Five or Free - Electricians Near Me - Sacramento, California

Replaced our OG breaker and upgraded to 200amp service. Work was good. I had to handle permitting from the city with regard to removing foliage around the line. I then got a nice additional invoice after work completed for their return visit. I understood it was all apart of the service - upgrade the panel, and problem solve when the old system struggled and kept popping the new 'smart' breakers. I also understood that any serious work would require an additional cost. So, surprised that a return visit would cost when I had no power in one bedroom and in the kitchen. Apparently that was not a part of the service. The 'smart' breakers on an older home are a nightmare. I do not recommend you go the route these people recommended for your older home. I've since had two other electricians perform work - the fault of this company? Not necessarily, but their lack of knowledge and transparency RE the likely issues caused by the upgrade is concerning. I didn't do my research. Please do yours! read more

Our technician, Allen Mena, was fantastic. He took care of our needs quickly and efficiently. His recommendations on products were spot on. Thanks Five or Free and Allen for great service! read more

Came out for a quote. Took some pictures and told me they'd call back. Never received a call back.

Just had a consultation with Job. He was great! Five and Free was incredibly fast, replied right away and messaged me via messages (which is what I prefer!). Scheduling was fast and easy. Job came out a little bit early, called and let me know. I was unable to meet him because of meetings and he waited until our scheduled time. Wore a mask, stood 6 feet away and was very respectful. He was knowledgable during the inspection and pointed things out and walked me through what he was doing. He also pointed out a problem with the house and informed me to contact my builder to get it fixed, completely unprompted. I felt like I was with someone who was knowledgable, understood the space. He was also not forceful about the sale at all. Other people I've dealt with will pressure you into deciding or doing the job on the spot. Not Job! He was very understanding. If you want someone who understands what they're doing and will do a professional job I recommend them fully. read more

Top things I liked about this experience: 1: Showed up in a mask out of respect for me and the safety of my family. 2: Completed a full inspection free of charge prior to providing the invoice and expert opinion. 3: Nothing felt forced or sale focused. It was an honest and professional exchange. 4: Very short turn-around from the time I called and the appointment. 5: Provided full explanation for what was being done and why. Also provided tips for the future as I am more of a do-it-yourself kind of person. Thanks for a great first impression and expert work. read more

Job did fantastic work with all the light fixtures outside and inside my home. He is very knowledgeable in his expertise. Kept my home neat while working and left everything clean the way it was before leaving. He is friendly and easy to talk to. Thank you for wearing your shoe covers and a mask. I appreciate your understanding! I will definitely call this company again for any future needs. read more

The service was excellent and our technician Job was very respectful, engaging and diligent about keeping our home clean. He used shoe covers and was sure to remove them when he went outside and put them back on upon re-entering our home (several times.) He thoroughly explained the assessment and what would be needed to complete the work. We even learned alot about electrical work too. We had 5 small jobs and only needed to have 4 done in the end. We will work with Five or Free Electrical Solutions again. Thank you Five or Free!!! The Bianucci Family Roseville, CA read more

Online scheduling was simple. Technician, Job, was on time, friendly and did a great job identifying the electrical issue and remedied a few more issues that were leftover from prior electrical work. Will definitely use in the future. read more

This company seems to think upselling a customer rather than figuring out the issue is better than taking pride in solving a problem! A $3000+ price tag equipped for replacing our obsolete unavailable breakers inside the 1960's panel (which I found out afterwards the local hardware as well as Amazon sell the same exact fixtures - which have been successfully delivered powered to our duplex since 1986) and completely re-wiring a 9' x 5' bathroom.... for a mere $3295+ Yikes NO THANKS!!! read more

I've been living in the Sacramento area for more than 7 years now, and haven't found a good electrical company, until now. I highly recommend Five or Free to anyone who needs work done no matter the size and scope of your project! The technician who came to my home was a pleasure to work with. Not only was he on time and very professional, but he was also extremely knowledgeable; he knew what he was doing and it shows! A big shout out to Job: thanks for your service! I'll definitely be calling you guys out again! read more

You guys did an Outstanding job!!!! Especially Damell and Eddy they came to our home in San Leandro, CA. Damell was very polite to us and treated us with respect. They both worked very hard as a team to get the job done. read more

I submitted a short message through Yelp about my issue and receive a response the next day scheduling a consultation. The technician, Job, arrived at the scheduled time and was very helpful. He explained everything and helped get us on our way. Very glad with the service. read more

I requested a quote and was able to set up a consultation the same week. Job was the worker who came to our house for the consultation. He came right on time and was able to fix the issue right away. He wore a mask and shoe booties the whole time and was respectful of our space. He was able to explain to my husband what work he was doing and was very open and honest. I definitely recommend this company to anyone who needs an electrician. Very impressed with the professionalism and prompt and quality service. read more

Joe did an exceptional job. He was on time, professional, and the communication from start of estimate to end of the job was definitely 5 stars!! If you have electrical work, hire them! They are knowledgeable, informative and fair pricing. read more

Just bought a townhouse, and the inspector had flagged several electrical issues, so I hopped on Yelp and searched for nearby electricians. Five or Free came up in my search, and they were very responsive, sending out Job to give me a free quote for the work required. He found all of the issues the inspector had written up in our report, plus an additional issue with wiring in the garage, and gave us a quote for each individual piece of the puzzle. One of the main problems we had on our to-do list was grounding all of the interior outlets, and he actually found and grounded the upstairs circuit for free during his first visit! During both the initial quote and on the day the work was performed, Job was thorough, professional, and got the job done in a reasonable amount of time. He made sure he answered all our questions before he was done, and showed us some of the damage he repaired and replaced (our stove was apparently wired up with a dryer plug and socket--gotta love those DIY folks, eh?). My husband and I are extremely happy with his work, and with the 17-year warranty! I will definitely be recommending this company, and Job in particular, to any friends who need electrical work done in Sacramento or surrounding areas. read more

Fantastic service from dispatch to service. I really liked the communication from everyone there and the ability to not only quickly determine the issue at my house, but the way that Gilbert explained it to me in a way that a non-electrician can understand. Five or Free is first on my contact list for any future electrical needs. read more

Can't comment on the quality of their electrical work but can comment on their prices. Had someone from their company come out and do an inspection for me. They did a very thorough job;however, the prices they quoted me for the work were astronomical. $800 to get a permit! I ultimately had the work done by another electrical company and they did all the work I needed for 4-5x cheaper than I was quoted by Five or Free (including the permit for $160). Highly recommend shopping around for prices before going with this company. read more

Our regular electrician was booked for weeks and we were hesitant to go with another place, but we' were pleasantly surprised when these guys were able to come out the next day. Didn't overcharge us and were able to get the job done quickly. Would definitely recommend five or free electrical! read more

They replaced our electrical box and did a good job. They replaced our bathroom fan, did a good job, but it was extremely expensive. If I knew how much it was going to cost, I wouldn't have had it done. read more

I hired Five or Free Electrical Solutions to repair and replace my front yard electrical outlet so I can mow my lawn with electric lawn mower. It cost me $175 to replace the outlet, I guess including service call fee, labor expense, and part. Change another one up the wall would have cost me another $175. Told me I have 17-year warranty. Hopefully, the company will still be in business 5 to 10 years from now. read more

Job the technician was great. He diagnosed an issue that my builder never installed correctly in minutes, and the price was extremely reasonable. Will never call anyone else. read more

First off, the same guy that discovered the issues actually repaired them. I appreciated having one expert to interact with. I felt a lot more confident about the work be completed accurately. Job, my technician, was on time, polite, thorough and competent. He never talked over my head or rushed the conversation, so I understood the problems and the possible solutions. I will call this company again without hesitation. Thank you, Five or Free. read more

I arranged to have a consultation with Five or Free Electrical Solutions and am VERY impressed. I met with the electrician Job. He came promptly at the agreed upon time which really started the appointment well. He then thoroughly checked on each item that needed attention. I felt relaxed because of his professionalism as a Mom at home. He was sure to keep his booties on and all the areas he was in were clean when he left. He carefully explained what I needed to fix my issues and what I did not need. I really appreciated his honesty as I know nothing of electrical. Because of this, I knew that they would not over charge me or give me something I did not need. He went over the Five or Free promise which really gives me a sense of confidence in using this company. After the appointment, I promptly got the invoice and customer packet. He also included pictures of all the areas he was looking at as well. As a Mom at home, I have to say that dealing with Five or Free was a breath of fresh air. I felt confident in their honesty and professionalism. I highly recommend Five or Free Electrical Solutions for any of your home electrical needs! read more
