After buying a house with a complex radiant heating system consisting of 14 zones, I lost heat in…read moretwo of the zones shortly after moving in. Because of the complexity of the heating system, l wanted to find an HVAC expert that was familiar with such systems. I reached out to Surefire Mechanical (based largely on the many positive reviews that they have on Home Advisor), and Jason and his team showed up promptly. They diagnosed and fixed the problem (two of the circulation pumps had burned out). Further, they noticed that my heating lines were full of rust and other sediment due to the fact that I am on well water and the lines are constantly topped-off with water that is high in sediment, minerals and metals. This was preventing the circulatory pumps from running efficiently and causing them to burn out prematurely. As such, we decided to install a whole house water filter (that I purchased from Amazon), which Jason installed seamlessly. Jason also flushed all of the water in the 14 zones (many of which were becoming clogged) so that the lines contained only filtered water (without the high sediment, minerals and metals content). We have not had any circulation pump issues since, and our water quality has been immensely improved. In addition to the work above, I have used Surefire Mechanical for several other HVAC needs, including servicing my oil burner and hot water heater, rerouting my plumbing in order to relocate a washer and dryer, fixing a leak in my shower plumbing, and servicing my central air conditioning units. I highly recommend Jason and Surefire Mechanical for your HVAC needs. After 2+ years of using them, they always show up promptly and fix any problems efficiently.

Jason came out for a AC replacement visit...looking to do a heat pump. This was one of the competitive quotes I was getting and he came very highly recommended from the neighborhood group. And indeed, he took at look at the system, had some excellent words of advice, solid observations about the demands and opportunities for the system, and said he'd get a quote over to me soon. I left that call with him ranked in the top 2, if not the top, of the service calls. But it's been weeks later and I've had the opposite experience. I called to leave a message on the business line...no response for days. Called again, and and started to talk with the front of house person, and our line was disconnected (at least that's me giving the benefit of the doubt at first). Then I called back, and she actively hung up on me. In fact, called again, hung up on again. I ended up leaving another message...two I think. But the calls are simply not returned. Not sure what's going on, but I have to take my business elsewhere. YMMV

I wish every service company operated like Napolitano Heating and Air Conditioning.  I have a 7…read moreyear old Navien tankless water heater that was beginning to worry me.  Some of the parts on the manifold became corroded and I got nervous traveling on vacation with the concern I'd come home to a flooded basement.  Navien stopped manufacturing the manifold. How a 7 year old part can be considered obsolete, doesn't speak well of Navien, but that's another issue. I was told by a prior Navien certified plumber that I should replace the unit for 10k or he could try to custom build the manifold, however the plumber didn't exude the confidence that Mike did and his quote was also a lot higher than Napolitano's.  Once hired, Mike was a man on a mission.  He not only rebuilt the manifold, he made it look easy (trust me it was not) and on top of this, he was meticulous, kind and patient.  Prior to leaving he noticed a problem on my baseboard bleeders and replaced them for a nominal fee. My heater is working like a charm, I am very pleased. I trust Mike implicitly with heating and air conditioning systems, he's done a couple of repairs on my aging system always for a fair price.

He was able to work me into his busy post-holiday weekend schedule, and arrived within 45 minutes of my initial call to Christensen to request service. William and Charlie were prompt, extremely friendly, and explained everything they needed to do, and even helped me resolve a basement flooding issue I was having after recent heavy rains, which turns out is a gutter clogging issue, at no additional cost. William showed me exactly what had happened to my copper piping and also described what he was going to do to fix the issue. In less than 30 minutes, William and Charlie had my issue resolved, so the entire situation, from first call to service, was resolved in less than 2 hours. The cost of the service was shockingly low compared to other emergency plumbing issues I have had in the past. I will absolutely be using Christensen for future plumbing emergencies and repair.

I have been in the design and building industry for 4 decades and I rarely come across such opportunistic behavior as the one I experienced with my interactions with Brian of Twin Air. We bought a newly built house this January 2024. The house was built by Twin forks construction company in 2023 and finished sometime in April 2023. The owner had to moved out of state so they sold it only having lived in it for the weekends of the summer and fall of 2023. Less than a year to date!. We entered the house January 5, 2024 and immediately realized that the Nest thermostat installed for the HVAC system is doing whatever it wants, raising the temperature and lowering it at will, but we had heat so it was not urgent. We figured we would address it next time the HVAC people were over to discuss the new items I wanted to discuss with them. I had contacted Brian of Twin Air to come out and see us because we wanted to make some modifications and additions to the system in our plans to expand the home. After I spoke to him once early January when he did not know what his schedule would be, he never called me back although I left numerous messages. About once a week I would call and leave a message if someone can get in touch with me to discuss the changes I wanted to make. Finally a lady in their office picked up who told me she was away for 2 weeks and maybe that is why people Were not as responsive and she asked what was the visit for to let Brian of Twin Air know; so I gave her a short list. Never heard back from anyone. They never came and I never met them in person. This past weekend, February 23-25 the HVAC system stopped producing heat and regardless what temperature we set the thermostat to, it stayed at 61-64 degrees maximum. It was thankfully not cold one. Now this became an emergency so I called Twin air, who finally called me Monday, not during the weekend, only to say that my system is out of warranty and that they would charge me $165 for the visit since I am the second home owner and that they can only come this Thursday!!! Imagine you are in your home with jackets hats and scarfs and the company that installed the system not even a year ago tells you that they have an opening 5days later..... and you have to pay for The visit... after the first month the system has experienced continuous usage for heat. The previous owner forwarded me an email where Brian was stating in April 10,2023 that he "just finished the work last week"; hence April ,2023. Today Brian tells me that the work was finished in January 3rd when clearly that is not true and that he conveniently does not remember who installed the Nest thermostat, although it is stated by him that he left the Nest box on the boiler", in the same email to the previous owner. Needless to say he did want to come and troubleshoot the system under warranty but even so, he never confirmed he could fix the thermostat that he claimed he did not remover who installed it. You can make your own assertions from this story, however, I want to stress to anyone out there looking to do work with this company that they should think three times before hiring them. They might seem nice at first glance but you don't know what they will do when something goes wrong if you are lucky enough to get them to respond on the phone.
