I meant to post this the day my mom and I went! The staff were very nice and the service was excellent And that was the BEST hamburger I've ever had in my entire life!!! Definitely will coming back!! read more

I don't usually go for chain food, but this place gets a pass. And my Thursday lunch. Their burgers are great (the buns are the only downfall), their french fries are delicious. They're way overpriced, frankly (2 burgers, one large fry and one large drink cost ya $22), but the food is delicious. The thing that makes me bump them from a 3 to a 4 is this particular store's staff. I swear they put valium in the employee water. They are so happy, so polite, and ALWAYS make sure you get everything you need. The place is clean, if you come in regularly they remember your name. 4 stars for the food, 2 stars for the price, 5 stars for the staff. The only chain store in the city I frequent with joy. read more

I went in right at noon, and it wasn't very crowded. This pleased me, since I was expecting them to have a drive-thru. The young lady at the counter was very knowledgable and made great recommendations. I was confused as to why there are no combo meals, only a la carte. I ordered a regular cheeseburger (2 patties, so pretty large), regular fries, and drink....came out to be over 12 bucks!!! My food was ready quickly, so no time for free peanuts. The burger was delicious, although only a dumbass would pay $6 plus tax for one on a regular basis. The fries were hand-cut, but were so-so...once again, over priced. It was a good meal, don't get me wrong, but $12 is outrageous for fast food anywhere, especially in MO. I've had In-N-Out in Vegas and LA, and for just over half the price I can get a better burger ordered from the comfort of my car. Or I could pay the same $12 at a full-service restaurant with a much nicer atmosphere. If they started having combo meals, a drive thru, and competitive prices, this place would be 5-star for me. read more

Too loud ( crappy, trite classic rock ). Too expensive. Too long a wait ( when there was not much of a crowd even during noon hour ). No outside waste receptacle. Shoulda gone to Fuddruckers. read more

THE CAJUN FRIES ROCK! The "small" size is enough to fill a person up for a couple of hours. The burgers are good, they are fresh and the toppings are quality. Crispy hot bacon? Check. Crispy lettuce? Check. The only knock is that the price is a little steep for the burgers, but you won't feel cheated. GO FOR IT! read more

Always delicious! However, it's usually a bit out of our price range. When we want greasy burgers, we're much more likely to go to a cheap fast food place. read more

There isn't much that comes out of Washington that Republicans and Democrats can agree on. Luckily both sides of the aisle can agree that Five Guys Burgers are the best in D.C. FINALLY St Louis, Five Guys has arrived. I had heard rumors that there was one coming to CWE, and while that may still happen, there is now a Five Guys in Kirkwood. Is the drive to K Town worth it??? Hell Yes. I grew up in DC so I practically grew up on Five Guys. The burgers, the peanuts, the fries oh my! I now no longer have to wait for my annual trek home for Christmas to taste burger bliss. The set up at five guys is easy. You walk in and order from the counter. Please note a regular cheeseburger is two 1/4lbs patties, while a junior cheeseburger is one patty. I usually get either a regular bacon cheeseburger or a junior bacon cheeseburger. The bacon that is served is not your ordinary limp fast food bacon and is worth the extra money. Then you pick out your free toppings. You can choose from Mayo, Relish, Raw Onions, Lettuce, Pickles, Tomatoes, Grilled Onions, Grilled Mushrooms, Ketchup, Mustard, Jalapeno Peppers, Green Peppers, A-1 Sauce, Bar-B-Q Sauce and Hot Sauce. You can put on as many toppings as you want for free. Then you order your fries. Just be sure to understand that they are going to put a handful of fries in your bag when you order (what's better than bag fries...extra bag fries). The fries are all cut from Idaho potatoes. They even list what town the potatoes from that day come from on a whiteboard. While you wait for your burger they have peanuts you can snack on. Now I am not sure if it is only in St Louis, or if it is a new policy because they are afraid of kids with food allergies, but the peanuts were not prominently displayed at the Kirkwood location. Food takes about 5 minutes to prepare and they will call out your number. They also sell hot dogs, but to be honest I have never tried one, the burgers are too good to experiment. Five guys is about a $1 or $2 more expensive than normal fast food but it is totally worth it and it is definitely worth the 20 extra minutes I will be driving. Five Guys is simply Fabulous! read more

Am I missing something? Are the burger joints around DC and Northern Virginia so ungodly awful that this chain makes the f&%#$ Zagat Guide for something like seven years in a row? I mean, the burgers are okay. I'm definitely not a fan of well-done, which is the only way your burger gets prepared (Boo. This is Americuh, dammit. I should git a choice!) I like the free toppings, but that's not really a special concept. And the fries are like the fries at Penn Station or the Philly steak place at the mall. Good, but again, not special. From the various signs with glowing reviews assaulting you from the moment you walk in, I just expected more. I guess I should have saved that eighth of a tank of gas and walked over to Crusoe's Original. Sigh. read more

Please instruct your cashiers how to ring up a "grilled cheese, add 2 patties", AKA "inside out burger" or "frisco melt". I got the response, "we cant do that" from one of your employees. We walked out. All other locations in the area have been accomdating to my special request. Thanks! read more

I loooove five guys and this location was really good! We all got our burgers exactly as ordered and they were still hot when we got home to eat. We ordered a large fry for the 3 of us. I like the Cajun but we weren't sure if it would be too spicy for the kid. Did you know you could get the Cajun spice on the side?! Best idea ever! read more

we finally got to try 5 guys burgers. they are very good. and we ordered a large fry not knowing that they would dump more fries in the bag. my mom must have been on crack because she said he burger was dry. they cook it when you order so i have no clue what she was smoking. will definitely be back. read more

Yes it is a chain, but it is very good. The burgers are big, greasy and delicious. The fries have a well done taste, but it works very well....I haven't tried the cajun style, but will next time I go. read more

Great burger joint with laid-back atmosphere. Burgers made to order and they have serve yourself peanuts while you wait. Exceptional fries and service. I've decided the only thing that could make 5 Guys better is a cheese fries option, maybe even with bacon. I'll be going back for sure. read more

I got jalapenos and hot sauce on my Little Cheeseburger and it was awesome! Its hard to make food too spicy for me, and this was perfect! Also the fries were really great. I couldn't finish them because the "regular" size is huge... but they were yummy. read more

PEANUT ALLERGY ALERT: they give away free peanuts for anyone who wishes to eat them. They have a bin at the main entrance where you can help yourself. Although they are known for their burgers and fries, they have hot dogs and other sandwiches like a fancy grilled cheese sandwich with more than just one type of cheese. I love grilled cheese sandwiches so I think that's what I'm gunna get next time. I met a friend from my grade school with whom I have kept in touch for lunch at this restaurant. I had told him about it and he had been there once before. Last time that I was there, I got a double cheese burger. So after telling him about it, he decided to get a double cheese burger for himself. I got a bacon cheeseburger. The burgers were just as good as the last time I was there, and I really liked my bacon cheeseburger. The food really is good. The French fries cannot be kept as left overs, though, because they become soggy after awhile and loose that nice freshness of just being cooked. They are good; you just have to eat them while you are eating your burger. So after being there twice, and really liking their burgers that I ate there, I have decided that this will be my go to place when I want a hamburger. I think that they are better than a lot of other places. I really do. read more

Overpriced. You know that quote "you get what you pay for?" Well, at Five guys, IT'S NOT! The onions were barely cooked, fries were bad, and it was like $16 for 2 burgers, fries, and FREE WATERS! Big rip off! Will most likely never return unless we have to! read more

OK. Now that this place is established and the hype has subsided, let's look at the facts. Fact 1: This restaurant's thermostat was set to 50 degrees. Seriously. It was ice-freaking-cold in here. I had to eat outside even though it was 65 degrees and raining, or risk hypothermia. My glasses fogged up when I walked outside. What kind of establishment does this? Fact 2: The music was BLARING. Like, had to yell at other people at my table. A group of elderly folks finally talked to the manager and asked him to lower the music. It went down just enough that my ears were no longer bleeding. Fact 3: It cost $40 for 3 burgers/fries/drinks. Nothing special about them. Just low-grade beef on a bun and some cut potatoes. $13 each person. I could have gone to Steak N Shake and gotten the same thing for half the price. Next time I will. These "5 guys" need to lower the hype and self-congratulatory atmosphere and concentrate on guest comfort and value. Or they will go the way of Krispy Kreme (remember them)? read more

The service was less than desirable. The fact the staff was dividing up their tips on the counter where food was being prepared while people were in line ordering, then half of them did not switch out their prep gloves nor did anyone wipe down the counter where the money was laying was disgusting. Then someone needs to tell the fry guy to pull up his pants because his rear end and underwear hanging out gangster style is not a desirable eating environment. Lastly the fries were so over salted they were not edible. Not a good value for money and service is better at McDonald's, I won't be going back. read more

I'm not going to lie, every once in awhile, probably a little too often actually, I get a MAJOR craving for a good burger. The hubs was having the same craving the other day and we decided to give Five Guys a try for the first time. I ordered the little burger all the way and it was delicious! The burger was juicy and just the right size. The bun was fresh and how can you go wrong with all toppings free? You can't. We split a large Cajun fry (should've gone with the regular size because the large was enough for a family of 4) and they were fried and seasoned to perfection. I thought the price seemed a little high for burgers and it was a little hard to find a seat because the place was packed, but we will be back to cure our burger cravings for sure. read more

I'll be perfectly honest when i say i don't review chains much, but after having one their burgers i just had to. All i can say is.. DELICIOUS! Not really a big burger fan persay, but i enjoyed eating here. Sure it's simple, they give you your food in a bag but the fries were (i had the cajun, but others in my party had the regular) HOT and crispy and very spicy, which i liked!. The burger was good, and i loved that they give you some of the items that would normally at other places be extra for free. Oh, and the bacon on the burger was very good! I'll be back, oh yes, i will! read more

I like their fries, but their burger is only ok to me. I got the cheeseburger (with the two patties) and there was too much meat and not enough cheese. The bun was falling apart on me, and the meat was over cooked. Of course, they only cook it well done there, which I don't like. I would rather have Fuddruckers. If I end up going back here, I will try their hot dog, or get their little cheeseburger with the one patty. read more

Excellent heart attack burgers and fries. Staff was even better than most other locations. Love the bacon cheeseburger with mayo and jalapeños.T read more

Really good burgers but get soggy extra quick! Their fries are good too and the customer service is good

Grilled mushrooms? Not so. Soggy flavorless mushrooms from a jar or can ruined rather than enhanced the burger and made the bun so soggy it fell apart. The burger itself seems adequate but nothing to rave about at $5 for the "little burger". Fries are tasty with the skin on - hot and fresh. Little burger, little fries, small tea -$10 was too much for this meal that lacked anything to get excited about. Love the rock and roll playing overhead but the volume is so loud it makes conversing impossible without yelling. Staff seemed friendly and efficient. read more

The burgers were awful. I ordered a "little bacon cheeseburger" with lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo, and A1. I never got the lettuce or the A1 and they gave me the large burger instead. With just one slice of bacon. Fries were soggy and wayyyyyyy too salty and I'm the kind of person who puts salt on everything. Also a little overpriced. Not much to choose from, which isn't a bad thing. It made ordering easy. Overall I think it was overrated read more

OK so I got turned onto Five Guys when traveling up east. I was so excited that we have a bunch here in STL now. SO, like my friends out East I called in my order ahead of time and stopped in. I guess not lot of people do that here yet, because I think I made the staffs day. I was trying to be inconspicuous in my lounge gear, but alas, they all shouted out my name for the whole restaurant. It was charming and embarrassing, but more charming. Every time its great, although I have moved to the 'little cheeseburger' to save moving up a size in jeans. I also LOVE the cajun seasoning on my fries, although i wish they put just a little less on it. Still, the best burger and fries I have had since a little kid at Frudruckers! read more

It was very crowded at lunch during the week. The weather was great so I didn't mind waiting outside. The burger was great, but the fries were very salty. Try 5 Guys if you haven't already. read more

It's a darn good burger, and the fries are amazing. I love the fact that I can pretty much have whatever I want on my burger too. The customer service is always great here, and it's very simple to order. If what you want is a good burger, made with fresh meat, (which is hard to find) this is your place. read more

Burgers are much smaller than they use to be, way overpriced. You can get a better burger at Hardie's + Burger King for a lot less $. If you feel better about paying $7-$8, go to Fuddruckers. I realize now, that's why FG only had 4 other customers @ 6:30pm. Our family will never go to FG&F. They don't deserve one star! read more

My family loves this place. Me I think it is ok. It isn't that it is bad, it just isn't great. The burgers are of good quality and have lots of available toppings most of which are included in the price. The fries are good both regular and Cajun. I think the problem I have is it is a bit expensive for basically a fast food restaurant with peanuts. Family of four to eat in you are looking at about $40.. I'm sure I will be back but only because my family likes it so much. They love it so maybe I am just being cheap and crotchety. read more

Love this Burger Joint! The fires are delicious (try the cajun style) and burgers are always good!

Excellent burgers and fries. A bit on the pricy side but was well worth it. Dont get the large fries if you are alone they can feed A family of 6. Staff was fr i endly and the kitchen wide open so you can view everything. Higjly recommend. read more

Really good burgers for a good price. The fries and burger were hot and fresh. Highly recommend!

Really disappointed in the food. I went to Five Guys for the first time yesterday with several friends. I had heard the place was supposed to be great. The food was pretty gross, and I couldn't even eat half the burger. I unwrapped the burger, and there was seriously a HUGE puddle of grease in the foil. I thought it was water from the lettuce until I tried eating the burger and grease was pouring from it. Plus the way they put your food jammed into a brown grease stained paper bag, and you have to dig through the greasy soggy fries. It was very disappointing. The service was great, however and they were really nice. But being nice doesn't always make up for a poor product. Plus it was around $20 for my wife and I to eat. Lousy pricing for poor food, and we pretty much chalked it up as a loss because the food was so gross. The actual resturant was pretty low rent as well. You would sink for a full "self service" burger joint, they could atleast put some nicer tables/chairs in the place and not cram so many into a small store. If I ever eat there again it will be when I've forgotten how much of a let down the experience was. read more

I love this place, yes the price is high but what do you expect out of a burger place that makes all its meals to order. 5 Guys in Sunset Hills always have an excellent staff working as well as management. Can't get that out of a drive-thru at anywhere else that serves burgers. Fresh food, prepared fresh is the best way to go with burgers. read more

First time there. Two adults, two kids 8, 10. 3 junior burgers and a regular burger, we shared a large fry and a large drink. $34.00. Wow! Burgers are fair and only if you like fried versus broiled. Fries were fair as well but rather limp and a bit greasy. For the price, was expecting much better. No need to return. read more

When I want a burger this is the place to go, a little pricey but it's worth it. And always order the small fries, it turns out to be a large order that would be served from most other restaurants. read more

The food is great, the service is horrible. I ordered online, checked in at the counted at the estimated per the order. The yelled out my name at the counter. I sat and I waited 20 plus minutes, until people who came into the restaurant after me received their orders. Figuring my order had been misplaced, I went to counter to ask about my order. I explained that I ordered online and had already been waiting in the store 20+ minutes after the estimated pickup time. The clerk who was on his cellphone only responded with "oh you haven't got your order yet". Then the kitchen and the clerk went back and fourth about not hearing the order. No apology, no we'll get it right to you. I got my order a few minutes later, which appeared to have been ready for quite some time, based upon the lack of heat on the bag. What is the point of ordering online and checking in at clerk, if they don't even pay attention. That's the last time I go to Five Guys. Great food, horrible service. read more

Now that was one delicious burger! It really hit the spot and it was made just to my liking. I didnt care so much for the fries and never figured out the connection between burgers and free peanuts but thats neither here nor there. Bottom line is the burgers are really good but the prices are a tad bit too high for me. read more

The burgers are terrific, but they can't figure out french fries. We ask them to do the fries well done to no avail. We've even caught some heat for asking for well done fries - the person taking the order says something like, "They're all well done." If lukewarm and limp fits your description of well done, then you'll love Five Guys' well done fries, they're mushy and you definitely won't burn your mouth on them. As I said, the burgers are really good, but if you have the word, "Fries," in your name, get to frying. Otherwise, change the name to "Five Guys Burgers and Warm, Mushy Potatoes." read more
