Since they had been touting new ownership from the crumbling regal cinema, decided to give place another shot. The 'new splash of paint' in lobby was a nice touch, and should add that the extremely limited staff was polite and as pleasant as they could be, cannot fault them, they are just trying to earn a living like the rest of us, but unfortunately thats where it ended. Arrived to watch a movie (not a new release but two weeks out already) listed on the flagship website, but staff was unsure if they were showing the movie, after 'checking' was told movie was not and never was there. rather than leave, granddaughter and i decided to give in to a secondary choice viewing. went to concession line, only to become aware that they are still operating as boxoffice/concession in same line, so had to re-enter line for concessions. Inquired about two items listed on the menu display, but unfortunately, the menu was for display purposes only as we were informed that none of the concessions we decided upon were available. Hoping that our second viewing choice for a movie would help alleviate the disappointment thus far, we entered the theatre itself only to discover that the new facelift had been limited to the lobby. As the theatre itself still remained the beatup, worn down spectacle it has been through the last two owners. Besides the still obvious damage from inconsiderate movie goings like the messy, sticky trash on floor, broken seats, that we could work our way around, the screen was still showing damage from over the years which, to me, was a constant distraction while trying to enjoy the film. Would have loved to have been able to give praise to a local movie house attempting to rebuild itself, but after numerous disappointments from the the regal ownership to the new flagship ownership, I just cannot foresee myself or family members returning to eastpoint cinemas in the foreseeable future, and cannot recommend attendance for anyone else. read more
