family and enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, good service, and yummy food on a busy Friday night. Two days later my change purse with all my cash turned up missing. I returned on Sunday morning before the restaurant was open, to inquire if the purse had been turned. Kenny, the Kitchen Manager let me look where I had sat and he also looked for it. The tiny purse, unfortunately didn't turn up. He offered to check the security tape from that night then took my info. I returned home to Ohio feeling really bummed. Four days later I got a phone call from Kenny that the change purse was found! Somebody had turned it in and it had been stuck in a crevice by the register. Oh, my gosh! Money was still inside... A few days later it arrived in the mail. A Big "Thank You" to Kenny and the person who turned in the purse. It is So nice to know that there are such Caring, Helpful people at Flaherty's! As a freckle-laden, see-through pale family (on me Mum's side of course), I can say this bar is an excellent Irish themed little spot. My Mother and her boyfriend probably go here once a week, if not more, to sit at the bar, chat with the bartenders, and munch on the delicious food they offer. The bartenders are absolutely great. Very lively, attentive, and fun to talk to. They know just how to serve your Guinness (or Jameo and Ginger) just right. They obviously have other beers and drinks to offer, though. The food is your typical bar food, and enjoyable. No complaints here. My mother is a Celiac sufferer so no gluten for her, and they are always very willing to modify anything to accommodate that. The last time I went here was a couple months ago for a "Guinness Night", and what a blast. The first fifty people to arrive got their very own customized Guinness glass (of course, I was in the fifty), and the live bands they have are always great and fun to listen to. Food is good, atmosphere is great, and the Guinness is always flowing. You'll have a great time at "The Flags" with friends, or family. read more

We were looking for a place to eat coming back from Wayne County and the GPS took us to Flaherty's. We were lucky that we were early on a Friday evening, as the place was filling up quickly, but we were warmly greeted and given a booth in the dining room (offered the bar too). I feel guilty about writing a review as we both had HUGE fish frys, but everything else on the extensive menu looked good too. Food was well-prepared and service was excellent. Many beers both on tap and bottled. Worth going back to next time we are in the area. read more

I came here because I was in the area visiting family and friends over the holiday weekend. Flaherty's is a typical neighborhood sports bar. When you walk in, there is a room to your right which was hosting a private party, but then in the left room there is a huge bar in the middle with plenty of tables surrounding it. Want to watch your local sports game? Do not worry, there is not a bad seat in the house as there are easily 40" HD TVs lining the walls so you can see one no matter where you sit. The menu is HUGE with the pub favorites. If you are drinking, definitely sip on a local brew. Prices are right on point so you do not feel as though you are splurging. I've been going to Flaherty's for years now as a frequent visitor to the eastern Rochester suburbs, and it's one of the most consistent places to go for a decent pub-inspired meal. The wraps are great, decently sized and will definitely fill you up. The fries are tasty. Salads are fresh, and the seafood entrees are very good as well. The bar area has lots of flatscreens to catch a sporting event. The service is quick, friendly and professional. I don't think I've ever not enjoyed anything I've eaten at Flaherty's. Hawaiian pineapple seafood pasta!? What?! That's awesome! And it was! Unfortunately that dish was a special and not on the menu, it was so fantastic. The decor in here is nice and casual. Rather presentable in here with a choice of booths, tables and a huge party table. There is also a huge bar area which is very convenient while waiting to be seated. The food has always been of good quality and has never left me feeling unsatisfied. In fact if your looking for a real treat come here and order the lobster bisque! It's a home run! Impressed is the first word that comes to my mind when I think about Flaherty's Macedon. I was scrambling to get a location for a last-minute 60th surprise party for about 30 people. I called Flaherty's and they were great. They said they could set up enough tables and chairs in a semi-private room and we could bring in our own cake and a few decorations. My friends got there a bit early to set up, and the staff was super accomodating. When they found out it was a surprise they figured out a way to get the birthday girl from the hostess stand to the room (which was glassed in on most sides so it would have been hard for all of the guests to hide) without her realizing was going on (they ended up taking us through the kitchen). The staff at the hostess stand had been made aware that it was a surprise, so they covered it really well. When our guests yelled surprise, the staff joined right in!! They made it so much fun. Joanne was our head server and she was excellent. She made sure the birthday girl and her family always had a drink, she managed to get everyone to order dinner in a timely manner (which is like herding cats with this group of people!!) and she was so patient with the massive group of crazy people! Joanne and her staff even worked with me to make sure the cake was a surprise. We had a wonderful time, all of the staff were absolutely amazing and the food was great. Visited last night with friends hoping for the best and receiving the absolute worst! The waitress was rough and aggressive and lacked common couth and courtesy. The food was eventually served cold and without any care or concern and for the price, should have been brought out hot and promptly. It was merely a kids meal of chicken fingers which were under cooked and served with mediocre fries, while our meals were the "special of the day" pulled pork sandwich...completely tasting like canned/reheated/macerated pork with bottled barbecue sauce served with mediocre coleslaw or cold waffle sweet potato fries... Not a single "may I refill your beverage" or "how is your meal?" I do NOT recommend this establishment at any time. read more

The food here is just not good. I ordered the lobster bisque to start. It arrived barely warm and it was chowder not bisque. It was meh. I got the blackened chicken salad. It was not blackened it was just grilled chicken. It was ok, fresh. Salad dressing was low quality bottled Italian. You could tell because it was gloppy and a very artificial texture. Husband got a hamburger and he said it wasn't great. The menu is gigantic which is a red flag for frozen reheated and not house made food. That's why I chose a salad. Definitely our go to for a meal in town. They usually have tons of space, a solid selection of beer, and the food never disappoints. The fish fry, pot roast, and crispy green beans are out personal favorites. They have specials every day of the week to get you some more bang for your buck. The only issue is that they don't seem to handle rushes well. We came in, put our name in for the 45 minute wait, and went to the bar for a drink. There was no space around the bar, so we stood back, and a busboy ended up offering us a table even though we said it wasn't our turn, because he said he checked with a hostess. After we sat, another hostess came and grilled us about sitting and reminding us of the long wait. We offered to wait again, but they reluctantly told us to stay. We held our 50th class reunion here on Saturday night, and everything went according to plan. Megan was our coordinator and also our bartender. She fulfilled all of our requests, the room was perfectly ready when we walked in, the food was delicious, the serving staff was friendly and on top of things. The private room is an excellent venue. Our group of about 70 had comfortable space to "work the room" and good elbow room seated at the tables. Plenty of parking. We highly recommend! read more

Surprisingly good food! Went here for lunch on business. Not as fast paced as Atlanta, so plan for a leisurely lunch. Portions were hearty! Pot roast was tender and brown gravy with veggies were a very good. Shepherd's pie was also very good. Every town has a place that makes its occupants feel like they are part of an extended family. In a nearby town is one such place. You can find a hearty micro brew blended specifically for the owners or a pint of perfectly poured Guinness Stout. If beer isn't to your liking, they have a full service bar and a grand selection of red and white wines available for the most discerning of palates. The service at Flaherty's is warm, friendly and attentive. As you enter the door, it's not unlikely that a hostess or bartender will know your name and will welcome you personally. Beverages are stealthfully refilled without delay and plates are brought and cleared in a similar manner. Food at Flaherty's isn't inexpensive, meaning that everyone can find something to eat, but you may pay more for it here than at other dining facilities. They are known for producing buttery, perfectly char-grilled Delmonicos, NY strips and Tenderloins without over interfering with the natural taste of the premium Angus beef that they so proudly serve. In the mood for a burger? Flaherty's serves a half-pound aged Angus burger with your name on it, char-grilled to perfection and then topped with traditional or not so traditional toppings. Take for instance the "Flag Burger." It's design boasts a half pound of aged angus beef that's been char-grilled, then is topped with grilled onions, sweet peppers, jalapeno peppers, mushrooms, bacon, Monterey Jack cheese and a Rochester favorite, meat hot sauce.
