Would not recommend this business. Everything they touched in my house has been installed…read moreincorrectly and I've had to pay professionals to redo it. This company did a new install for a central ac system. It worked for one year before it started sporadically powering down and giving error codes. We called them back to try to fix it and Lance and team could not figure out the issue. He billed me for the repair.. on an issue he did not resolve. The unit continued not working as intended until a different company was called to look at the system from top to bottom. It was discovered that KS mechanical installed the unit using all of the wrong electrical components so the unit was not receiving enough power. Because of this multiple components of the unit began to fail and needed replacing. Once this was done the unit has worked great. This company also installed a Roth oil tank that began to give problems a few years after installation. At this point, I was uncomfortable calling KS mechanical to work on anything in my home. We called a different company and turns out the oil tank was installed incorrectly also. Please beware using this company!

I renovated my home and decided I didn't want a steam boiler and individual large air conditioners…read morealong with steam radiators for heat but still needed both Heat and Cooling. I contacted Amerikhomes and made an appointment for Leon to swing by to get an opinion on a new system. He came on time and recommended a mini split system as the solution which would be my primary source for both heating and cooling. We agreed on a system and moved forward with the installation. He ran the piping/wiring and drainage for the units in each room but didn't mount the units until the sheetrock was up. Once the sheetrock was up, he mounted the units and brazed the piping. He advised fittings was not the way to go because as time passes, it may produce a leak and because all the piping is inside the wall, it'll be very difficult to get to whereas brazing is more a permanent connection so he sealed each location via brazing. This was not a 1 time visit. The installation required a multitude of visits to complete. Once everything was installed and ready to be powered on, we went ahead and briefly tested it. The A/C was blowing ice cold and the Heat was nice and warm. No issues during the summer with the A/C but when winter came, a serious problem started to occur. In heat mode, the defrost came on which in itself is not unusual but what was is the fact that it would not turn off. The defrost cycle continued to run to the point where the inside units would start building up frost and ice and the only way for the unit to start heating up again was if you turned off all the indoor units and turned them back on. I contacted Leon to inform him and he couldn't find any issues with his work and that it has to be the unit. Justifiably, he will have to charge me to troubleshoot the unit to pinpoint the problem. For months, Leon and the vendor went back and fourth pointing out the possible causes for the issue but the vendor continued blaming Leon's work and Leon kept explaining that the issue was with the unit so they would not pay him to troubleshoot the unit itself. At this point, we were at the "tail end" of winter and ended up putting up with powering down all the units and powering them back on when the defrost issue started. It took months back and fourth with the vendor and manufacturer that winter had already passed and heat was no longer needed. Towards the end of summer I decided to take matters into my own hands and go based on what Leon mentioned to me being possible causes. he told me that it could be one of 3 things. Either a bad thermistor, a bad controller board or not enough Freon. Well, I know the charge was good because Leon had tested the unit countless times in front of me and the PSI was the same each time. I started with the cheapest item which was to purchase 3 thermistors. Tested each new thermistor and swapped them out. Upon testing the old ones, I found them to be functioning correctly but decided to leave the new ones in place anyways. Well... If the Thermistors were good and the PSI was within range, then the only other item according to Leon is the Controller board but would have to pay out of pocket since the manufacturer would not take responsibility and would charge me $678.00 for the controller. Keep in mind that i already spent thousands on the unit and the installation just to spend spend loads more on an expensive part for a brand new unit less than 1 year old. I refuse to further fund the manufacturer and decided to get the part on my own. I found a controller board from china for less than half the cost the manufacturer charged me. The part arrived ~ 3 weeks after I purchased it and went ahead that same day to swap it out. I took pictures of each part to make sure I put everything in the right place once disassembled. Long story short, I completed the swap. Also had to "de-bug" the system for it to recognize the indoor units. The whole process took me a good 3 hours. It was not cold enough to test because the temps outside were in the mid 60's so I had to wait until it got colder to turn the heat on. 3 weeks have passed where the heat needed to be used and finally started using the heater. After crossing my fingers, the unit, after 4 hours of being ran went into defrost (as it should) but came out of it as it supposed to do. It has been 3 months and not a single time did the defrost get stuck. LEON WAS RIGHT! Despite not charging me for the work/advice, he gave me the information to figure out what the problems could be. I have to say Leon was excessively patient during this whole headache and charged me not a penny more than the cost for the installation. Most installers would have said "everything on my end is good. Good luck dealing with the manufacturer" but Leon stuck around through the rough patches. He is fair on price, knowledgeable and patient. I will always use him for future reference anything HVAC related... I advise/recommend you to do the same.

I heard a hissing noise, which I followed and I'll be darned, there was water on the basement floor, which I traced to have been coming from the hot water heater. Panic mode set in. I called a local repair guy and he couldn't come until Sunday. NG. My first call was to Ferguson's plumbing Supply (formerly Blackman's), told them what the problem was, gave them all the specs about my water tank and they said they had it but they were closing at 12 noon. Made several phone calls, and they either went into voice mail or they couldn't be bothered. The main reason was that I was providing my own water tank. Less money to be made. Somebody that was not readily available, recommended Anthony from APV Mechanical. He called me, I told him my predicament and we agreed on a price. He gave me a time frame and his people showed up as promised. After I had agreed with Anthony to do the job, received several phone calls, and when I told them I already had someone, they underbid him by a couple hundred but I had promised Anthony that no matter what, he had the job. Ran like a maniac and purchased the WH, and Anthony and his people installed it in less than 3 hours, and my life went back to normal. Anthony and his people were very considerate, honest, efficient, very affordable, and pretty clean as his crew made sure that all the water was gone and ensure that both, my boiler and hot water heater were working. Based on my experience with Anthony and his company, I would recommend him, no questions asked.

My upstairs zone AC air handler stopped working during this crazy September heat wave with temps consistently in the 90s all week. Called for an emergency service repair to try to get me up and running. They were able to squeeze me in only 2 hours after calling. Service call rate was extremely reasonable (half the price of others I called that weren't able to get to me for at least a day - even as an "emergency"). Inspected my condenser coil and pressure, air handler coil, and blower motor. Diagnosed blower motor control unit on the fritz / starting to fail, combined with super high head pressure due to clogged condenser unit coil. Was able to get me back up and running cleaning coil and jump starting blower motor within 30 minutes and unit cooling much better than it was before to hopefully get me through this heat wave before cooler fall temps come back. While they were here they were able to measure and run some calculations to put together an estimate for me to convert my upstairs zone over to a ducted heat pump setup, relocating my air handler for my second story upstairs zone to my attic from my basement and better plenum / air box design to help resolve lack of airflow issues also contributing to inefficient cooling upstairs vs replacing the blower motor in a 12 year old unit as a cheaper option. With that said service rep was very knowledgeable and transparent regarding the different options and cost effectiveness. Never felt like I was being pressured or sold in any direction, only given details to make an informed decision. Hoping when I get the estimate back to convert this zone to heat pump, taking advantage of various rebates (federal and state / PSEGLI as they are an approved contractor for utility rebates to stack), alongside attractive financing options to help with monthly budget crunch due to overall inflation from pandemic, that will be able to upgrade and save money in the long term vs trying to keep my 12 year old less efficient Rheem system running. Definitely going to continue to use Central air systems for service and preventative maintenance going forward! I will provide an update once I have the heat pump installed, but given my extremely positive service experience, hopeful that value on install and overall performance is also a 5 star experience. My pets thank you for helping to keep us cool during this heat wave Will!
