I filed a claim with our insurance since this was a hit and run and the jerk that hit our car did not leave a note. I experienced vandalism on my car, and my insurance company told me to contact this repair shop to give them a heads up on my vehicle coming in. For context, someone tore off the back of my side mirror, so the wires are visible. It has been raining the last couple of days, and I have no idea if my car was damaged elsewhere because of that. When I initially started my car, my "Check Engine" as well as battery light popped up. I also wasn't able to start my car's ignition. I relayed all of this information to both my insurance company as well as the repair shop. The man that answered the phone(don't recall his name) told me that they would and could not work on my vehicle if it was a mechanical issue. I was already in a confused and stressful state since I couldn't make it to my work visits because of this situation. I also was(and still am) unsure of my car's issues. Once the man insisted I take it to a mechanic instead, I contacted my insurance again. I also decided to try to start my car up again. This time, the "check" lights were now gone and I was able to start my ignition. I decided to call the repair shop again to get their opinion on what I should do. The man, again, said I could drive my car to the shop and there would be a possibility they would turn me away if they deemed that a mechanic should work on it. I was a bit confused because even though my car was able to start, I did not feel safe enough to drive it to the shop. When I asked more questions, I received a sigh as well as passive aggressiveness. From there, I decided to not waste any more time dealing with this shop. All I wanted was some help and respect, and I did not receive that at all from them. I am now seeking help elsewhere. read more

About a week ago at 7am, I discovered a note on my car that was placed under the wipers. It read, "I'm sorry I hit your car. Please call my mom". I was parked on the street. The damage to the back bumper was significant. It was drivable so I thought I would call "mom" while driving to work. She apologized profusely for her 18 year old son who was visiting his girlfriend around the corner the night before. He was parked behind me and thought he was in reverse when he was trying to pull away from the curb. He was obviously in drive and smashed the hell out of my car. I used her insurance to get my car fixed as she accepted the liability for her son. I was referred to Fix Auto by her insurance for repairs. (over 2k!) This was a well run, efficient and very clean body shop. The process was very quick and they provided a shuttle to the car rental place. I was even able to drop the rental off right at the body shop when I picked up my car. I was originally promised a two day time frame to get the work done but that extended to three days when they accidentally had the parts shipped to a different body shop. They updated me frequently via text and also called a few times and left voice messages. Their work was very thorough. We did at least three walk-arounds and listed all of the work that needed to be done. They even hammered out my license plate which was bent. I felt good here--they are an honest business. read more

Estimate was done quickly, all insurance paperwork handled by them and booking an appointment was convenient to my schedule. And, my car was finished early and looks brand new, fully detailed as well. Matt's Auto Body is a USAA certified repair shop which is a big deal: USAA is the nation's largest private insurance company and their standards are extremely high. I believe there's only one other shop in the city that's USAA authorized for auto body work. Matt's Auto Body is immaculate and judging from the number of high-end and vintage cars (including an impeccable late 70s-era Mercedes coupe, a Rolls Royce and many BMWs and Mercedes), they have picky customers who can afford the best and come here. That said, there were many makes and models, not just luxury cars. I saw plenty of Toyota's, Honda's, Hyundai's and Subaru's. I don't recommend this business. I've used them twice. Both times they agreed to save my carpool stickers when replacing a bumper and both times didn't, despite my saying it was important and them noting it down. When I went to pick up the car the second time I saw they hadn't replaced a license plate cover that was cracked in the accident, and there were a couple of large scratches on the hood that hadn't been noted in their pre-repair inspection. There was alot of mansplaining about how those scratches wouldn't have shown up in the rain, blah blah blah. Finally when I said I was going to write a yelp review they decided they would get a new license plate cover and said they could fix the scratches if I brought the car and left it for another 2 days. Huh? I said no to the scratch repair but asked them to mail me the license plate cover. They said they would. It never happened. read more

Great beginning-to-end service and job on my Jaguar (rear/side-fenders damaged in a hit & run). Read a lot of reviews before-hand and was worried about picking one blindly, but after this experience, hands-down would return. Fix Auto Folsom was on State Farm's service provider list. Once I 'picked' Fix Auto Folsom on their site for an estimate, their office called immediately to schedule. Jesse & Team were exceptional. He was pleasant and with COVID, very specific about masking, distancing (where to sit/wait). I had an estimate in 15 minutes. He was ready to start on the vehicle near immediately, with an estimated finish of 3 days-- with transparency that potentially more damage could be found upon removing the exterior fender. Called and kept me updated of work progress. With additional work, I had the car back in 5 days. Paint match (which I worried about) was fantastic. Very efficient- they dealt directly with State Farm, so I'm done and never had to get involved. Would definitely recommend! read more

Dealing with personal nightmare after nightmare lately, I had to bring in my 2017 4Runner after being rear-ended in Oakland by an uninsured motorist who also lacked a US drivers license. Was directed here as it is a USAA-approved shop and my insurance would work directly with them. Made an appointment for an estimate, met with Jessie for a quote. He sent the estimate over to my insurance and we have an appointment to drop my car off the following week as I was due to head out of town. Confirmed my scheduling conflicts with Jessie and he said it wouldn't be a problem, and if I needed someone else to grab my car for me while I was out of town, it would be fine. Car was ready on time / early, and I have a fantastic friend who went to go pick it up for me. Friend said it was super easy, and Jessie was expecting him. I waited to write this review till I was back in town and could assess the work done. Had a chance to review it yesterday and car is looking FRESH. New bumper and side panel look great, and the car was washed and looked brand new (they even vacuumed out the inside too). TL;DR: Customer service- 11/10 - Jessie is amazing and made this whole nightmare much more bearable. Work - 11/10 - car looks great - and was returned clean. From beginning to end, Fix Auto Folsom worked with my insurance company and was incredibly communicative through the whole process, but was empathetic and understanding of my personal needs and scheduling issues. I have used these guys several times for auto repairs following collisions etc. They always charged very high prices but my insurance covered it so I did not argue much. Their staff is quite friendly and easy to work with. The last visit, however, was different. I mentioned there was a problem that may or may not be related to one of their past repairs. They got very defensive. I asked them to look up the last repair but they said it was more than 6 months so it was not longer in their electronic records (What??? Really???). They said the part I needed was broken beyond repair and would cost 1000$ for a new one. My low mileage Honda was brought in for front end work, and the car was TORCHED by F. Lofrano & Son. This sounds like scene from the 3 Stooges, but it is something that is too ridiculous to make up. We get a call after about 2 weeks of being in the garage that they had an "incident". The incident turned out to be a fire inside the car while they were welding the front end. The car was totaled and deemed irreparable. The "incident"occurred on a Friday and they waited until Monday to notify us of their incompetent, if not criminal behavior. The manger told us they didn't notify us until Monday because he didn't want to "ruin our weekend". Unbeknownst to us, they made a deal directly with Honda leasing and we were left without a car. To add insult to injury, we received a $1550 bill from their lackeys for storage! You cannot make this stuff up. read more

I brought in my rear-ended BMW which was in pristine condition prior to the accident. Don explained the process and assured me the car will be in mint condition again. They finished a day early and I have to say the work is impeccable. The bumper looks like new with a perfect match on the paint and body panel alignment down to the mm. Before Josh told me to come in, I was being tossed between auto shops telling me they couldn't even look to see what the problem with my window was until next week. I knew that the window was most likely installed incorrectly by a previous shop in norcal and just needed a shop here to take a look and fix the problem. Josh is super knowledgeable and immediately began helping me and explaining what was installed incorrectly by the previous shop. He fixed it up in no time, replaced the screws that the previous shop had forgotten to put back, and even replaced a burnt lightbulb. It's obvious that Josh and others working at this shop genuinely want your car to be at its best. They're not just out for your money and they actually know what they're doing!! I went there for fixing the broken tail light and small dent at the rear bumper. I was so surprised by the estimate for $3,000 and then added another $300 when fished the job. But the most devastation is I came in with 6 diagnosis error codes but came out with 8, and a broken oil sensor. And they refused to take responsibility on the broken sensor which I have to go to somewhere else to fix. Pricy and non professional. I really regret to choose them to repair my car. read more

I've never required the services of a body shop for a personal vehicle before. Milton and Steve are well known in the industry for the excellent work that Matt's reliably produces. Even if nobody really knows who Matt is, they represent the company very well. However, I never thought I would need a body shop for my precious Subaru, yet always said "if my car were to ever need body work, Matt's is the first place I'm taking it to". Their estimates are often higher than other SF body shops. But when insurance is paying for it, that doesn't really matter as your insurance can only require you to get one estimate from a body shop, and are not able to force you into using one of their own. They are also listed as a preferred vendor of several major insurance companies, including trusty USAA. However, If you're paying out of pocket, I'm sure they would be willing to work with you as well. When you drive into their beautiful shop, you'll see why their labor rates are what they are. This is the cleanest body shop that you'll ever step foot in. The smooth epoxied floors are damn near clean enough to eat off. Which is especially amazing considering how much dust a body shop produces during the day. My precious Red Rocket was rear ended recently. As is always the case when you're banged in the ass, it was the other party's fault. Once the insurance mess was finalized, Matt's was the first and only place I called. They took care of my Subie and got her back to 100% in no time. Even though I do not live nearby, I jumped through the hoops of dropping it off before work and dreading the horrendous 2+ hour drive home in shitty Bay Area traffic. All for the simple satisfaction of knowing that my baby would be taken care of. The end result was nothing short of exceptional. I have the good fortunate of being able to inspect my own vehicle on a hoist. They completely and properly replaced everything that was damaged. You almost couldn't tell it had ever been hit except for some minor sheetmetal work to the spare tire well. The Garnet Red Pearl paint was effortlessly matched to the original. I've seen some shoddy paint work in my day and this is the polar opposite of that. That gorgeous Legacy hasn't looked this good since the day it rolled off the assembly line in Lafayette, Indiana. Matt's goes above and beyond when detailing the vehicles after repairs are finished. Wash, polish, vacuum, the whole shebang. This attention to detail, not only in the quality of work, but in customer satisfaction, is what truly sets Matt's apart from the other also-rans in the industry. Worst. Experience. Ever. The back story: So my new car was innocently parked up the block from my house, when an 87-year-old woman decided to slam into the back of it with her ginormous Mercedes sedan. She hit it so hard, the car was pushed forward, up onto the curb, and almost through the wall of the nearby post office, taking out a metal sign post and ripping a bike rack out of the concrete with my front fender/bumper. Every body panel was damaged except for the doors. I called AAA, who gave me the name of their "approved" shop in my area. Silly me, I trusted them, and arranged for my baby to be towed there. When my husband and I went to the shop to discuss what needed to be checked, the person we spoke with said he didn't think the frame needed to be checked, and that they didn't have the equipment to do a frame check, anyway. Thinking it was because of the expense, I tried to explain to him the dynamics of the impact, that I was concerned about the frame, my safety and the car's future drive-ability, that it would all be covered by insurance, and that if they didn't have the equipment he could send the car out to be checked over someplace else, then do the rest of the work in-house. He just kept repeating the same thing -- The frame didn't need to be checked, and he could fix the damage. Over and over. Louder and louder. Regardless of anything I or my husband said. Finally, he told me that if I wanted the frame checked I should probably go to some other shop. I agreed. That was probably the best decision I could have made! My car is now safely in the hands of a more reputable shop, who have the equipment and no problems checking the frame for my safety. If you just want bodywork done, I'm sure they're perfectly competent--just don't try to get them to think outside of the box !! read more

So incredibly happy to have been recommended to this place by AAA.. I unfortunately am an unlucky driver who has had to take my car into body shops several times in my driving lifetime. I used to go to Karry's Auto Body Shop but after a so-so experience with them last year, I decided to give a new body shop a chance. My poor Prius got hit in a parking lot by an elderly man who admitted to not seeing me as he was backing out and hit my passenger rear door. The AAA agent that was helping me with my claim told me that they will have to investigate liability even though the man already verbally admitted fault. They told me to get photos and an estimate while we wait to see if the other insurance party will accept full liability and I won't have to pay a deductible. I took it in a few days later on a whim since I was in the area. Mind you, my car was a MESS since I had no time to clean it and didn't anticipate anyone seeing my car. I thought, meh, they don't need to do anything inside, it'll be fine. I was helped by Milton who offered to start the repair even without the approval of AAA so I could get it faster. A few days later, I get a call from AAA saying that the estimate has been approved and they contacted MABS to start the repairs. Little do they know, they had already started and was just a day away from getting my car. I got my car earlier than the time Milton had told me it would be done and it was literally like brand new!! My car was completely clean inside out. They put all my things in a bag, and vacuumed the interior of my car. Seriously exceeded all my expectations. I almost feel like they fixed some scratches here and there that were unrelated to the accident. Thanks Matt's Auto Body Shop! These guys have 5 stars for a reason. Mixed feelings about Matt's. They do fantastic work on the core body work and paint. Really, their paint work is stellar. Off the core stuff, I have been disappointed. I have had trim pieces removed incorrectly and damaged. I've had electrical systems not re-connected (window won't open). And they've done a bad job of clean up. I've taken vehicles to Matt's twice and both times they had to be detailed afterwards, because there was so much paint dust left inside and out. So, great paint work (really great), belittled by sloppy work on the easy stuff. And at Matt's prices, everything should be perfect. read more
