First time eating at five guys. The food was basically what I can fix up in my grill, which gives you that home taste burger. The limited amount of cheese they carry is sad which is one kind only. No avocado as a topping which sucks for my wife and i. The food was not bad but not for that price. The fries were plenty and fresh but it is pretty spicy. So my kids and I decided to try this place for the first time. As we were waiting to get our food. I noticed the younger girl that makes the sandwiches was touching all in her hair and flipping it. I watched her walk over and grab some gloves and had them in one hand. She took the other hand and flipped her hair again. So I stopped another worker and told her what I seen. And I had asked her if someone else could make our sandwiches. The girl that was flipping her hair still didn't go over to the sink and wash her hands. While I was still waiting on my food, she was talking a bunch of mess about me. She's lucky I had my kids with me. She is very unprofessional and her customer service sucks. Also, after her coworker told her what I said she started flipping her hair even more. I have never in my life seen someone so rude and disrespectful. I will never come to this location again. Five Guys hits the spot when I'm craving a burger and fries. Is it messy, yes. Is it greasy, yes. Is it delicious, absolutely. I can't really comment on the cleanliness of this restaurant, we always get our burgers to-go. I think it's a theme at all Five Guy's locations to make the burgers look kinda sloppy; I have been to several different locations and all the burgers look the same, kind of thrown together, but they taste good! I usually order the little bacon cheeseburger, which comes with just one beef patty, unlike the regular bacon cheeseburger which comes with two. I request that they grill the onions and jalapeños and it's no issue, they don't mind such requests. The fries here are addicting, but I can never finish them all because they give you a bunch. I save the leftovers and put them in breakfast burritos the next morning and they still taste amazing reheated. I've tried their hotdogs and they are good, but I wouldn't get one again, I mean...do you really go to a burger place to get a hotdog? I've never tried their shakes, but will update my review when I do; I have heard they are good, but haven't had one myself. read more

My friends tried to convince me that this place is THE place to go for the best burgers. I decided to go and my conclusion is . . . its just new. I had never been to a 5 guys nor have I heard about it, but the burgers are a good size and when you order fries they give you enough to fill your cup up twice! That's great. The people are also pretty cool and the environment is really upbeat probably because of the new traffic. As far as the variety, well . . . Here are your choices: Burger, Cheeseburger, Bacon Cheesburger. Fries, Cajun fries. There is though the excellent choice of all the add ins that you want at no extra cost which makes up for the lack of choices. The way the tables are arranged here is little annoying. You have to go in one direction to order your food, and you come out in a different direction. Once your order is ready, you can clearly see where you need to be but you have to go the total opposite way to get there. If you run out of condiments please feel free to do it all over again but beware the ketchup and the mustard are not in the same place. One is by the drinks and the other is a 'hot commodity' that you have to ask for at the counter (a trip that takes you back around the loop). Bottom Line: Overall the food is great and you'll have lots of fun being in a new environment, but you'll be lucky if you stay seated =). read more

There had been so much hype surrounding Five Guys prior to their Sugar Land location opening up that I thought that this place must be the bomb! Unfortunately, as is the case with many things that are hyped, my expectations are raised WAY too high. Needless to say, after this place opened up, I told myself I would try it out. I've been here a handful of times after the opening but came here again not too long ago. When I came here on my recent visit, there wasn't much of a crowd which was a good thing. After placing my order at the counter, I sat down and waited on my burger to be ready. If you need a quick snack, you can help yourself to the peanuts that are offered on the side of the walls, however, I decided to wait for the burger. One thing to keep in mind is that if you order a whole meal (burger, fries, and a drink), you are gonna be paying more than $10. I decided not to go for the fries this time, although, my friend did offer me some of his. The food didn't take long and once my number was called out, I went and picked up my burger from the counter. I'm not gonna lie, they do make a mean burger. It's almost as good as the ones I make at home, however, for the price, I better be getting a hell of a burger! With that said, I think their fries aren't that great. They do give you a huge quantity so, if need be, a small is enough for two people. One word of advice, sometimes they make their burgers a little too greasy which can get somewhat messy so be cautious about certain toppings. Overall, this is better than what you'd find at a fast food but you're also paying for the slightly higher quality. The burger is something I'd definitely come back for but the fries aren't anything to write home about. If you haven't tried Five Guys and are a burger fan, I suggest you give them a try. I had never heard of Five Guys until today. A good friend suggested Five Guys for lunch since we were going to drive down to Sugar Land to meet him. Five Guys has a great concept - they make your burger just the way you like it, when you order it. Sounds like a commercial, I know. All the toppings are free (except for Cheese and Bacon) - including sauteed mushrooms. So you tell them exactly what you want on your burger and they make it to your specifications. Their burgers are quite tasty. The "little burgers" are actually regular portioned burgers with one patty, while the regular size has two patties. I would have liked my cheese more melted, but over all, it was a good solid burger. The fries are good - I wouldn't say award winning like all their signs say, but good and reliable. You can choose Cajun or regular. The Cajun was a bit too strong for me - tasted like that stuff they sprinkle on crawfish - which I'm not really a big fan of, but I ate them anyway since they were still hot and crispy. I ended up sneaking some of my friend's regular fries and dousing them with malt vinegar for good measure. Fortunately for us, one serving of fries feeds several people. Seriously, if you're going with 2 or 3 people - one order is plenty. The place gets busy at lunch, so you probably have to come here early. There is outdoor seating to accommodate more people, but by the looks of their seating area, I don't think that they anticipated they'd be as busy as they are. Since we arrived at Noon, the place was rocking. Fortunately for us, the wait wasn't long and it wasn't too hot outside. We will definitely be back - or at least go to the one closer to our office. MMMMMMM. Fries, oh yeah, good, fries! A friend of mine raved and raved about this place and then finally brought over a huge bag of cajun spiced fries...that's how my french fry love affair started. At first it was just a quickie every now and then, but then the visits became more frequent and I found myself craving the warmth of their presence and constantly wishing I had them with me instead of the foods I was with...I love you Cajun Fries! They've kept a pretty consistent staff here and they do a great job not just with the food, but also running a clean joint. I make sure to drop at least a dollar or two in the tip jar each time to show my appreciation. I shell at least one boat of peanuts and load up on catsup while I wait for my precious cajun fries. Being vegetarian and gluten free, I don't bother with the burgers, but if they're half as good as the fries are (my meat eating friends tell me they are just as good if not better) just make sure your relationship with your other foods is solid before giving them a try. My relationship with nachos hasn't been quite the same since I was introduced to Five Guys. I'm just glad they haven't added a soft-serve, double dipped cone to the menu because I might just have to say good-bye to nachos forever if they do. read more

The quality and service has gone way down since the last time I was here. Brittany M at the register likes to show customers her tongue ring as she flicks it in and out of her mouth while grudgingly taking your order. The tables and chairs were sticky. With the new location right near my house, I just had to try the Five Guys Burgers and Fries... hey that rhymes! Not much of a selection, but I guess that is good for those that never know what to order... there was two guys in line after me and even though you only have the option of a burger, burger with cheese or a burger with cheese and bacon, those two guys still took minutes trying to decide what to get, they even let some people behind them pass them up! Maybe it was all the choices of sides they can have FOR FREE! Everything from green bell peppers to onions and lettuce and pickles. You can add just about anything to the normal burger you can order. I do kind of wish they had more of a selection, sometimes I am in the mood for a little BBQ sauce or some chicken or something. The fries are not to my liking and are only alright when you get the cajon style with ketchup. They give you a massive amount of fries, but thats nothing special when the fries are nothing special. When I was there I was in the mood for a shake too, something about hamburgers makes me want a chocolate shake... yup thats not there either. Usually I don't like Five Guys, but this location is just better than the others I've tried. I usually order a double burger with fresh jalapenos, ketchup, onions, lettuce, and tomatos. Other times, I order a cheese hot dog with relish, mustard, jalapenos, and ketchup. I also really like their cajun fries, even though the fries were a bit burnt and hard the last time I visited. What I like most about this location the most is how their burgers are not greasy, and how the restaurant is clean. They also take orders fast and get the food out as quick as possible. At first look, the burger seems like a monster in it's own right. Yeah, it's not 1lb Fuddrucker burger, but the regular burger with it's 2 savory patties and then stacked with a great selection of toppings, it'll definitely be a challenge to any with small mouths. Although it's not my favorite burger, its still good enough to make my stomach smile with satisfaction. Their cajun fries are also very delicious and I love how they'll just dump extra fries in your paper bag. Yeah, I know it's a bit gimicky, but hey, more fries is more fries. I do believe that if you're the type that wouldn't want your burger to be too greasy, this place might not be the spot for you, but even then... I don't think it's too greasy. If you ever go to Dirty Martin's in Austin, Tx... now that's a greasy burger. But that's for a different review. I would recommend the regular cheeseburger (two patties) to anyone who goes there and share a regular cajun fries with your companion. Alright- when I first heard the name of this place, I chuckled... potential punch line for many jokes there- somewhere... Regardless, curiosity, overwhelming love of a good burger, and close proximity to home got the better part of me. As soon as I walked in, it smacked of In and Out of west coast fame. Turns out Five Guys isn't that far from it in terms of concept- fresh burgers made when you order it, exactly as you want it, all in an open kitchen before your very eyes. The pros: 1: Everything is fresh. 2: Barring the cheese and bacon, whatever fixins you want are all included in the price (they aren't free people... nothing's free, their corp bean counters don't allow it!) including some premium items like sauteed mushrooms and onions. 3: Fries are good and crisp and they have a cajun version as well. What a chain from the east knows about Cajun beats me but it seemed pretty popular. I opted to go with the regular seasoning (salt for the most part). 4: Free peanuts while you wait for your burger, if you're into them. Again, I passed. 5: They have MelloYello!!! The not so Pros: 1: With sauteed onions and mushrooms, the grease of the burger itself, the bun didn't seem to hold up well. It was tasty but just was not rugged enough for anyone who opts go balls out with the "free fixins". 2: The open kitchen is dual edged sword- yeah, it's always nice to watch but man- be ready to smell like the fry cook at a fast food joint when you leave. Get a better HVAC/ventilation system! 3: If you dine in, get to know your neighbors- you'll practically be in their laps. The table s are so close to each other, you feel like you're eating in an elementary school cafeteria, elbow to elbow! All in all- good burger cooked on a flat top. They give you plenty of fries so that you can share an order with a friend. This place is soooo good...but it's the kind of place that you definitely can't eat everyday because it is so heavy. The burgers are delicious and completely customizable, which I like. The ingredients are really fresh, and everything about it is so good! Their fries are also really good...I recommend getting the Cajun style, but definitely share with someone because it's a LOT (size-wise and flavor-wise...if you get them, you'll see what I mean. After a while, the seasoning proves to be a bit overpowering). The food is not healthy for you though. You can see all the grease and fat on the wrapper, and that doesn't make you feel good about it...but it's so good! Definitely recommended to eat here, but maybe only once in a while. This was the best visit ever. I had stopped here to get the usual cheeseburger for lunch. I ordered the burger online from Bryan Beach at 9:40 am. I got to the place in Sugar Land around 11:00 am as the store was opening. I called and was informed that they were waiting on the online system to show the order before making it. I made one request. Would they mind bringing the burger to my car outside when it was ready? Yes, we will do that was the response. In fact, they mentioned that had seen me park when they had come in. At 11:15 am, Tony who normally makes the burger, walked out and handed me the burger which was already paid for. I tipped him and he left me with his creation. Now, a little secret about the burger and the generous use of jalapeños. I take out every bit of jalapeños from between the bottom patty and the bottom of the bun. The heat is transferred into the entire surface of the bottom bun in a kind of osmosis. Heat to enjoy but no heartburn inducing peppers. So I get home with my diet Coke and enjoy the burger nice and slow. Oh, how I savor this lunch. I don't even eat beef, so I was pretty sad when I didn't see a turkey burger on the menu. But oh boy was I glad to see a veggie cheese sandwich on the menu. It was nothing short of AMAZING! Only downside is I asked for no onions and they put it on there, but no biggie I just scrapped it off. And the little Cajun fries are soooooo good! Straightforward, no nonsense, great burger place for the price. You get two burger patties with 2 slices of cheese (that could feed two people, or one very hungry person). Now, I wish the bread from the burger was a bit more sturdy to hold all the contents of the burger. I don't think they they butter and grill their bread prior to placing the hot burger patties over them. But, like I said, the portion size is substantial. I did enjoy their cajun fries, which were also ginormous! One order of fries is placed in a pretty big cup, and placed into a brown bag (where they add another scoop of cajun fries in, just in case you won't be full from eating the huge burger). Surprised by the dearth of places open on New Years Eve, we luckily came upon five guys. Much like InNOut Burgers, I suspect the consistent quality of their food comes from their limited menu the limited things they do, they do right. The burger has a great homemade quality. One caution. Green peppers were an optional add on for the burgers, which I chose. I expected maybe poblano or anaheim and instead, it was green bell pepper. That was my mistake and not theirs. I don't think it is that good. I've been on a burger tear recently. The double patty burger was more like McDonald's then Christian's Tailgate or something. Not crazy about 100 free condiments. My ideal burger is two pieces of bread, a solid patty, cheese, maybe two condiments max (mushrooms, grilled onions), and that's it. Though I was partially responsible - see: 100% responsible - I cannot resist FWP's and stacked my burger with lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, mushrooms, jalapenos,mustard, ketchup, and A1 sauce. We were pleasantly surprised to find it with low occupancy for a Father's Day lunch. It's counter service so you can pick a table and get situated before placing your order. Everything is disposable. Even dining in, your burger will be wrapped in foil and placed in a brown paper bag. The burgers were pretty good, but I can't actually say it was the best I've had. An order of fries is quite large and will include an extra portion. My Cajun fries were well seasoned but sort of soggy. Won't make a big deal to return. read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this sooner! I had my first Five Guys burger ever here, and I've been coming back almost weekly since! It is definitely the best burger from a chain I've EVER. HAD. And the fries are nothing to laugh at either! The cajun seasoning is delicious, and an order can easily be split with a co-worker for a cheaper meal. My first experience with 5 Guys was at the University of Virginia location. What a revelation. I ordered the standard cheeseburger with large fries. I topped the burger off with various FREE sides. I snacked on FREE peanuts while waiting for my order. I did not expect a double patties / cheeses burger with enough fries to feed 4 peoples. The burger and fries were greasy and they were so good. I was done with other fast food burger places. I was so happy that 5 Guys expanded to Texas. When I am in the mood for fast food burger / fries, I only go to 5 Guys. read more
