New units are expensive but they can schedule a home advisor who can go over financing options if you decide to hire them.

I have been really skeptical of all HVAC companies in the past 5 years. I have been burned by so many HVAC techs and wasted so much money. 4 different companies went through with different shadiness levels giving me different answers for the same HVAC issue. Every company kept telling me my freon was low and i most likely had a leak. One company even told me to just replace my brand new system cause "it was from China" The Jaguar tech (Jeff) definitely gave me some disappointed head shakes at previous work but was the only one to truly put his head down, work, and diagnose the root cause of the issue. He checked every part of the system before he gave me an answer on what he believed was wrong. After the diagnosis he detailed every part of the HVAC unit (and attic unit) and explained to me what he was looking for, what he found, and what he believed was the answer. I never felt like he was up-selling me. It wasn't even a freon issue to begin with and the filter drier needed to be replaced. After another visit and a 4 hour procedure my HVAC unit has been running smoothly all Summer 2026. I will seriously only call this company from now on.

Overall, though, it was a very quick and seamless process.

He was very thorough and took a lot of reference photos and explained what he was doing. We agreed to look at getting a new system and set up a meeting with Kyle for later the afternoon. Kyle was also amazing and went over the pricing and options, you never want to pay for a new AC unit but it's a necessity here so and they made sure we had a great deal. When speaking after the fact my wife were very impressed with his knowledge, he spoke slowly, explained and answered all our questions in detail so we could easily understand. A very professional, honest, conscientious, hard working young man that we would have in our house again.

I was hoping to just get it serviced, but because of the age and the freon it used, I was informed that they no longer carry that freon due to it was no longer produced and that I might find a company that has it. Found one that was able to give me 2 more years and very much appreciated the honesty the A COOL AIR gave. November 2025 it was time to change it out. Made the appointment, received the estimate after inspection, was informed of the rebates both for SMUD as well as Federal Tax Credits and gave the go ahead. They had it installed in 2 days' time, and let me tell you, this new system? Makes me come to terms that I never really had a real one to begin with!!! I was given options to which one would work best for my unit (I live in a condo) and wasn't swayed one way or the other. Chose one, and I am SO THANKFUL I did! These few days in the 90's so far have given comfortable and cool air throughout my home and including my bedroom which never cooled off or heated up to the rest of the house. I held off on giving a review because I wanted to make sure the cooling worked and it does!!!! Compared to a "big box" store that quoted me the price of a new car, I'm beyond happy with A COOL AIR INC. and can easily recommend them for your heating and air needs! THANK YOU A COOL AIR INC.!

The service technician Christian arrived on time and courteously introduced himself and his service procedure. He used a handheld meter to measure pressures and other important data about the unit's performance. He showed me the results on his meter: a loss of pressure, probably because of a coolant leak. He laid out my options and answered my questions. After getting my approval, he replaced the missing coolant and added a dye kit that would help find the leak. He also mentioned the dye kit included a sealant that might close up any small leaks. After adding the coolant and dye kit, the HVAC unit quickly brought interior temperatures down. Short-term problem solved. Christian explained that AirMech offers a maintenance plan that I should consider. It pays for regular inspections and provides a 15% discount on the work he had just completed. I opted in. The money I saved that day will more than pay for a whole year of the maintenance plan. A couple weeks later, I called AirMech again to have them inspect the lines to look for leaks. Christian was my man again. He arrived bright and early and performed a visual check in the attic. Then he hooked up his meter to the outdoor HVAC unit. He showed me the results and interpreted them for me: all readings are in the "ideal" range. It looks like the dye kit with sealer did its job. And because I had opted into the maintenance plan, there was no charge for the visit. Long-term problem solved. AirMech's staff operated with professionalism and integrity. I will call on them for my future HVAC needs. And I hope I get Christian again!

Two word review: Honest, Responsive…read more This is my THIRD consecutive 5-star review for Rocklin Heating & Air. In the last 10 or so years in the area I've called RHA, one other place because they could get me to faster - had a bad experience, waited for RHA had an amazing experience, and decided they're going to be my ride-or-die for HVAC. I called them at 7am and by 11:30am their tech had fixed and tested everything and off to help someone else. Yesterday was the start of a heat wave and ... our AC unit quit on us. I called RHA as soon as they opened this morning at 7am, asked for Joe in particular, and they gave me a window between 10am and 12pm. Joe texted ahead of time at 10:30, diagnosed the blown capacitor, swapped it out, cleaned things up a bit, tested the coolant, answered a bunch of questions, and was on his way in just under an hour. The diagnostic was $129 and the capacitor was $186 today. By a complete and total coincidence, I had been running some experiments with home temperature sensors for the last week. You can literally see on these pictures exactly when the AC unit stopped working - and when RHA saved our bacon. The "other" place I called years ago only had a $79 diagnostic charge, but wanted to rip out and replace the entire HVAC system - and claimed we were taking our lives in our own hands by not getting it fixed with him immediately. Joe and RHA took care of everything for the diagnostic. Yeah, you can probably find someplace to charge you less for the diagnostic or maybe less for the part, but when your house is boiling hot / freezing cold, you want to be able to call on someone you can trust to help you out - and not take you for a ride.

He was very polite and got to work right away. Turned out to be a bad capacitor. Frank had everything we needed in his truck and was able to swap it out in no time. I met with the owner Mathew McGuire, who I found to be friendly, sincere, and someone who is vested in his business, his people, and working to ensure that he wins life-long customers with every job. I had done a lot of research with AI, so I knew my options well (that research was very helpful and I'd highly recommend doing it in advance of having people out to give you pricing). I had no intention of beating up each of the companies, I simply asked for their best pricing and options. I used AI to carefully review each bid in detail, including the proposed equipment and how appropriate it was for our home. All companies gave solid bids, but there was a very large spread between the highest and lowest. That usually concerns me, but all my research about American Energy indicated that they were a solid, competitive company. It was a big investment, but I ended up converting to an electric heat pump and also getting all our ducting replaced. We have a 2750 sf single-story home with 17 vents, so the new ducting was nearly as much as the system itself. That said, the ducting has made so much difference in terms of balancing the temperature throughout the house, which was a real probelm with the old system. The new system is extremely quiet and maintains a consistent temp throughout the day--and we've had some extremely hot days since it's been installed. American Energy's installers were all very friendly and professional, and did a great jobs with prep and clean-up each day they were here (the initial install took two days). There were a couple minor issues after the install was complete which required two follow-up appointments. One was a equipment issue that required Carrier to provide a replacement part, but Carrier was responsive and quickly provided it. For the additional follow-up appointments, their scheduling person as professional, courteous, and accommodating. In fact, she went out of her way over a weekend to re-schedule an appointment that was supposed to happen on a Monday morning. To me the company has to be a good one to A.) get that kind of diligence out of employees, and B.) to keep those kind of employees. In the end, I'm extremely happy with the system and will gladly subscribe for their annual maintenance contract.

He recommended that we install two GFI protected circuit breakers on circuits that weren't grounded, and in doing so we uncovered a problem with the way one of the circuits was wired as turning on the kitchen lights caused the new GFI breaker to trip. He came back the very next day and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. Jeff is very knowledgeable and efficient in his work, and I'm glad I know have someone to turn to for troubleshooting electrical problems.

They replaced a driver-side CV axle, did oil changes, replaced brake pads and rotors, diagnosed and fixed an A/C and heater blower issue, repaired a trunk/liftgate problem, and also replaced a valve cover and gasket and battery. What stood out to me most was how knowledgeable, honest, and fair Samson and his team were throughout the process. The staff are friendly, the front desk is welcoming, and the customer service has been great. Bet if my car was a 69 Camaro, they'd do it. Why? Cause its a Classic Camaro. No matter the condition. Some shops don't want to work on Imports. But oh well. Their loss, not mine. I contacted 916 Auto and spoke to Samson to schedule an appointment and he said to come by that very same day. And so I drove from Roseville to Gold River that morning. Samson is honest & to the point. When he pulled my car in, he noticed a coolant leak. Now I didn't notice any leaks in my driveway, as it would seem the Coolant is evaporating or dissipating, but he notice it was getting on my Alternator, by the stains. It turns out, my OEM water pump (factory part since 2003 for this model year in 2004) finally gave out at 262K miles. Who'd ever think a Mazda/Ford part would last this long. This was an unexpected thought as I only had budgeted for the quote. So I called my CFO (Wife) and let her know of the issue. She said get it fixed and she'll adjust other expenses as she knows I need AC for the upcoming summer temps. So I authorized Samson to proceed with the entire job. Now I can't couldn't do any price comparison, but he did give me a discount which still fit in my overall budget. I spent my whole day in their lobby. They have updated their lobby to make it feel more comfortable and less Auto Shop feel. I notice the many people who drop by to have their car service are all happy and are returning customers. From a Dealership oil drain plug that was torqued too tight, to oil changes, brakes, and even a customer who was a bit upset where the Dealership sent the wrong part twice. The Dealership. I spoke to many of them and they all had the same answer when I ask. "What made you come here?" They replied, "Their price can't be beat!". In summary, my AC is now working as it should. Now I only used my AC for 2 whole days It gets cold and it has been awhile since I have felt cold in my aging car of 22 years. With my new water pump installed as well, my car is running smoother overall. Smoother shifts, heater gets warm fast. Almost, now almost like it was in 2004. So, Did I find a new shop for my Project Commuter Car? Yes I sure did. They have gotten a new customer. Up next is my Transmission Gasket & plug. One thing at a time! He inspected them and showed me how each one was clean, dry, and completely fine. He then inspected the rest of the engine compartment and the undercarriage and showed me that it was all in great shape. Finally, he noticed that a previous mechanic had removed the plastic shroud for my front wheel wells and failed to install new clips to secure the shroud afterward. I had wondered about the gap he noticed for years, but I didn't realize it was anything other than wear and tear. He replaced the clips for no extra charge. I know it seems like a small thing, but to me, it speaks clearly to Roland's character: I believe he genuinely cares about doing right by his customers and taking good care of their cars. When I asked him about some issues with electronic parts on my car (e.g. a digital dashboard display), he let me know that his area of focus was mechanical service and advised me to take my car to an electrical auto shop. I was grateful that he knew the limits of his expertise, communicated them clearly, and stuck to them. I felt his quoted price was quite reasonable, and even after he performed more work than requested (still within about a 1-hour time slot), he stuck to his original price quote. I am very happy with the service he provided and the price I paid! I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

Rolland came to my house and went straight to working on the fuse box without having made sure the…read morehigh voltage system of my Prius C was disconnected. Major red flag #1. He spent 40 minutes prying at different parts and trying to forcefully remove my fuse box to get to the 100A fusible link that I had to tell him was located beneath and the assembly had to be unbolted to get to it from underneath. After 40 minutes of painfully watching him attempt to force things open. I politely asked him to stop as it was obvious he didn't know what he was doing and broke a few components off my housing. I tried calling him to let him know of the damages. He denied responsibility and said he was only at my house for 5 minutes. He told me to never contact him again and failed to respond to the before and after photos I sent. Do not trust this shady business. What went from a lb easy replacement of a 100A that I could have done myself but did not have the time to do so, resulted in several hundred dollars of parts in addition to more for labor due to gross incompetence. DO NOT TRUST HIM!

I called Vince this morning with a TV speaker sound issue that developed suddenly with our set up…read more We were unable to hear sound out of the speakers that are connected to the a/v receiver. I explained my problem as best I could and Vince asked couple questions and then told me to press a certain setting for the receiver and sound was once again coming out of the speakers! Less than 15 minutes and he fixed the problem over the phone! We certainly know who to call for our entertainment system, security system, or lighting installations in the future. And he was very patient and explained things in terms I could understand. I could not ask for a better outcome.

Priority 1 Electric is a ten star company. They have a great team of professional courteous people working for them. The workmanship is top notch. Miguel and Mike were kind and courteous, very hard working guys who were professional in all ways. They do quality work and leave their job site spotless. They took great care to explain the work they were doing and what the options were. They replaced our main breaker panel and installed exhaust fans and a ceiling fan, kitchen light fixture and corrected outlet troubles that needed fixing. They are an honest company that has very fair pricing and they work with customers on payment plans. They get back to you quickly from the initial call through any project related questions as the work is being done. The office staff Rae Ann and Frank were also very kind and helpful and professional. They took care of all the permits. And coordinated with the electricians in the field. They all work together as a great team or like a family business. The hard work and dedication of Priority 1 Electric company employees in providing the best service is very much appreciated. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing electrical work of any kind. I will definitely refer all my friends and family to them. I wish I could give this company zero stars. The electrician took three hours to do a 20 minute job. He only did half the job I requested and told me to finish he would need another $650 and another 6-8 hours. I declined this and the owner (extremely condescending by the way) tried explaining to me why they needed to charge me more and how after all of his overhead that his company only makes $70 and hour. Why this pertains to the customer or my service request is beyond me. I ended up calling a new electrician to finish the job for $200 which was well worth every penny! I just regret paying for half a job with Priority 1 when they should have finished the job within that same rate without the bogus and unnecessary up-sale. I would never recommend them to anyone. read more

No way was I going to use Priority 1 Electric after looking at Yelp reviews. My husband told me that they were highly recommended by his employer. When I asked him to look at Yelp reviews, he said something is wrong. Together we called the BBB, CA State Licensed Board and looked them up through Home Advisor. I am glad we did because of the exception of Yelp, they had strong positive reviews. They responded to my request for an estimate to install recessed lighting. The estimate was within our budge, we hired them and the job was completed in a day. The electricians were friendly, respectful and conducted them in a professional manner. Had Casey and his partner come out for power going off and on in my kitchen and bedroom, they charge a very reasonable amount to preform any work and before they do any work they will inform you of your situation. And make it clear of what has to happend to be fixed. I had a huge problem at hand and dealing with a honest team really made me comfortable and now i can actually say my electrical problem turned out to be a fun and educational experience and for that i will forever use Priority 1 for my recommended electrician and be very proud to refer them to anyone! I have used Priority 1 Electric at least half a dozen times over the last five years, and the company is now the only one I call. From small projects like fixing a switch to more involved ones - installing new light fixtures, fans and smoke detectors throughout the house - I trust them to be completely professional. I know I'll get a realistic quote, reliable confirmation and updates of appointments, incredibly polite electricians, and a fantastic job followed by a total cleanup of the work area. I hired this company to install a new circuit for my new dryer. When I bought the stove the cord was not attached so I called this company. They came out the same day I called and charged me $47.50. They gave me a quote to attach a new cord to the dryer and a quote for a new outlet since the new dryer cord wouldn't work in the old outlet. They were prompt, very nice and priced reasonable. They also credited the $47.50 fee back toward the work. They are very upfront & honest with no hidden fees. I would highly recommend this company for any electrical work. Awesome service! When i first moved into my Laguna West home i had some electrical issues so i called Priority 1 Electric to assist. They were nice over the phone and in person, and even came out the same day. They were reasonably priced and worked fast. I'm not really sure what happened with other reviewers, but our experience was A++. I recently had them come out again to fix my outdoor electrical outlet so we could hang Christmas lights and once again my experience was AWESOME. My only experience with priority electric was about 2 weeks ago with service advisor Casey Kruse, great guy, great cust service. Very good at what he does, thank goodness he showed up because if he hadn't we would've really been in a world of problems, plus his honesty & experience helped my family & I. Let's just say my wife, my dog & 2 cats & I are grateful, he is the reason someone pushed to get our electricity working again. I was in management in solar a few years back, and Casey is GREAT with people. He's honest, respectful and just a great electrician. read more

They switched my flourescent lights in my kitchen to LED, charged me close to 200 dollars which at first seemed extremely high but after Casey explained to me the benefits of LED and that he had to remove the Ballast completely out of the fixture to use the LED lights i realised i was getting a fair price. I really thought that there was no such thing as good service, but after using priority electric my opinion as 100 percent changed about using a serivce tech. Priority 1 Electric came out the same day I called and didn't charge me an emergency fee. They found the problem right away. Price was fair. An appointment was promptly scheduled and unfortunately, the owner,Kevin, got sick midway through the day and could not make the original appointment. We rescheduled the appointment and I confirmed it at 12 in the afternoon the day of. At 1:30 I received a call saying he did not need to come by and could quote the job for $400 without stopping by. I knew the job was complex and that there was no way anyone could quote without seen. KEVIN called back and said he could rearrange jobs and get somebody there but it would be after the original appointment. I accepted the offer. The electrician that came out was very helpful and did what he could to troubleshoot the problem. It was not repaired, but I felt he gave it a good shot. I was able to repair it myself after their effort. I found faulty wiring in the j-box from a previous electrician. A1 had missed the incorrect wiring. I requested that they install a remote device on the system in a refused saying the heater was faulty. The wiring was no fault of A-1, it was a previous electrician. However, they kept saying that they repeated they would not do the work because the equipment was faulty and ultimately refused any further help. Very frustrating.

Glad I went with Hagan Electric to fix this. A previous electrician from Mister Sparky Electric claimed the outlet needed to be rewired and was not getting any electricity. The Mister Sparky Electric guy charged $400 to tell my HOA: "Resident has square D panel which complies with today's standards. No need to change panel." All he did was look at the panel that day. Maybe 15 minutes to say what kind of panel it was and charged $400. Anyways- beware of going to certain companies to have electrical work done. Hagan Electric seems like a good one. The job I had today was pretty simple.

The price was better than 2 other estimates I received and included all of the permitting/SMUD details that needed to be taken care of. The day of the service, there was great communication and everything with the job went smoothly. Israel and David let me know when addition things were going to be needed and explained the reasons why changes needed to be made. The job site was left extremely clean and the work area looks better than when they arrived. I would absolutely recommend them for your electrical needs. An added bonus is they are a Veteran owned company.
