Being a new beginner female golfer in a male-dominated sport can be intimidating, but my experience learning golf has been incredibly positive. I started golfing at the end of summer 2025 and took lessons with Charles Lee. As someone who didn't grow up playing sports, he made golf approachable and genuinely fun. During lessons, he clearly points out what I'm doing incorrectly and explains it using video comparisons from TrackMan recordings, which helped me understand my swing much better. I used to overthink every swing, but now I'm more confident and focused. Between each lesson, he gives 1-2 specific things to work on, which really helps with steady improvement--as long as you put in the practice between lessons. When I first started in October 2025, my driver distance was about 129 yards total. As of January 2026, I'm hitting around 160 yards. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm a lifelong golfer now, and I truly have Charles to thank for opening my eyes to this sport! I have more progress videos on instagram if you want to check them out at WinniePlaysGolf. I strongly recommend taking lessons from Charles, thank me later! :))

Perfect for date night! Decided to surprise my boyfriend with a date at 5i for an hour of golf simulator! I reserved online easily a week in advance and called over phone with questions. Upon arrival to your reservation you can call the front desk and they will open the locked parking garage gate for you to enter to the designated free 5i parking spaces. We arrived 20 minutes early and the employee explained quickly how things worked and even kindly let us start playing 15 minutes before our reservation began for free. You can order food and drink on a tablet. We ended up ordering with an employee as a few items were missing on the tablet menu for some reason..We ordered boneless wings(bbq+buffalo), chips and guac and two cocktails. Just standard appetizers. My chili mango margarita did please me it was super tasty! They give you a warning 5 minutes before your reservation ends if you forget to keep track of time which is appreciated. We had such a fun date and our favorite part was the golf games in particular the car junkyard challenge! We enjoyed how there was a playback option to watch yourself back to critique your stance or just for fun video! So many cute fairy type lights with funny sayings like "Find your balls" to take cute pics in front of. Would recommend if looking for a fun bonding group activity or for a cute intimate date night! Thanks 5i!

Cool golf shop with a funny neon sign that proclaims "Talk Birdie To Me" outside and offers a wide assortment of golf equipment. Great service. Don't think they serve food/drink but maybe they do on some occasions. Check it out!

Cool spot for a hang :) Comfy couches and plenty of spots to sit and drink / eat intermittently while golfing. Trackmaster setups. Club bangers always playing in the back. You can order drinks ($10-15) and food (standard quality (from frozen) bar bites and flatbreads) that get brought to your bay. It is on the pricey side ($90 for an hour) but not too bad if you come with a group! Plus, trackmaster setups are expensive. The trackmasters don't really register putting :') Friendly staff. They do private lessons too!

Nice appetizers, bar has an excellent assortment of drinks, beers and is centrally located - love it! David was taking care of the group this visit and I really loved the vibe here! Come on by for a visit next time you are downtown!

A fun place to hang out indoors! This spot isn't mini golf, but rather a golf simulator. You come with a group and rent out a bay, which you can then chill at and order food/drinks too. They have a variety of different golf clubs for you to choose from, as well as a few types of games that you can play. All of it together makes for such a fun atmosphere!

Staff was exceptionally friendly. Venue was sparkling and new with loads of space and golf simulator screens. We are not golfers but once we switched to a game the evening was very fun. The cauliflower bites are delicious, but skip the hot honey peperoni pizza, it translated into a very sweet pepperoni pizza, not something I needed to experience in life.

We've been into mini golf and virtual golf lately, it's nice to find indoor active activities that can be done on a cold wintery day. We've made it here a few times since they opened, it's nice to have another place to stop off when you are already on Capitol Hill. We've walked in twice and booked a bay without a reservation, but you could always just come by for food or a drink if that is your thing. I like the decor and the intimate feel of the various bays, the couches make the experience more enjoyable. We don't play actual golf but enjoy playing some of the for fun games for half an hour or so. It feels like a teeny bit of exercise and you can enjoy a drink while you do it. It's nice to be using real clubs and real golf balls, my Dad is an avid golfer and he would be proud that I sometimes pretend that I know what the different clubs do. They are even nice enough to provide men and women's clubs and have them available for left handers too. It seems like real golfers hang out here too, but don't be intimated if you are just there for a fun way to pass the time. There is a full bar here, drinks are pricey, but make the experience more fun. On our last visit it was nice to be able to order yourself from the tablet, rather than having to wait for someone to come by. I have found that some of the drinks were not the same on different visits, not sure why that is, but I have since changed my drink order. My main complaint is that it is hard to know when your time limit is approaching, I wish there was some kind of timer. I come with a set amount of time in mind and don't want to have to pay extra if I go over. I think next time I will set my own timer.

Book with Greg Enbusk for fittings or lesions!!! I scheduled a 3hr Full Bag fitting with Greg Enbusk and it was absolutely incredible. Not only was Greg extremely knowledgeable and helpful, he was just a great guy to be around. He started off the fitting ensuring I knew there's no judgements or need for me to feel self conscious about skill level or my swing and that we're here for one simple purpose and that's to improve my game. There was also no sales pitch or eventual attempt to set me up with gear that fit a bottom line more than it fit me. He led with "I don't work on commission so let's just find you the right clubs for you." Now apart from how personable he was, the session was even more insightful and helpful to my golf game. I learned things about my swing and habits that I never realized were the contributing factors to how I hit the ball. Specifically understanding where my club face is making contact with the ball and how I and upgraded clubs can help that situation. I walked away with recommendations for each club type in my bag and ended up upgrading my irons the following week based on his recommendation. I've played 2 rounds with my new irons and have dropped about 10 points of my game. Without a doubt I'm just hitting straighter and father as well. Also, my wife had done a mini-fitting with him the day before. She had never golfed before and was very unsure of what she should expect but was immediately met with the same warm and comforting approach I received. She's also got a starter set on the way courtesy of Greg's recommendations and has high enthusiasm for getting started with golf. I obviously had a rough idea of the positive experience I could expect with Greg based on my wife's but those expectations were exceeded for sure. Do yourself a favor and if you're in need of a club/bag fitting or a lesson, book time with Greg Enbusk! He's the absolute man!!!

Phenomenal place. Take advantage of $1 sims late night until July 5th (10pm to close for $1 on Fridays and Saturdays). Oh and they close at midnight, at least while late nights are a deal so not the 11pm time listed everywhere. Came for a Yelp event before, enjoyed my time, and returned. Golf experience really caters to everyone. Looking for a more fun activity? There's gamified golfing resembling Wii sports almost. From collecting monsters together to capture the flag or king of the hill, you can somewhat play as a team or against each other. Want to hit like you're at the range? There's that too, as expected. Track your shots and check form? All the analysis is here and you can record yourself easily at your booth. There's a little something for everyone whether they're new to golf or more advanced. Morgan is awesome! Friendly, attentive, all you could want. Amazing bar with all types of drinks. Great selection of seltzers, beer, wine, and cocktails. The watermelon juice was delicious, although it's basically all sugar it's like Gatorade on steroids. Thanks for introducing me to melawater. Started out with a Transfusion, John Daly, and Swing Oil. Snagged a Watermelon High Noon and Watermelon Water as well. Had the opportunity to grub on their pizza and sliders as well. Great pairing with drinks and golf as you relax on a sofa. Transfusion - a bit stronger than the John Daly, it's a similar drink as it's vodka with other liquids. Basic at it's roots. Good starter drink to sip and golf. John Daly - lightest drink which didn't have much alcohol in it's taste. Very basic as there's some vodka with other liquids. A nice drink to sip or start with before moving on. Swing Oil - a pretty loaded drink. Super strong, dark rum definitely kicks it up. Margherita Pizza - a nice small bite, but nothing exceptional. Comparable to frozen pizza for me, but I'm not coming here for the food so I wouldn't put a high emphasis here. Chicken Sandwich (Sliders) - MVP for sure. Tender, juicy chicken really hit the spot while being fairly light. I'd order this if hungry or wanting a snack.

Monday is a busy day as it is ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR and there are real happy hour savings here. How about a cheeseburger with a generous side of fries for $8.95????? The fries were great, hot and crispy, with sides of ketchup and spicy ranch. The burger was real and honest, two of my highest compliments for a cheeseburger. Made to order exactly right. Bun was toasted and smeared with aioli and had a nice crisp. Solid toppings of lettuce, two slices of tomatoes, red onion, and several pickle chips. These were presented on the side so I could dress the burger as I liked. The whole thing was delicious. I had a well gin and tonic at the HH price of $8.95. Overall, a very good meal and a great deal. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, the busy bartender acknowledged me as soon as I sat down, and I was immediately drawn into conversation by the regulars on either side of me. As I often eat out solo, I'm used to striking up conversations with strangers, but I didn't have to make much effort here. Fun company! Solo eaters are welcome. I'll be back and I definitely recommend!

We were promptly greeted, grabbed a booth with its own TV, and got the first round of drinks going. While service lagged a bit through the stay I have a hard time complaining too much. To be honest we were a bit slower drinkers compared to some of the patrons, so I can see why were left a bit to our own. The food was outstanding. My wife crushed the quesabirria tacos (such bright and floral tasting shredded beef) and I had an incredibly tasty and overly filling Cod fish and chips. The only complaint I can really lob is towards the restroom space. Forgive me a minutes for getting on a soapbox here - but what is it about sprots bars and restrooms? I get that guys (and gals) can be pigs. I also get that this is a low priotity / non revenue generating space. But could you please spend just a little time / money on bleach, paint, and some decent fixtures? I know people are AWFUL and are always destroying things, no matter how well built and durable it is. But I just hate it when bars and resturants fail to update restrooms. Buckely was no exception. The excellent food quality sticker on the doors, the service and drink choice (and the outstanding meal on my table) speak to your ability to put together great quality and safety processes in the kitchen. It would be great if you could spend a bit of that same effort in bring up the standard in restroom. OK rant off! Great place and we will be back regardless.

These are the best cheese curds ever bc the batter isn't heavy like other cheese curds I've had. It's tempura battered so it's light and you can taste the cheese more. The jalapeño strawberry dip and ranch are good dips, but try them together and it will blow your mind. The fried green beans were okay. They did have a heavier batter on them and I wish they had the same batter the cheese curds had. The spicy dip was good! The rosemary popcorn was delicious! It had just enough butter and the perfect amount of rosemary where it's not overpowering. Once you get to the bottom, there's tons of butter and you just dip and soak it up with the popcorn. Parking was free and plenty of it on the streets. I visited on Super Bowl Sunday, about 2-3hrs before the game to get seats. This was a good idea because there was only a handful of seats available. We were lucky enough to get a table for 4 of us. The hosts were very welcoming and go us seated at the bar when it was only two of us. When we informed them about an hour prior to kick off that we needed two more seats, they did their best to get us seated. It was very kind of them to even look around, let alone actually find us space. This was very much appreciated. The first hour or so, when there was only two of us, we had a few beers, the cheese curds and the chicken fried steak with potatoes. The beers were exactly what you think they would taste like and they weren't terribly expensive which was nice. The cheese curds were a great shareable item, good flavor and a fair amount of them. The chicken fried steak was good, nothing crazy, but not below average. Portion was good sand it was cooked right to have that nice crips on the outside with the gravy poured over top. I think the only thing I wasn't that big of a fan of was the potatoes, I should've opted for the tots or hash potatoes instead, but I'll have to try it again. Yes, I would recommend this place. Seems like a good place to meet with friends for a game and meet friends. I almost forgot to mention they have an outside area in the back was is covered so there's more than enough space to maneuver and enjoy your time.

I made a reservation ahead of time, but when we got there around 8 pm we realized we probably didn't need one because it was seat yourself and still pretty open. No complaints though, it made it easy to grab a table and settle in. The vibe was cool. Definitely a sports bar feel with TVs around, and as the night went on the DJ started getting set up which I can imagine makes it a fun spot on a Friday night for people meeting up after work or hanging out with friends. We decided to share a few things so we could try a little bit of everything. We ordered the catfish bites, lemon pepper wings, garlic parmesan wings, and macaroni and cheese. I'll start with the positives because the service was great. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful, which always makes a difference. Food-wise, it just didn't totally hit for me. The catfish bites had a really tasty batter, but the texture threw me off a little. I personally like my catfish cooked a little harder, and these were a bit soft for my liking. The lemon pepper wings were a little too salty for me, and the wings themselves weren't cooked quite the way I like them. I tend to like my wings cooked a little harder, so these felt a bit soft and bulky to me (if that makes sense). The garlic parmesan wings were okay flavor-wise, but still similar in texture. The macaroni and cheese was okay. Nothing bad, just pretty standard. The menu itself has a good mix of comfort food and bar favorites like chicken and waffles, shrimp & grits, burger & fries....so there are definitely options to try. Overall, the service were great, the vibe was cool and I can definitely see this being a fun spot once the DJ gets going and the place fills up. The food just didn't quite land for me personally this time. I gave it 3 stars, but if Yelp allowed half stars it would probably be closer to a 3.5 for me. I'd still be open to coming back and trying a few other things on the menu.
