Hired this company to do safety inspection, outlet installation (indoor and outdoor) as well as cleaning up an electrical mistake I'd made. Technician is early or on time each visit. The prices and quote times were made VERY clear ahead of the work so that I knew what I was getting and for how much. Two examples of Phase One going extra / above and beyond are their willingness to take feedback and send someone out, one day after the job was done to fix one small cosmetic thing I'd found after work was complete. Most other contractors once they're paid are really hard to get a hold of, but not Chris at Phase One. Super responsive. They have experience working with the City Offices here and their comfort with the inspectors who show up is because they stand by their work. All in all this is a good business that I hope to see stick around for a long time. You can add me to the list of people who think this company should be your first call in this area. read more

Chris did good work and we enjoyed having him here during the day he worked on our place. However, his communication on the business end wasn't the best. We wanted him to add 4 solar panels and do a couple of small interior projects. He didn't know that the City of Davis requires all PV projects to be permitted and that it requires any unpermitted project to be brought up to then-current code upon sale of the house, plus that it requires PG&E to be notified for PV permits (which would then cancel our NEM 1 status). So we had to drop the PV, but also added a bathroom fan. Instead of doing a change order, Chris considered that we'd cancelled the project (entitling him to keep our deposit), even though as a former contractor he probably should have known about City of Davis permitting and informed us about that at the start. In the end he kept half our deposit, but the communication wasn't great. He could have kept us more informed throughout, and told us if he didn't have experience with PV in Davis and would have to do a day-and-a-half of research at the City of Davis (as he says) for the project. Make sure you have everything very clear about your project in advance. read more

Couldn't be happier with the work that Phase One did at my house. I needed an outlet installed for my stove where there previously wasn't one. (Long story short, I recently discovered that my stove was connected in a very unsafe way by someone that lived in my house previously). Chris and Justin were great! They had the work done in no time and the price was very reasonable. What I also appreciated is that they very conscientious about their work and wanted to make sure everything was just right. Called Phase One to see if they would install a Tesla charging plug at our new home. Received a callback immediately and he was able to setup a same day appointment. I had concerns with my solar setup and didn't want any issues. Phase One is apparently one of a few certified Sun Power installers and maintenance electricians in CA which gave me the reassurance that there would be no issues. He was able to get a breaker setup for the charger and add an extra breaker for future outlets. I'll be using him for future projects based on his clean work, clear explanations and true understanding of what options are available. The price was also affordable and there was no pressure sales or shady business. Nice to know there are still good people out there in the trades. read more

I was more than pleased with Chris (Phase One Electric). I live in Williams and was wanting to get the wiring, switch and junction box/fan bracket installed in the master bedroom for a ceiling fan. I wasn't able to get the local electrical contractors to even return a phone call. My wife and I found Chris through a google search. We scheduled for the job and Chris and his coworker showed up early and had the job completed in approximately an hour and a half to include installing the ceiling fan. I was also very happy with the cost. Going forward, I will always call Chris for any additional electrical work in the future and will also refer him in the area to anyone asking for an electrical contractor. Chris and Phase One Electric deserve this 5 Star review! Chris was amazing. We had 4 GFCI outlets that needed to be installed in 4 different bathrooms, each with their own challenges. He worked quickly, neatly and efficiently, doing a beautiful job pulling wire from other locations with a minimum of disruption to the drywall. He then installed 6 outdoor light timer switches that I had just received and ran out to the store to pick up a switch plate that matched the switch, saving me a trip into town. With COVID, I greatly appreciated his thoughtfulness. We look forward to having Chris install a generator in the coming months as PG&E continues with it's threats of rolling blackouts. I first met Chris several years back when he was part of a team that installed my solar array. He was so wonderful then that I kept his contact information. A year plus ago I had occasion to call him again to install a Tesla charger in our home and needless to say he did a perfect job for us. Fast forward to now...we have added so many things to our home that we had a small fire in our electrical panel! When the AC guy came out to do a repair he was the one to tell us of this CRITICAL problem. I again called Chris of Phase One Electric and he came out right away. He is in the process of fixing everything, including installing a new larger electrical panel, and is coordinating with the city and electric company to make sure it is done well and to code. This is a long process and Chris is making sure we understand the procedure as to what will be happening along the way (ie the city and PG&E requirements). I have complete faith in his abilities as a licensed electrician, and am so grateful that he will complete the repair as soon as possible for us, and also that he kept my home from burning down! read more
