We've had breakfast/brunch and lunch here. The space is beautiful and very open with high exposed ceilings. There is a nice outdoor seating area for when the weather is nice. The prices are a little high, especially for breakfast, but the food is good and service is usually prompt. read more

Awesome place! Great atmosphere and staff. The Cajun pasta, Alfredo, and desserts are specifically our favorites. Don't skip on the drinks, they have a great selection of unique choices. Love this place for a drink or dinner. read more

This place is fantastic. The food, service, and ambiance get 5 stars. We live in California and make an effort to come here whenever we're in town. read more

Food and service was great. We sat on the outdoor patio and found the environment to be welcoming and friendly.

We had an awesome time @ Five West! Comfortable atmosphere, great drinks, food & service! The won tons are a classic favorite! We had the seafood pasta which was so good. Would order both again and look forward to dining in at Five West again! We will definitely support our Five West & SMOAK with take out during these next 4 weeks! read more

Cool upscale vibe environment. Great service and TVs for sports at the bar area, good selection of craft beers! I ordered the pork chops with Yukon potatoes and spinach which were amazing and the price was good to which was surprising! Definitely be back! read more

We along with our good friends ate at 5 West this past Sunday evening and had a wonderful time. The food was very tasty.....we all cleaned out plates. Our server was great and had personality. We will be back again soon! read more

I've been eating here right now since Five West first opened. I felt like the first year the food and service was excellent. I would have given them five stars but now over several years of patronage I unfortunately would have to say both the food and service has taken a downward turn. I do enjoy many of their menu items but the quality and consistency of most of these items is not what it used to be. I used to go there as much as once a week now maybe twice a month. I was hopeful that due to Covid restrictions, therefore less seating and less busy that the service and food preparation would get better but it has not. It used to be one of my favorite places to bring family or friends from out of town, unfortunately no we are hassled to go downtown. I am hopeful that this changes or I can't see eating there but maybe a handful of times in a year as there are competitive restaurants joining the community. read more

Great spot to eat and great environment. They have indoor and outdoor seating with a bar inside and outside along with multiple TVs. Good choices for food and also a good spot for breakfast. read more

Talk to Phil the evening bartender and order an Iron Butterfly, you won't be disappointed. The chips and queso make a great bar time snack. If you are stopping by during the day ask to sit in Ambers section and enjoy great service. The fish tacos are fantastic. read more

I got the chicken avocado melt sandwich, it was good. The chicken had great flavor, but the sandwich brought one small slice of tomato and one slice of avocado. For the price of the sandwich, you would expect a decent amount of tomato or avocado. Fries were delicious. read more

Great place for date night--dinner and cocktails. The salads here are sooo good! Brunch here is amazing too!

Excellent bar service but the food falls way short of the price you pay to eat here. Overpriced and food is mediocre to say the least.

There aren't many vegetarian options but the ones they have are absolutely delicious! I am so happy I decided to stay where I am, otherwise I may never have had sich a nice dinner. The hummus plate had fresh olives, tomatoes and cucumbers with warm, slightly crisp pita bread. The edamame with lemon aioli was one the most delicious appetizers I've ever eaten. Wine was splendid. A great stop and atmosphere however I hate the TVs read more

Five West has a ton of potential. The place has great atmosphere, good drinks, nice food presentations, service was very good. Where they fell short was execution. I ordered the bbq beef short rib, the rib was very good flavor but the mashed potatoes were cold. By the time i was able to flag down the server my meal was half eaten. Once the server knew about it he brought me a bowl of steaming hot mashed potatoes. So hot I couldn't eat them. So I never had my entire meal eatable at one time. My wife order the fish tacos which were kinda bland. The biggest disappointment was the management I work in customer service arena and I would ALWAYS make sure the issue was addressed to the customers satisfaction but instead I watched two managers stand behind the counter and gab to each other for 20 minutes straight. They never even talked to us, not once. read more

Great atmosphere great food. Service is slow and staff always has an attitude. Has the best spinach artichoke dip! Be prepared to feel frustrated parking! read more

I didn't think I was going to like this place. I ordered a Chicken Fried Steak with Hashbrowns, which were crispy and tasty. I wish the plate came drenched in gravy, but I asked for extra so it wasn't an issue to get more :) The CFS was a little crispier than how we do it down south, and a little more gritty, but honestly the flavor was fine. I liked this meal, not southern style CFS, but it was a pretty decent meal. Portion was great for the price. Service was also wonderful. read more

Went on a Sunday morning for brunch. It's a pretty cool place. I had the veggie omelette with pancakes and they were both great. We got some caramel rolls as well, which were just ok. My husband had the pancake lasagna that he said was just ok - it didn't look great to be honest. Service was great! We would definitely go back! read more

Zero GLUTEN FREE options for such a high end place. Always have wanted to try breakfast there but can't. And when I went there for lunch or dinner the drink menu had more gluten free options read more

Has to be one of the best in rochester.. nice place and good food and variety of drinks. It is a bit too cool in the restaurant year round so being a light sweater or jacket even in summer :-/ read more

Breakfast is the only thing you should get here. Otherwise, the food is overpriced and not well done at all. I ordered scallop bacon carbonara once and the scallops were rubbery and the pasta sauce was thick and chunky. With a drink, my meal was roughly $40. Good ambiance and the patio is great but the food is seriously lacking in taste and is way too overpriced. read more

I wish the top reviews would stop mentioning "great ambiance" because this restaurant doesn't actually have it. The first time I visited for evening dinner and drinks, the music was completely off for the setting. Look, I'm a drinker but even I didn't know how many Michelle Branch songs I could tolerate while drinking a single cocktail. One song was fine. Two was kind of pushing it. And seven Michelle Branch songs made me want to vomit before I'd even had my second drink. Also, the set up of this place is so open that the sound carries in a way that you can hear basically everything that is said behind the bar from the booth-style seating in the middle of the restaurant. The second time I visited for brunch, BOTH hostesses did not seem to know what being a hostess means and acted like they were obliviously staring at the clouds to make out funny shapes instead of placing patrons at table during a busy Sunday brunch rush. They greeted us, and many of the people waiting around us, like they were confused as to why we'd step into this establishment to consider eating food. In a restaurant this large, the words "table for four" should not be the cause of an eye roll. The eggs benedict, possibly the greatest of breakfast foods, was the absolute most boring eggs benedict I have ever eaten and whoever cooked it clearly did not know how to poach an egg. Hollandaise is supposed to have flavor but this sauce tasted more like printer paper with a little bit of melted butter on it. The breakfast burrito was also cold on delivery and I hope the cook will consider cooking the inside next time. I don't know, guys. The patio of this place is just an unfortunate wind tunnel and when one of the umbrellas nearly blew over on a little girl the wait staff just stood around like "oh man! I should put this on snapchat!" I guess I would give it two stars because 40 minutes into the meal the waitress finally remembered to bring us our waters and water is the most important meal of the day. read more

Just ordered Thai Peanut Chicken. It was awful. Mushy and had no flavor. Not going to order there again!! Probably one of the worst meals I have ever eaten. Threw most of of away. read more

We went here for date night recently and it was wonderful! Food was fabulous and our server, Liz, was FANTASTIC! Support this business folks! read more

Way overpriced for what you get. Nice enough atmosphere but not worth the price. Average food, small portions, and very expensive.

What an absolutely beautiful space! Love all the natural light and the gorgeous bar as soon as you walk in! However the food and service couldn't have been more disappointing. My date and I sat at the bar and were greeted by the tall, blonde bartender (Stephanie?) and she could not answer any of our questions.. Not about the vodka they carried or what any of the dishes entailed. I understand that bartenders do not have as much training as servers when it comes to food, however for being a brand new restaurant (especially being a huge fan of the Loop) I would have hoped for a lot better. Received our food and it was average at best. I understand growing pains and I hope them the best in the future, however it was very disappointing that the service and food did not match the beautiful exterior and interior that is Five West. read more

Five West is an upscale & sophisticated environment serving some unique and interesting dishes, as well as some very common food items such as chicken tenders, pizza, burgers, nachos, sandwiches, mac & cheese and fries. The fish tacos were very good, the pizza was delicious and the salmon is fantastic. And our kids absolutely love their homemade mac & cheese, which I have to admit is pretty damn good. The prices are very reasonable, the service has always been good and the atmosphere is awesome. It's a very beautiful space and they clearly didn't cut any corners--all top-knotch materials and workmanship. Very stylish place, especially for Rochester. read more

Everything was AMAZING; the food, the ambience, the service! I ordered a phenomenal meatloaf sandwich that had a layer of delicious mashed potatoes! For my side, I opted for the brussel sprouts because they were cooked in honey. How could that be wrong? SWEET BABY JESUS. Nikki was super fun and knowledgeable and rocked bomb Easter colored nails! Ask for her and tip well! read more

Five West - Meatloaf sandwich with a side of brussel sprouts! - New American Near Me - Rochester, Minnesota

Very good restaurant from the same boys that opened the Loop. You can't go wrong here. Friendly service, awesome atmosphere and great food. I'd recommend their blackened chicken avocado melt, excellent . Only negative is the parking, could use a bigger lot. read more

Went here for lunch with my family. It's overpriced for the quality of food served in my opinion. I ordered the fish tacos which were flavorless. All I could taste was the spicy seasoning. I've had much better elsewhere. I also got sweet potato fries which were WAY too salty. I couldn't even eat them. Everyone else said their food was just OK. My dad enjoyed his burger, but for $14 I would sure hope so! We decided maybe it was just an off day and we will give it another shot at some point. But for now, this place is just OK. read more

Went in for breakfast. Had to ask hostesses to send waitress after 5 minute wait with not even water. Eggs were like rubber. Over cooked. Even English muffin was tough. Waitress never checked about the meal. Hash browns were good read more

Came for happy hour last night with friends, great drinks, they have it till 6. Buck off drinks and appetizers $2 off. We had the beef skewers and chicken wonton, great stuff. read more

Went for breakfast, Food was good and large portions too so we shared. The building if very noisy and prices are not bad as everyone said. Our waitress was great. The manager Spencer is kind of a jerk and blew off the men I was with. Over all I am not a fan and probably won't go but maybe 2 or 3 times a year. read more

Ate here for a coworkers retirement l lunch and it was very good. Be sure and try the grilled Cajun Cesar wrap. The atmosphere is very open and modern. I can't wait to come back in summer and try out the outdoor seating and bar. Pricing is higher than average. Great bloody Mary's too. read more

Great atmosphere and ambiance during the warm season. Food is not to be desired for. Beef short rib was so overcooked it was impossible to cut into pieces. Our server had no idea about the wine list. Fettuccine was overcooked as well. Would consider going back next year when the weather gets warm again for the atmosphere, for drinks only probably. I think the season is coming to an end this year for their nice outdoor patio. read more

Went for lunch on a Saturday. Menu was limited to breakfast items, burgers, wraps. To sum up: the cocktail was warm, the waffles cold, our appetizer arrived after the mains and the server forgot our water. The appetizer was taken off the bill. I will not go back. read more

I LOVE their brunch menu. My favorites are the S'more Waffle and the Corn Beef Hash. I can't say much about their dinner or lunch menus because I felt the options were alright and somewhat pricey for the quality. The portions are large, though. I would definitely recommend this place for brunch! read more

Nice ambience but the food quality has significantly declined over the past year. Meals are bland and barely warm. You'll pay a lot for mediocre food. read more

We visited for lunch. Service was efficient and friendly. There were great menu choices for our son and for us. My wife ordered chicken nachos, I had the walnut chicken salad, we shared the cauliflower popcorn, and our son had Mac and cheese. The walnut chicken salad was a modern classic--fresh arugula, perfectly roasted beets, crisp chicken, and a tangy mix of vinaigrette and chèvre cheese. The cauliflower popcorn melted in your mouth. My son's Mac and cheese was honest to goodness homemade comfort food. We were glad we tried here, and for not much more than a fast casual lunch at the usual suspects, it was well worth the visit. read more
