This is my first Five Guys experience. I WILL try it again, but this review is based on my first and only experience. The Good: The cool set up! I like the decor and the huge bags of potatoes around the eating area. We got LOTS of fries! The Bad: It was not very clear how to order. You can build your own burger anyway you want. But after building a burger, it just tasted like one you could make at home! I was looking forward to a burger perfectly built by Five Guys so I could just order it! The food was just okay. The Ugly: It was more expensive that I would have liked to pay for it. Three value burgers and drinks cost over $30 dollars! Ok, I think the "newness" has worn off Five Guys. It's still a busy burger joint but not like it was when it first opened. They definitely have their busy times. I am hooked on the burger now that I've learned to leave ketchup off (totally too sweet and was throwing off my burger love). I hate that it falls apart before you finish eating but I suppose this is just a good sign of a good greasy burger. They still yell out numbers quite annoyingly but with the noise level in there, I guess you have to. I still say no fries. Way too much and really not anything spectacular. I've not had the cajun seasoning so perhaps that would make all the difference. Now, what I'd like is to order an ice cold beer with it. Guys? read more

This place has some really great food! I am from Southern Ca and love In-N-Out, but I would have to say that this is actually a little better than In-N-Out. There is a huge list of toppings, the burgers are all served as a double so you don't have to worry about the thin patty, you will walk away full, the bacon was crisp which seems that it is hard for a restaurant to do for some reason, and the fries are really good. I am not a fan of fresh cut fries, they are usually droopy, soggy and just gross, but these were crisp, hot and amazing. I had a classic bacon burger, no cheese because I hate American cheese, with lettuce, tomato, pickle and mayo. It was perfect. The veggies were great, the burgers were cooked fresh, hot and tasty, could have used a little more seasoning, but it was still amazing. My husband had a cheeseburger with grilled onions and mushrooms. He ate his, and told me that if it wasn't for the fact that he was so full, he would order another, it was that good. We also ordered a regular fry and a Cajun fry, the Cajun was by far much better, but they were both good. For a chain burger joint, this place is good. Menu is fairly limited but you can create your own burger with any kind of burger toppings. It's the best place for a greasy burger that's tasty and probably clogs your arteries. Cajun flavored fries are great too. You definitely want a small order unless you're sharing or starving. When you need a quick burger that is fresh then look no further. The only place I know in town that serves malt vinegar with the fries. Not the healthiest place but much better and tastier than most fast food options. read more

I usually try to find a local place instead of a chain, but the burgers here are really juicy, fresh, and delicious. The service is polite. Clean (very important) & husband likes their peanuts...lol. Only downside is that I thought the fries were burnt tasting and not as good as in-n-out. But burgers are juicy and large. I'd recommend the mini size if you usually cant finish the regular. read more

Edit/Update 10/13: My significant other really wanted burgers for dinner and suggested we try Five Guys again. Understandably from our previous experiences, I was very hesitant to come back. We placed the order online on their website, which I Highly Recommend, to make it easier to pick up our meal. Upon entering, I was greeted warmly and immediately by everyone despite how busy they were. Letting them know of the order I was there to pick up was quick and easy, they knew exactly what I was talking about and had my order being finished up precisely to order. They even used numbered stickers to remove the guesswork and ensure we had exactly what we ordered. Overall, this most recent experience has vastly improved since the year or so since the last time I was here and was repulsed by the poor training and attitudes that are detailed below in my previous visits. As such I can now recommend this establishment rather than boycott and safely plan on trying this again for variety next time the burger hunger strikes. (Old reviews are being left on here below to highlight the improvement in customer and food experience at this establishment) Second attempt at trying out this establishment: I tried this place out within a week or two of them opening up in Rogers. They were extremely busy, but that was because of being new. The experience was OK, but hardly anything impressive. Their burgers are overpriced for what you get, and their fries are so soggy with grease that they are almost like mashed potatoes. I chalked it up to them being very busy and tried them again a few months later. Sadly the experience was not an improvement. In fact, the second (and my last experience) with Five Guys was worse! Original Review: I went in about 40 minutes before they closed and ordered some burgers. The cashier/person taking my order mumbled so I could barely make out what he was asking me that I wanted on the food. The staff that is supposed to be in charge of cooking were all standing around goofing off for a good 10 minutes after I had placed the order and seemed offended that they had to actually go back to work and make the food. it took 25 minutes for 2 burgers, 2 hot dogs and 2 orders of fries. Not only that but they stood there and glared while I was there eating. Again, the food was soggy with grease and was like trying to eat mush. I've had better at McDonald's, and that's bad when they can do better than a chain that's supposed to rival In & Out in terms of quality and service. I'm not going to go back to this place again. I used to love eating and now I don't think I'll ever return. The food was good as usual but the employees were loud and obnoxious to the point I wanted to leave immediately and could hardly hear my girlfriend talking. I'm a loud person myself, but this was to the point of being blatantly disrespectful to the others around them. Seriously one of the best burgers in town. Cajun fries are amazing. Place is setup a bit awkwardly and is difficult to move around to find a place to sit, but it's worth it. You can have your burger anyway you want it and it's always hot and fresh. Never, ever had a bad meal here. The staff is always friendly. Only wish they had a dedicated person to clean tables so minus one star for cleanliness. No one wants to eat in someone else's dirty table. Get out and clean up! read more

I had my first expirence in Richmond Va. the founding location of the chain. I love this location i go in alot. Both with my family, and with coworkers and we all love the food and the enviornment. The Fries are hand cut from the potatoes in the lobby and the burgers are all made with fresh meat! You cant find anything like this in Rogers. As far as iN and out i would take FG cajion fries and a Bacon cheese burger any day. read more

First time at five guys 12/06/11 i had a cheese burger with mustard, mayo, pickles, lettuce, and onion $5.89 and small french fry $2.89 total with tax $9.58 this was very, very, very expensive for one burger with fries. i had my own bottle of water so i did not buy a drink, that would have been another $2.09 plus tax. it was nothing special just a burger and fries, i have had better and i have had worse both for a lot less money. i threw away 3/4 of the fries, maybe more and i really don't like to waste food. the main thing that really bothered me a lot (the reason for this yelp) was the gristle in the meat at this price you should not have any gristle, it was so tough that i had to spit it out three or four times, yuck. the decor was kind of neat as others have posted. read more

If this review sounds like i'm some sort of Five Guys fanboy... well, it's because i am. I discovered Five Guys Burgers and Fries during my time as a culinary student and cook in Austin, TX. It was rare that i'd go more than two weeks without dropping in to one of the two locations for a fix, and it would often be weekly. Five Guys quickly found its place near the very top of my list of best Austin burgers. So imagine my delight yesterday when it was brought to my attention that a location had opened in Rogers. Plans for a late lunch were made post haste, and i made the drive up this afternoon. I dropped in around 3pm, to find a still busy restaurant, with the majority of the tables still taken. Clearly, word was out, and they had quite the crowd at lunch, and were staffed for that, plus staffed to shake down to a reliable crew. At one point, i counted as many as 17 staffers. That made for a somewhat chaotic and noisy environment, but as business settles down from the insanity of opening and they gel into a solid crew, the chaos will diminish. That said, clearly, the service was prompt. For the uninitiated, Five Guys is a VERY simple concept. The menu is pretty much as follows: Burger, Cheeseburger, either w/bacon, Kosher Dog, Dog w/cheese and or bacon, Grilled Cheese, Fries (w/wo cajun spice), sodas. There are no salads, no milk shakes (though there is a convenient TCBY next door), no chicken sandwiches, or fish tacos, or pork sandwiches. Just burgers and fries. And at their best, they are close to the best. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and an order of cajun fries, with extra spice on the side (i like my fries with some heat to them). It was made quickly, and my number was called out. Here, everything is served in paper bags, ready to go, though you are more than welcome to sit at a table, rip it open, and dig in. My burger was great, the freshness of the beef was obvious, and it was hot and juicy. The bacon was cooked to a perfect crispiness. The burger from this crew would not have been out of place at either Austin location. From my experience, though, i can tell you that my fries were a little short of perfect. It might have been an issue with oil temp or with frying time, but they weren't quite as crispy as they generally are. I should note that Five Guys only serves fresh cut fries. In fact, you can see the sacks of potatoes as you walk in. They are double fried in the proper style, and when you get a bang on, perfect order, they come out perfectly golden brown and crispy. These were close... but not *quite* there. But, i'm sure that is something that will be figured out as the team settles in. As for its place in my personal NWA burger hierarchy, i would currently place it... third. The Bleu Cheese Burger at Farrell's on Dickson is still #1 in my book by a LARGE margin. But Five Guys and Hugo's are neck and neck. On total package, Hugo's takes the lead, just because Hugo's is such a cool place to eat (and they serve beer), but strictly on burgers and fries? it's damn close. In closing, get thee to Five Guys! If you go at peak time, you'll probably have to wait awhile, but with a big staff, i'd imagine it's not *that* bad. But even then, your wait will be well rewarded. Get bacon on your burger, and if you like some spice, get your fries cajun style. But above all, GO TO FIVE GUYS! EDIT: Why is everyone interested in comparing Five Guys to In-n-Out, when, the last i checked, the closest In-n-Out IS IN DALLAS FREAKING TEXAS??? perhaps compare things to places people here can actually reasonably go? read more

Five guys, Rogers, Arkansas. Where shall we begin. Six cooks yelling at each other certainly ruins whatever atmosphere there could be. You can't hear the guy trying to yell order numbers over them and the music which is pretty loud. Score zero for a pleasant meal. I know they are new and busy but could we mop the floor? The French fries were over cooked and way over priced. $2.69 gets about a dollars worth of fries. My first trip in I purchased the "regular" hamburger which turns out to be a double burger and no warning. I HATE double burgers plus the bottom bun was soggy. I decided to give them another chance and went back. My small burger (single) was "all the way" meaning they put lots of stuff on it. Everything they put on is sliced so thin and so little of it you don't if anything is there. The bottom bun on my burger was soggy again. That may be a result of juice off of the "all the way" stuff? Whatever the reason I am no fan of soggy buns. The burger itself is not bad but the negatives far outweigh the positive. Two small burgers, one small French fry and two small drinks, $15.54. Way too much money for what it is. Some people are comparing this place to In and Out. This place is no In and Out. Not a Back Yard Burger either. Personally, I'll stick with Wendy's $1.29 deluxe burger. It's just as good and you can't wring water out of the bun. Did I mention the service is slow. Love Five Guys, but this one is at the bottom of the pack. Will go back to Five Guys whenever visiting another city, will not go back to this one. They got the order wrong, when I pointed it out, the manager argued with me that she packed the order herself and it was correct. She then called me back to apologize saying when the order was correct but packed by the fry cook. Let me start off by saying that service is the foundation of any successful business that involves direct interaction between employees and customers. Having said that, I am from San Diego, CA, and I am visiting a friend in Rogers. He decided we should grab some burgers and brought us over here. This a review of THIS Five Guys store not the company as a whole. Their burgers, when made properly are good for a fast food chain. This store however might want to get corporate in there to teach the employees. We have ordered takeout 5-6 times since they opened. They have yet to get an order correct. This last visit was the final straw...will not be back. Simple order. 2 burgers...one with everything one with everything except onions. Got home and one had everything...the other had meat and bun. I mean really. I also observed the production line while I waited. The "anchor" of the line basically wanted to sit and chat it up with off duty emps or friends that came to see them...and give them bags to load up for take out of free peanuts? wow Plus, what is with the fly situation in there....they are everywhere. If I am going to pay $6+ for a fast food burger...the place better be clean, efficient, and be on the ball with at least 95%+ of my orders. You had me with Five Guys...you lost me with the crew of this store. I have heard about the hype around Five Guys and so I finally decided to give them a try, understanding that the benchmark for me is In-N-Out Burgers and Red Robin. Ordered a cheeseburger and small fries. The cheeseburger was good...not great...but good but the fries lacked flavor and seasoning. Had to go home and add salt after they cooled off which is hard to do because adding salt after they are hot causes the salt to drop off. Considering what I ordered it was expensive ($11 with tax no drink) in my opinion and I can get a better burger and fries at Red Robin for about the same cost and get bottomless steak fries. I might try them again but not anytime soon read more

Average burger and the fries are bad. How do you make them dark and burnt smelling but limp and soggy at the same time? Liked the idea that they have sauteed onions and mushrooms for no add'l charge but that and the peanuts were the only good surprises on this first visit. I'll try the burger one more time (maybe) but won't fall for that fry trick again. I don't feel like steak n shake or the other burger guys in town have much to worry about here. read more

The burgers here are decent, but way overpriced. The fries are alright, but the bottom of the cup they came in was complete grease; kind of nasty in my opinion. My biggest reason for the low rating though is the fact that when I went to place my order I was asked what I would like in spanish. WTF? First of all, the majority of customers here speak English. I'd heard so many mixed reviews about this place I was anxious to try it for myself. The food itself would probably get five stars. The burgers are really are great (their jalapeños are fresh not pickled) and made the way you like them and the fries are fresh. Their menu is simple. Burgers with assorted toppings, fries and hotdogs. The things I didn't like were the tables were small, cheap and too close together. We had to sit at a table that was beside the waiting line, so everyone in line is watching you eat (I hate to do this anywhere. It's worse than getting the table by the restroom). Luckily we were wedged between the potato bags, so I didn't have the issue of people bumping their butt against me walking by, but I was able to offer mine up to others on the way to the drink fountain. It did seem a little pricey $20 for two burgers, and order of fries and two drinks, but it was very good and not your typical fast food burger. I did think it was very noisy, but I think this is part of the experience, so I didn't mind. We weren't expecting a romantic lunch. There were some couples with kids, that appeared to be struggling. If you have small children (I don't), they don't appear to be kid friendly so maybe take out would be a better option for you, because they didn't seem to be enjoying it. They do have some outside seating, but it was too hot to use it the day we went. On a cool day, this might make the experience a little better. I would definitely recommend them read more
