Not only do Five Guys make my favorite burger, but their staff is awesome as well. My 83 year old grandma fell on sidewalk and busted her face while we were on vacation. The staff were more than willing to go out of their way to help us. Between offering bandages and ice, to the use of the bathroom. Went for a quick lunch today. Great burger, decided not to get fries. (Was surprised and a little disappointed that they no longer yell out, "WHAT?? NO FRIES???" when you eschew their over-priced spuddish side dish.) Burger patties were cooked perfectly, the sesame bun soft and fresh, as I would expect from a 5GBAF. But the cheese wasn't melted at all, and the condiments (A1 and grilled mushrooms in my case) were slapped on messily and got all over my fingers while eating. Still--a very tasty burger at a decent-if-not-great price ($10 and change for my cheeseburger and small drink), and the staff were cheerful and courteous. Stopped by this location last night (Saturday night) after a fun evening downtown. It was a busy night with the film festival, Halloween, etc. The hours posted on the door said they closed at 3am, yet at 2:30, they had already locked the doors. A security guard was there who I talked to and asked to speak to the manager. He said she would not come talk to me and just kept saying to call corporate. Good burgers, great fries. Nice choice of toppings, all free. The place is really good. Only downside is that the meat isn't cooked to tempurature, but is still juicy and flavorful. More later when not on the iPhone. Okay, back on a regular computer, so let me finish off this review properly. It's a walk up counter. Clean place. They have a sign up to let you know where the potatoes are from that day. I found it sort of tongue-in-cheek, but they seemed to take it seriously. You order & pay, get a ticket and then go sit, then they call you up and you get your food. Unlike a fuddruckers or such, they do all the toppings for you. The toppings are plentiful and all free, with sauteed onions &/or mushrooms, jalapeno's, ketchup, mustard, pickle, A-1 sauce, cheese, and a few other select toppings as your choices. They have nice hot dogs, as I got one for the boy and it was good. They butterfly it so it fits nicely flat on a bun. You can do any of the toppings on your dog as well. Like I said, the fries were really solid. I guess Idaho Falls, Idaho has really good spuds, as that was the location of that day's spuds came from. They leave the skin on and it makes for nice texture. It seems to have been copied by a few other places around the area, as I saw it on a couple of other menus while there. I've used their site since the review and it's user friendly and easy to find locations near you. I just found that we have some in this area, including Ft. Lauderdale, Shoppes of Miami & up in Wellington. In all, they have around 15 stores down here. It'll be interesting to see if the quality is consistent amongst the franchisees. read more

Heaven sent burgers - great fries and all the peanuts you can eat (which are very addicting btw). Funny how, San Antonio just had a Five Guys dropped on our doorstep some months ago and yet the first time I try them is in Savannah. ;) All the employees were polite and extremely accommodating. I have always been a huge fan of Five Guys ( I bet you have!) particularly because it is a chain and you can depend on the quality wherever you may be. The burgers are always fresh and juicy. You have 2x's the topping options from a regualar chain or in/out burger place and it's at no additional charge. It is all cooked fresh so it may take 5 minutes or so but it is worth the wait. A meal for two is about 12 dollars w/ soda no fries. So not so bad. Open late - hard to find in this town. read more

For many years now, I have been convinced that nothing could take the place of my beloved In and Out. Then I came to Five Guys and I have to say, it has been replaced. I simply love this place. They do one thing and they do it VERY well, and that's burgers. There's no messing around with chicken and fish and other random fast food concoctions, they just have a grill, and a fryer, and they make it work. The burgers are juicy and huge and cheap. You can get them little (one 1/4 pound patty) or regular (two 1/4 pound patties), and the meat is fresh, not that bad freezer tasting kind. My favorite is that the toppings are all free and the list is huge: standards like ketchup, mustard, and mayo, but also sauteed mushrooms and onions are included. The fries are crispy and fresh, and not really all that greasy. There are two ways to get these, regular and Cajun. Normally I would say that the Cajun are tops, but when you put out Malt Vinegar, I am going all the way with the regular. Just a huge fan. Crispy fries, hot juicy burgers, free peanuts, and loud yet non-obnoxious music. Sold Five Guys, you are my favorite fast food burger. read more

Good cheap burgers, fries and hot dogs. There is nothing fancy about this place but the burgers are damn good. They slice their hot dogs down the middle and grill them and you can get any number of toppings for free--- like bacon, cheese, jalapenos, etc. Five Guys is a great little burger joint, even for a chain. read more

So an interesting story. After a night out on the town in Savannah this morning I stopped in at Five Guys to get a bite to eat around 1:30AM. I noticed there were not any open peanuts so I opened one of the two boxes that were sitting right in the first picture attached. Soon after an employee took both boxes of peanuts to the kitchen. I would like to know why the peanuts were taken way ahead of closing time when they are supposed to be free. This is complete garbage and the fact that the employee was afraid he might have to do some extra work because myself and others we enjoying peanuts while waiting over 20 minutes in line is unacceptable. The second picture shows the crowd when I arrive. Note there are no open boxes of peanuts anywhere. Management needs to educate these employees that customer service is number one. If it is not then the manager needs to be replaced as well. I will not be back to this restaurant and will recommend that my friends and family stay away as well. read more

Around 2:00 am on a Friday night this place was pretty steady. After waiting to order for over 10 minutes they got the order wrong...twice! Even though the receipt showed what we ordered correctly. Since it took 25 minutes to get our order of 2 burgers and a small fries with only five orders ahead of us, I guess deciding against adding bacon since I was told it would be 15 minutes before the bacon was ready really wasn't an issue. They took way to long to get orders, about 20 mins. One guy with red shirt red cap practically did nothing standing there and occasionally putting stuff in the bag. Never rated anything before but had the time to download yelp, create an account, sign into my email and confirm it, and give this rating and still no service. Screw any recent poor reviews. This place rocks! No matter if you have any service or quality issues (I did not), this place is clean. That's right. This guy was wiping down walls, the top of light fixtures and the a/c duct. Details, people, that most good restaurants don't even do. Under new management. I was in Savannah to run their Rock N Roll Marathon again. Wanted to say that some of the more recent bad reviews are no longer applicable. No tacky tip jar on the counter, (it was there last year, 2017). Very friendly staff. The restroom was sparkling clean, as was the eating area. We were greeted promptly and just felt welcome to be there. Everything was cooked coorectly as ordered and promptly served. We did read the recent reviews and were concerned it might not be as nice as last year, 2017, when we visited. Very pleased to see it even better than our last visit, which, by the way, was fine. I just pulled an Adele. I had a bad morning and decided to skip salad for lunch and went straight to a hamburger. No In & Out Burgers here but thankfully there's a 5 Guys which is at least as good, probably even better. We all know the food is great so let me tell you about the service. The woman who took my order really made me feel better. She was kind and funny. Then a woman working the dining room asked if I'd like napkins. When I first walked in, I thought 'hmm, looks like In-N-Out' but I was told this was 'the' burger place to go to. I grabbed a table while the hubby ordered a couple of burgers and fries. After a few minutes wait, I was greeted by a burger that made In-N-Out look like McDonald's. It was AMAZING! No cheap patty here! This burger was delicious! And the prices were fast-food reasonable! The only downer was the fries. They were just ok... in fact, almost soggy. They were plentiful, but we just munched on a few before tossing the bag. But the burgers were worth the trip alone! This was our 2nd night in Savannah, and we wanted a quick dinner where we could eat inside but wasn't crazy expensive. The boyfriend and I decided to walk around and just pick somewhere. Around city market... packed... around our hotel... down River Street... everything was pretty pricey and busy. We were just hungry for something other than southern food and seafood! And then we spot 5 guys, and light shines down from heaven and angels sing. 10 minutes later we're sitting by the windows, people watching and happily munching our cheeseburgers and cajun fries. (SO GOOD!) Hot, fresh, pretty fast depending on the time, and easy on the wallet. Fries are so good, get them cajun style, and burgers are juicy and delicious. Don't be worried about the calories, you're in Savannah and will walk it all off in an hour anyway :) read more
