Each time I visit Fix Auto it is a rare & welcome experience! No one wants to go to an auto body repair shop but when you must, this is the place to go. My first time there was because my new car was rear ended & badly damaged. It was expertly repaired back to new and Aaron jumped through hoops to get the parts, while keeping me informed the entire time. They worked with my insurance company making the whole ordeal easier. Another time the front, left panel of my car was scraped & had lots of white paint on it. That too was quickly repaired at a fair price. My most recent visit was to get a trailer hitch put on my new car. My insurance company sent me to this shop for repairs. This was the worst experience ever just waisted my time. The person who did the initial estimate at Fix auto in San Francisco was not honest and lowballed the price knowing he couldn't repair the car for that low price but did this for the insurance company. Because of this inaccurate estimate now I'm having to wait until a different person from insurance now has to approve the real coast. I've been taking cars there (including under their prior name F. Lofrano & Son) for many years, and their work is always the best. Today I stopped in there, without an appointment, for them to look at my recently-separated right rear fender panel. Greg had his assistant Sam look at it. She spent about 1/2 hour fixing the panel about 95% perfect (I'd have to replace the whole rear bumper for a 100% fix). Sam didn't charge me anything and even refused a $20 bill I offered directly to her. What a great place. read more

Feeling uneasy and unsure what to do, I called Fix Auto for a competitive quote (and on a recommendation from a friend) and Greg suggested I come by. I have used these people on several occasions with my last car. The other day they blew my mind going above and beyond their exemplary customer service. I had met up with a bad curb near my house in the dark and totally messed up the side of my car, scraping off a piece of it in the process. With a heavy heart and my fallen off piece, I made my way to F. Lofrano and Son in the morning to see what it would cost me to fix it. They were super busy. But the nice lady in the office came out and took a look. She had one of the technicians come look at it and within 15 minutes he had completely fixed it, putting the piece back on and doing some clever thing with a zip tie. It looked like it had never happened!!! And they didn't charge me a thing! They really are the best, and they are really good people with heart. read more

I got into a car accident damaging the driver side rear door and back bumper. I chose this place from my insurance list of shops and I made a huge mistake going with them. The bumper is not fully attached and you can see the space between where the bumper should attach the bumper it self. I took it back and they weren't able to do anything about it. Not sure if they are too lazy or they can't legitimately fix it and if that is case, why are you an auto body shop?. They told me it would not affect the car in anyway. My dad who is a mechanic knows there might be issues with this kind of thing checked to see if water could get in through the space. He checked the inside of my trunk after a car wash and it was wet. We took the car back again and they continue to refuse to do anything about it. I am contacting my insurance again and hopefully the insurance makes them do something about it. read more

Crunch crunch! My car got hit in the infamous San Rafael Trader Joe's parking lot last week. Not fun. Luckily Greg, Sam and the rest of the staff made this such an awesome experience! I called and scheduled an appointment with Fix Auto last week. By the time I pulled into the lot, the estimator was already there to greet me. He checked things out, and I was on my way in less than 15 minutes. The parts needed to fix my bumper were available the following week. I scheduled my car to be dropped off and walked over to a nearby rental car place they recommended. Within the day I was updated on the situation, and received a call the following day that the work was already done. They even returned my car nice & clean! As I was driving away, an employee told me to exit left to avoid the morning rush hour traffic if I had exited right. (Above and beyond service!)
