I was so happy to have Jackie driving us down to Wai Kai and knowing at the same time there was their usual even every Thursday night which is the Ono Grindz and Makeke at Wai Kai 4p-8p as it's filled with various small biz gathering on the lawn as the sun sets browsing around was just fun and when I finally decided on Hometown BBQ it's because I knew exactly what I wanted. Creating a menu is very difficult and with this market circumstances it can be difficult since there's not a lot of tables and many menus are handwritten with price so I don't have samples of size or plating as I was afraid if I would be able to carry it around without making a mess. Thankfully though here I wanted the Esquites which is basically corn, beans, beef, sour cream and bbq sauce. I asked if it came in a bowl but it was a container so very transportable but very hot as well and large omg which still made it a challenge to carry around. The service here is fast and friendly and as I took a few bites from it it was delicious a tad bit salty for my personal taste but really enjoyed all the layers of flavors it had and didn't expect it to be that enormous. Great to support our small local biz while getting something unique is fun and being in our hometown is the best. Thank you!

In the area and decided to try Gina's out for the first time. Similar to many Korean bbq…read morerestaurants, they have many options from bbq chicken, meatjun, and katsu to name a few popular dishes. They also do cater with multiple pan sizes. It was about 4 pm and the afterwork/before dinner rush was in full effect! Orders after orders. We decided to go with their fried chicken plate; Gina's special and a spicy bbq chicken. Haven't had a spicy bbq chicken so i was excited to give it a try. As we waited, we watched many others behind us get their choice of sides and orders out and was wondering if they missed our order. Unfortunately, our order was not printed. The tall gentlemen helping out in the back immediately apologized and put our order first in line and within a few minutes, we got our order. He then apologized again and loaded our plates. The mini looked like a large and the regular plate looked XL. They have a lot of side dishes to choose from. Our favorites are the choy sum, bean spouts and cuttlefish. Now for the food, it was AMAZING. The spicy bbq chicken is a must try! Not to spicy but has enough of a kick. You can't even go wrong with their regular bbq chicken. The Gina's special is completely loaded with chicken, beef and kalbi. I also enjoyed their fried chicken and may have to get that as a side as we had way too much rice and vegetables that we had to save some for later. Overall, the food is great! Customer service is excellence and even with the little mishap, I know the food and service makes up for it.

The brisket melt is warm, flavorful, and always satisfying. I also always get the slushie to drink, which pairs perfectly with the meal. The staff is friendly, the parking is easy, and the prices are decent for what you get. I also recommend getting the soup as a side -- it rounds out the meal really well. Overall, a solid spot with good food, great service, and simple convenience.

The chicken was crisp, juicy, and the gochujang sauce was DELICIOUS! My husband got the double down and said that it was incredible. The pastrami to brisket ratio was perfect and they added just the right amount of bbq sauce to enhance the meat flavors but not over power. My daughter also loved her grilled cheese. It was definitely more cheese than bread and she even tried tomato soup for the first time- also loved it. We also took a gamble and tried the toast of the month. I will admit I'm not a big "fake strawberry" flavor girl so I was worried I wouldn't like it but it was delicious. It's also the perfect size for sharing! The cook here really knows how to combine flavors and make perfect ratios for sure. We ate in- place was spotless, smelled nice, and was very fun and "Instagram" like if you're into that sort of stuff. We genuinely can't wait to go back and try more.
