We kicked things off with two standout appetizers: the biscuits & gravy, which were warm, flaky, and packed with flavor, and the deviled eggs, which had a fun, elevated twist. For entrées, I had the croque madame, and wow--rich, perfectly crisped, and totally satisfying. The rest of our table enjoyed the petite waffles, a side of potato hash, cheesy grits, and the eggs Benedict. Can't recommend this place enough for brunch, and we'll definitely be back. The hostess that was working did a wonderful job with a lot of large tops and regular smaller tops pouring in for breakfast. She is sweet and we talked about our affinity for the color green. I had the pancakes with a side of eggs, decaf latte and a green juice. The scrambled eggs I requested soft/wet. The kitchen did a beautiful job. I've never had eggs cooked so beautifully by my grandmother. The eggs were exceptional. I also overheard other tables raving about the scrambled eggs. One set of elder ladies were trying to figure of their secret of how they make them so delicious. The pancakes were beautiful! They were fully cooked throughout and had a great exterior texture. Soft and fluffy but with a touch of a griddle crunch on the edges. Just absolutely perfection. The kitchen is significantly punching above their weight on how they're cooking items. Truly the best brunch I have had in I do not know how long. My water glass was constantly full. Dexter was attentive, completely a lovely person and I enjoyed reading the newspaper over my breakfast. I expected more of Ritz Carlton restaurant experience and they are not quite there. We arrived around 2pm for lunch and their hours are till 3pm. The waiters seems to be arguing with receptionist that they should stop taking customers in at 2pm. But we were seated reasonably quickly. The food choices were good overall. We were able to get brunch - omelettes, grilled cheese sandwiches and they were able to modify flatbread to make it vegetarian for us. Next morning we had good breakfast overall - omelettes were good, waffles are nice with berries and they were able to make minor changes like add chocolate chips but again I expected this restaurant to be Conrad or JW or Ritz level but it is not simply there. They charged us 18% gratuity we were only four people, so that was a bit odd. But we didn't have time to protest and otherwise the tip was going to be 15%. Ambiance is of a restaurant one might see in Marriott or Westin not five star vibes.

If this had been the only issue w/the wait person, it'd be no problem. She obviously did not want to wait on our party and made us fully aware of that. From not remembering who had what dish to complaining because the person at the end of the table, the very end not the middle screwed up how the orders were coming out. She hid in the kitchen while we were there and the bartender or the manager handled cashing us out. This is Barringtons - this is not the service one expects from a restaurant that is known as one of the best in Charlotte.

Unfortunately, the service this go round will prevent me from returning. One server was taking charge of the whole of the restaurant and she seemed VERY poorly educated on service practice, menu items, and generally was unable to communicate effectively with the others in the restaurant. While my Mahi main was very good, two out of three items in each course of the special menu were unavailable, which wasn't shared upon seating. I watched as the waitress made a mistake on our appetizer, fed another guest fish who has ordered chicken (and then didn't tell her until after she had begun eating) and completely forgot our table's included dessert. The chef was unable to accommodate any appetizers or desserts to accommodate a gluten free diet and the waitress was very unclear on the contents of the provided dishes. With few options, many unavailable items and some of the worst service I have had in years, I'd encourage the Asbury to find Beth a new role elsewhere and rethink their weekend procedures. We will not return.

The consensus was that Asbury was the best option. What luck. I popped in for my reservation and had immediate service from a couple of great servers. I got my mimosa(cranberry was a new option so tried that) and their muffin. The server noted a new batch had just come out of the oven. Wow. Really good. The blueberry was fantastic, and I really wasn't hungry, which says a lot. I plan to be back in town soon, and I think ill run it back with The Asbury.

The broccolini was amazing. The fries were ok since some were not completely cooked. The burger in the photo doesn't look like much but it was 9 out 10 in my book.

This room was somewhat connected to this downstairs bar-reception area...and there, I started with this incredibly good, notably strong drink, VIP Martini! Anyway, for the meal, I had this generous Strip Steak, which came with Crabmeat on top. The steak was delicious, but incredibly rare. I asked for Medium-Well, but I easily got Rare...all-red meat. I wasn't going to complain in a group, so I just ate it raw. Again, it was delicious...but if I wasn't so intoxicated, I might not have liked it as much. My husband asked for Medium-Rare, and got Rare as well. From looking around our table, looked as if everyone got Rare. Also, our meal came with Bread Rolls, Salad, and shared Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans. Bread Rolls were SO good...and the Mashed Potatoes were also really good, but the server just gave us all a tiny scoop (a little more than a spoonful??). Then the desserts! I chose this Strawberry Cheesecake...and it was nicely presented, and equally delicious. My husbands' choice, this Chocolate Mousse type creation, looked even better!
