Recent addition to the area, it gets its name from its location being more or less equidistant from Rathmines, Rathgar, Harold's Cross, Kimmage and Terenure. It's a bit of a stretch but not too much. Anyway, 4 of us rocked up for brunch at 2 on Sunday. They don't take reservations so it was fingers crossed and, while they were busy, we did get a table immediately. Service was on the casual side and we had to summon a server after 10 minutes to take our order.
The brunch menu was limited but there was enough variety for all. We had French toast, chorizo eggs, rarebit and I had the Mexican eggs. They had run out of corn bread so I got some sourdough toast instead. No biggie. Whilst my meal was tasty enough, at €11.50, the portion was on the miserable side, basically two poached eggs on a minuscule portion of beans. My companions were Happy enough with their meals it has to be said. Coffees were indifferent.
In and out in an hour, it was ok rather than fantastic but I would return if only to sample a different, more substantial, dish because I do think they have a potentially good product here. read more
