By the time you get a burger, fries, and a drink, you're easily spending what you would at a sit-down restaurant. The quality is great, but if you're looking for something budget-friendly, this isn't it. The atmosphere is simple and casual, with an open kitchen where you can watch your food being made. Service is usually quick and friendly, but there's no drive-thru, so if you're in a hurry, it might not be the most convenient option. I am very disappointed in Five Guys and I would have thought this company would be better than this. Yesterday someone hacked into my account and placed not one but two orders from this location, within 3 minutes of each other and to be delivered to Virginia Union University. My account clearly shows that I am in Florida, not Virginia and two orders nearly identical placed back-to-back should have been a red flag, but apparently not. The orders were placed and I was charged a total of $77.90 on my credit card. Needless to say, I have reversed those charges and closed that account. I also will not do any more business with Five Guys as they obviously don't care about the security of their customers. All they had to do was call to verify these orders and they would have known that it was fraud, but they couldn't be bothered. I'll keep my business with companies that actually work toward ending fraud, not assisting it. read more

Good place. New building and it always seems clean on the outside. Covid 19 has everyone struggling, customers and owners. These guys make it look easy. Ordered on my phone. Payed by phone. When I got there it was complete. Quick check of the bag before I left. They provided napkins, ketchup for fries and solid packaging with easy to read writing on the food. I don't eat here often. I'll do it again. Thank you Five Guys. Only downside, they didn't ask what car I would be driving so they had to go from car to car asking about food orders. Stopped in for a burger and the young lady at the front was super nice. She greeted us immediately, was friendly while taking the order. She offered us water cups when we did not order drinks. So an east coast resident mentions, "Hey you guys have in-n-out on the west coast right?" "Yeah, we do."..... "You guys ain't got shit on this place." It sounds like dem fightin' words, but lemme tell you, this place delivers. Where in-n-out relies on the utmost simplicity, five guys lends itself to variety. The draw here is you have an extensive menu of toppings and brevy of sauces for your burger, that a free of charge......yes, free! Think of it like subway, but for burgers. I personally like the jalapeno, bbq sauce, grilled onions and grilled mushrooms and bacon- yes, this bacon is fresh, not that thin, pre cooked crap you get from jack in the crack. The burger itself is nothing like i've ever seen at a chain before. You dont have those uniform round frozen discs, these babies look handmade, lumps and all. Your "standard" burger is automatically 2 patties, you need to request a little burger if you want 1. Cheese and bacon cost extra, but believe me its worth it. The fries are mammoth. My friend said we could share one large for like 3-4 people, i was like please. She wasnt kidding, this mammoth cup came full to the brim in a bag, in which about a half cup more of fries laid at the bottom, wtf are you serious? If you have a choice, get the cajun. Last but not least, there are a few cardboard boxes completely FILLED with peanuts you can munch on for FREE. They also have my favorite, cherry coke, which CA seems to have shunned for god knows why. And while this is dependent on location, the employees were genuinely friendly....wish i could bring back just a hint of this magic to the bay area. MAY BE THE BEST BURGER IN TOWN I always feel guilty giving a fast food place five stars, but 5 Guys, does the burger biz right. The quality of their food and their friendly staff seems to be built into the business model and rivals Starbucks in terms of business consistency. I've been meaning to check this place out, but just didn't get to it in San Diego (there's one in North Island and Point Loma). If you like having good food and a large amount of fries, this is the place to get it. People like to compare this place to In & Out, but I believe it's more like Fatburger minus the egg. My order: Cheesburger, Little hamburger (Girlfriend's), and cajun fries. The difference between a cheesburger and little cheesburger are the patty's. The cheesburger has two patty's while it's little brother only gets one. All the toppings are free and seem very fresh. I also like the fact that this place tells you where the meat is from. The burger was pretty good and pretty juicy. The cajun fries tasted great and there was a lot of it. People that work here are very friendly and the service is quick. The wait for my food wasn't that long and they even have free peanuts to munch on for the wait. As far as the dining area, it seemed very clean and spacious. We had a group of five people so we combined two tables together to accommodate everyone. Overall the dining experience was great, but you can't expect much from a fast food joint. It was clean and the employees are friendly and you can't beat that. I'm giving this place four stars because of the great food and fast service. The price isn't so bad as well. 25$ meal for two was the worst waste of money ever. 3-2-2020 order number 85 on register 1....Ordered a simple cheeseburger with the toppings on the side and it came out fully loaded... but also had bacon on it. When I took it back to the register to get it corrected they wanted to just pull the bacon off instead of making the order right. Fries were just thrown in a bag. Comparing Five Guys to In-N-Out is doing an injustice to both burger places. They are nothing alike except maybe in their decor bordering on cutesy. Five Guys offer fast, relatively cheap charbroiled burgers with some great, fresh toppings (grilled or raw jalapenos? yum!). I love that all of the toppings are free to add on, and the burger is pretty juicy and tasty. The fries are decent, but very uneven - since they're natural cut fries, some get burned and others mushy. The service is nice and friendly, and parking is pretty plentiful out front (no drive through) if not during school hours. That being said, it's great for gawking at undergrads. read more

Five Guys is spreading across the country at a blistering pace. Who knew that a business that started by five brothers in the DC Metro Area would become such a phenomenon? Well, it is called doing the basics right....just like McDonald's started out. What do they do? They concentrate on the two big basics that have made them so well liked: Burgers and Fries. They have a board that tells you where your fresh cut fries are coming from. The interiors are simple red and white tile and the awards they have been getting for their food are splashed all over the walls. They also have a nice soundtrack playing in the background. The vibe is upbeat and the workers are helpful and energetic. The regular burger is two patties so I would recommend ordering a small so you aren't overwhelmed. Now, let me be the first to say that I am always going to prefer a burger on a grill over one cooked on a hot sheet of metal, but these do well due to the freshness and hand formed beef flavor that is retained. The buns are also light and airy. Toppings are plentiful as is the variety of sauces. They use American cheese on the burgers too. PS Prepare to share the fries. Barrels of peanuts will keep you busy while you wait, and it won't be long. Drinks are self service and you can drink yourself silly. The take away is that this is a fresher and higher quality of alternative to Wendys, Hardees, McDonald's, and they are better to their employees then most chains. read more

Bleh. I feel so insulted for In & Out that people keeps comparing Five Guys to them. I was expecting something similar after all the talk, but I don't get it because the two places are totally different and the quality of food at In &Out is SO much better. Moving on... Five Guys is OK for a cheap fast-food burger, but its a far cry from the best burger I ever had. The only difference I see between Five Guys and McDonalds is that they use real hand-made patties and wrap it in tinfoil. Otherwise its basically your normal greasy fast food burger on a ridiculously smashed bun. Seriously why is the bun so smashed? Its really off putting to eat because it looks so unappetizing especially with the tiny peices of poorly cut lettuce falling off. You get a ton of fries, but they are kinda overcooked. Usually a place on a busy road near a college doesn't have the most "I'm so excited to greet you" faces, but the lady taking our order hit it out of the ballpark! The lady at the front who seemed to be the manager was really nice to me. The cleanliness of the store is okay. I watched a young lady put her apron on after coming out to the main floor to put ketchup in little containers. She proceeds to grab the trash can by the kitchen and pulled it back there... with her apron on. I'm not sure if anyone is familiar about the cross contamination and how disgusting that is. I'm just glad she's not making my food and someone else is. I wouldn't want to a watch someone take trash out with the clothes they are preparing my food with on the front line. The wait was not long at all, and my sandwich was very neatly put together, especially since I had so many toppings on it. Their fries are definitely one of the best and they always taste so fresh. I will say I love Five Guys fries, as a Brit I like to think I know my "chips" and these are as good as any, and definitely better than that reconstituted stuff masquerading as something that was once a potato but now has a much taste as a down comforter which is what is dished up at every other burger chain. Last night two of us had bacon burgers and a regular fries between us, with one fountain drink, the bill came to $20.95. Not exactly cheap , but there are people who pay $5 just for a cup of coffee so......you be the judge. Nothing fancy, tables and chairs, good for family, busy at most times of day weekends in particular. Parking can get challenging . One word to those with nut allergies, Five Guys offers shelled peanuts to its customers while they wait for burgers. BE Warned if you or anyone in your party is allergic to peanuts don't go here, there are often shells on the floor and peanut dust. I feel as if there ought to be a warning about posted on the door and there isn't , especially since so many people have a peanut allergy. Good for takeout, you can order on line. Everything has a cookout taste and a greasy bite, while this particular location let's you sit in and enjoy the rumblings of broad street. This Five guys location is good but at times, since its on campus, can be very busy to a point that you would have to wait longer for a table then your food. For the most part the kitchen moves pretty fast and if your there just to grab your food and move on then there really isn't much worry. What a unique hamburger/hot dogs/BBQ restaurant situated down in an almost hidden location. I discovered it as I drove by a guy standing on the side of the road holding the banner. I immediately went to Yelp to check on the reviews and to see what they served. How strange and odd that I have driven by here so many times. The waitress was friendly and receptive to my indecisive choices. She gave me time to check out the choices. I wanted to try each item. I decided on the Coney Island hot dog. It is served on a homemade hot dog roll with a juicy hot dog that snaps as you bite down on it. This is how a hot fog should be delivered at a restaurant. Fries are hot and crispy. Again, they delivered what one wants when you love hot dogs as much as I do. I'll definitely will come back with my husband ASAP to share the experience. You know when you're smoking crack and you're thinking "this is so amazing!" Then, immediately afterward, you feel bad. Horrible! Yeah, that's about right. The burger tastes great, and you can load it up (yeah, we all know this part) to the point that it'll get really messy! The fries are even better, and you'll hammer them down your hole thinking "I need to stop. But I can't!" They nailed it, and the staff is even friendly and reasonably good at their craft, as simple as it really is. But as you walk in, there's that lingering doubt. I should have gone home and eaten anything else in the world, because my day is going to come to a screeching halt as soon as I open this greasy bag.
