Warehouse Cinemas Rotunda - Kids deal with popcorn and drink

This truly reminds me of a Alamo Drafthouse type theatre. There isn't waitstaff that brings your…read morefood or actual tables, but it is super close. The theatre we were in held only 79 people, which is definitely an intimate experience. The food types and pricing was very good. We just got a large popcorn and large drink, but we could have gotten alcohol by the ounce, sandwiches, platters, desserts, and not just the standard fare at a regular movie theatre. In addition, the seats were super comfortable, they were heated, you could lay flat if you wanted to and there was a moveable, large tray table in front and to the side of you. I can't wait to come back. I'm relatively new to the area and this will be my choice move theatre now and in the future. Highly recommend seeing a film here.

Parking is super easy because there is a garage with 8 levels and parking is free up to 4 hrs. They have a kitchen as well as a concession stand and a bar. I ordered some Wicked-themed treats: Defying Funnel Cake Fries and a Wicked Witch cocktail. The funnel cake fries were ok. I felt like the strawberry icing made them overly sweet. I also felt they were overpriced at $11. The cocktail was very refreshing and delicious and created a nice mellow buzz. The theater lobby, bathroom, and auditorium were very clean. The reclining chairs are very comfortable and I accidentally discovered they were heated seats. My only gripe with the chairs is the trays were adjustable so you food would be closer to you while recliner. Overall, I really enjoyed my time at the movies and will definitely be back.

This is such a cool, and historic theatre and I highly recommend supporting them since locally-owned theatres are such a dying breed. The perfect evening to me consists of ordering a sangria at Tapas Teatro to enjoy inside the theatre alongside some popcorn from the concession stand. Speaking of the concession stand, I ordered two popcorns and two drinks and it was just under $25. Not bad! I will be back for sure.

We took in a well-regarded international film at Charles Theater. It's been a while, and we had…read moreforgotten how low-key welcoming this old film-house is. It has deep warm vibes from the lobby to the theaters, and friendly likable staff. We got there a little early, so, after we chose our seats and bought our tickets, we got some coffee at the wide refreshment stand, and sat a while in comfortable chairs in the lobby, below some sort of balcony, soaking in the quiet calm, looking out the windows at the mural and wall-sculpture across Charles Street. We eventually handed our tix to the attendant and sauntered down one long, clean, postered hallway, and then another offset to the right, all the way back to theater 5. The seats were old and clean, not too-worn, not too-soft, not the modern seats of modern theaters. It's like watching movies in the rec-room of friends you've known all your life,if your friend had a huge screen :-). We had center seats near the mid-front, with a bright screen that filled our vision, and a good sound system with balanced acoustics. Perfect ambiance for the new film we saw, or for one of the retro classics they often feature. There's plenty of paid on-street parking, and well as a lot and a parking building directly across one-way northbound Charles Street. There's several restaurants within easy walking distance, including one opening from the theater lobby, open after 5pm. Come back to Charles Theater for the old-school film experience you didnt know you were missing! Now that we've re-discovered it, we know we'll be regulars again!

Unfortunately, I'm not a big fan of this one either, but it's as close to "nice" as I can get. First off, the reviews about the theatre being dirty are true. There is always popcorn on the ground, long waits for concession pickup, and the bathrooms are not up to par. This place feels close to being abandoned, and it doesn't seem like anyone cares to revamp this AMC theatre. Normally, AMCs are a little cleaner and nicer, and since this is in a nice area, I guess I'm just a little confused. Regardless, I'll still come back here, but I do cringe every time I walk in because I feel like I could have a much better experience if they just care more about this place. and yes the seats break often but the staff will accommodate that if you communicate with them your seat is broken.

I went to the 2 pm screening of Captain Marvel and was the only person in the theater. I gotta tell you, it's pretty cool to have any theater where you are the only person, but in an IMAX, it's incredible. The sound was amazing, the image quality was amazing and the seats are comfortable too. The concessions was open, but they didn't have any popcorn so I got a bottle of soda and some dots ice cream. For $13.95 with no tax, the experience is a steal and I highly recommend to see whatever Hollywood movie they are playing.

We recently watched "Avengers:Endgame" here and here's what I think: PROS: 1) Ticket price is way cheaper than Imax tickets at AMC, or comparable formats at Cinemark, Landmark, etc. 2) It boasts of having the largest screen, and it really is. Very impressive. 3) It's at Inner Harbor, so there are lots of things to see and do before and after screening. 4) We went on a Sunday, and there was a concession stand with popcorn and drinks and other stuff, not much, but at least. CONS: 1) I wasn't impressed by the sound. They said it was surround, but it wasn't. Plus, you can hear other people's laughter more than the movie audio, very distracting. 2) There is no Wi-Fi at the Maryland Science Center where this is located. Which is surprisingly disappointing for an educational site. 3) There are no reserved seating so if you want to get the best seats, be prepared to line up early. For us, since it was the Avengers opening weekend, we lined up an hour before. The place was full. 4) The seats don't recline, they don't even swing back, they are fixed. 5) Others may find parking a problem if you don't come in early. So, to sum up, would I go again to this place? Yes, I might. It depends on what's showing. For me, the best movie experience is still the Dolby theaters at AMC with the clear visuals and moving audio: the screen is not that big but you get recliner seats and reserved seating. It just costs a lot more.
