Because of how simple this fast casual meal is, I don't find it worth the heavy price tag. As of August 2023, you can order a cheeseburger and bag of fries for ($11.21 + $6.11) $17.32. Add a drink ($3.01), and you'll be pushing to $20.33. Finally, let's add tax and 15 percent tip because you are feeling generous towards the cashier. Your meal for one person comes out to about $25.31 (assuming tip is after tax). If you take your family of four, you can easily spend over $100 for burger and fries! Holy moly. The burgers lack flavor because the beef patties are purposely not seasoned. What would Chef Gordon Ramsey think? It's simply ground beef that's pressed into a patty and cooked on a flat grill. Where to begin in this disappointment of a burger chain? A "Little Hamburger", which is probably about 1/4 lb patty was such a letdown. The patty was super thin and completely unseasoned. Not just under seasoned, but not seasoned at all. The only thing giving my burger any flavor were the toppings. I went all the way besides mustard and Mayo. The pickles, grilled onions and grilled mushrooms were a nice touch, and explains why such a small burger has such a high price. But honestly, I don't think they own salt here. The only thing really bad about this place is that it always seems so busy, that finding a table can be a chore. However, that's why I prefer to do most of my ordering here to go to avoid that search and hunt mission. I love Five Guys food. They give you way more french fries than any human could personally need, and they have a cajun variety too. The little burger will fill up any reasonable person and the regular sized burgers are for when you given up on life, your diet, broke up with someone, or are needing to eat more to bulk up for the WWE. The burgers are really that big. Even better, you get to choose how you want to customize it and it's encouraged, so you don't seem like a crazy person with special needs. Another neat thing is that you can order the burger without a bun. It can be in a bowl or wrapped in lettuce. I recently wrapped it in lettuce to experiment and it was so much fun eating that burger with a lettuce wrapping, because it was ridiculous, cute, and still tasty. That's how you know you have a good burger, when even lettuce substituting for a bun, doesn't take away from the quality or taste. I don't eat red meat, but I've heard about the 5 guys fries for a while now. So, I went for a light lunch of a grilled cheese and fries. The cashier was super nice and suggested I add some things into my grilled cheese. I was happy to see a whole list of items you can add to your burger or grilled cheese. So, I ended up with a grilled cheese with grilled onions. It was very good. My husband got a bacon cheese hot dog. He enjoyed it. The french fries were just thrown in the bag. I actually watched the guy behind the counter shovel a bunch of fries directly into the bag, ugh. The fries were pretty good but nothing special. I guess compared to burger king, they are great, but really they aren't so special. They are hand cut, which means you have a variety of sizes, shapes, and some burned ones as well. The music was dreadful. The speakers were tinny, and who wants to listen to Alice cooper and Jethro Tull while eating lunch? So strange. Paid my first ever visit to a Five Guys Burgers and Fries and I must say it was pretty good and a great option for lunch. This particular location is the first in Sugar Land, and from the looks of it, the beginning of a new influx of out-of-town burger chains like Smashburger into the greater Houston area. There are locations also in Rosenberg, Montgomery, and a few around Houston proper. The burgers were pretty tasty. I had a "Little Bacon Cheeseburger" with BBQ sauce, grilled mushrooms, and grilled onions. It was pretty awesome and it hit the spot. They have an assortment of other toppings that you can choose from (like jalapenos, green peppers, A-1 sauce, hot sauce, relish, etc etc) and they re all FREEEEEEEEEEEE which is good - except for the cheese and meat of course. I asked what was the difference between the regular and the little burgers... the regular has two patties of about 1/2 a pound... that was too much for me so I opted to go with the little and I was more than satisfied. We also got the cajun fries... they gave us a LOT of fries - so much that I took it back with me to the office and I still couldn't finish them. They also have Mello Yello and Cherry Coke on the fountain machine... I haven't seen Mello Yello since I was at the Coke museum in Atlanta. Oh and also while you wait you can have free peanuts in a shell... quirky but cool. I love Five Guys! Walked in (it was not busy) and ordered right away. I ordered the regular cheeseburger (one patty) with pickles, tomatoes, lettuce and ketchup. I thought that the burger a little more dry than usual but it still was good regardless. I also ordered the regular fries versus the cajun. I personally did not like the cajun flavor on the fries, but my friends love it so I guess it just depends on your personal preference. This Sugar Land location Five Guys Burgers and Fries is the first time I ever tried their food. Once I entered the restaurant, they have the ordering line layed out by sacks and sacks of potatoes stack on top of each other. The cashier fellow is very up beat even though it was pretty pack house as I went during lunch time. I could see a few guys standing at the pick up location holding their receipt, munching on the free peanuts, waiting for their food, and other customers sitting in the dining area enjoying their burger and fries. Five Guys' standard burger is always double patties. If you feel like it's too much meat, then you would need to order the little hamburger. They only have 4 styles of burgers, regular, cheeseburger, bacon burger, and bacon cheeseburger. All of the toppings are on the house so you can have grilled mushroom or grilled onion with no extra charge. They do also offer hotdogs and veggie sandwiches, but I didn't order those and probably won't planned on because the burger is good enough to have me come back for more. Although the burger is cooked well done, but it wasn't dry like a really well done burger. I had the regular hamburger with grilled mushroom and onions and with the basics (lettuce, tomatoes, pickle, and a shot of mustard). I also ordered regular size fries to go. By the time I got back to work with my take out, the brown bag has turned into translucent paper because it was just so greasy. This could be a good thing and a bad thing as I don't want to die at the age of 38 from heart attack. Over all this franchise in my opinion is better than Smashburger because these guys are really about hamburgers, without the bells and whistles on the menu to distract you for a good burger experience. This five guys is in the strip center right in front of Whole Foods. The burgers are great. The service always fast. They have plenty of seating and get you in and out quickly. I've come here several times for lunch and and dinner. Even on warmer days, sitting outside here is tolerable. I can't really complain about the pricing, because that is the same everywhere.
