This is a decent location for Five Guys - conveniently located in Potomac shopping area. The restaurant is cozy and does have a few tables near the entrance for outdoor seating. The location is also busy during meal times and are open until 10 PM on most days. The staff is friendly too and helps you with the order if needed. Service is quick too and we have been able to get the food within 5 minutes. They do give you a hard time on getting more napkins for some reason! The food is good - like other Five Guys. There is also a sack of peanuts waiting by the ordering counter that guests can dig in to while waiting for the food to arrive. It's always fun to crack open peanut shells and make a mess when you do not have to do the cleanup later! Our go to items are of course the burger (with cheese, grilled onions, and grilled mushrooms), hot dog, and fries - gotta have them while they are hot! The sauce on the burger is good too. Reminds me of In-and-Out burgers! And two patties in the burger are better than one :) A nice place for greasy fast food when in the mood. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, specially during the weekends. read more

Typically I love Five Guys, great quality burgers. This location, however, has messed up my order the past three times I've come in so I'll no longer be getting my burgers here. If you're brave enough to come, make sure to check your order. They're notorious for intentionally not grilling the jalapeños and leaving the bacon off your burger! I am so happy that this Five Guys is open. I have been craving a big, juicy, meaty Cheeseburger. At Five Guys you can add tons of extras to your burger with no extra charge. What? Yes, I speak the truth! I added grilled mushrooms, pickles, lettuce, and tomato. It was cooked perfectly! It was delicious! It was big too, and I didn't order a larger portion. Yes, size does matter and this portion was generous. The fries were awesome! I could not keep my hands out of the bag, as I drove back to work. They reminded me of beach fries and they were hot and crispy! Not to mention, that they were seasoned well. The service was great! I always worry when I am at work, trying to order food, and get back with enough time to eat. The staff behind the counter was pleasant, quick, and helpful. Been to Five Guys at various locations in Maryland and Virginia in the last decade. The Germantown location has been in my son's special request rotation. This location is small but the staff is very friendly and patient. My son is 16 and has Autism, so he needs a bit of time to assess the menu then order and they are always happy to let him think and not rush nor ignore him. Expectations are a MF... Last week I placed an order at 2:30pm. Employee answers the phone with the least friendly monotone voice I've ever heard, "hello?" I order a Bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, onion, pickles, and mayo. I'm usually given a time my food will be ready; it's almost always, "10 minutes." This day I was hung up on. I leave my home in Potomac Village 15 minutes after I place the order and head to Five Guys. No announcement of my name. Rookie day? They're dead. One table has two customers with their food. I say, "is this order ready?" and show my receipt. No. It wasn't. My burger was in the bag, but the fries were still cooking. Five guys, why are you so content leaving the food with nutrients in a bag for X minutes, but sh*t, fries gotta be fresh out the fryer? I waited for my small fries for 10 minutes in the store. The "small fry" order filled the entire bag, covering my aluminum foil wrapped burger. This was genius, as it took me more time to find, surprise, that I received a bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and ketchup on it. No onions. No pickles. No mayo. Added tomato. Added ketchup. The order on my receipt was correct. Whomever assembled the burger can't, or didn't read. File this under, "you had one job." You only succeeded at NOT giving me food poisoning. The people here are great, the food tastes fresher and far less greasy then their other locations. Are they just stepping up the quality because they are in Potomac?? These are my go to place for burgers. And now that they are like everywhere... I've already stop going to Burger King & McDonald. My only problem with Five guys sometimes are their Fries. Sometimes they forget to put a little salt on them or they come-out too soggy. Fries need to be seasoned well & crispy. But, they are the only place that gives out free peanuts while you wait. Good god. I've always known that Five Guys makes amazing delicious fresh incredible burgers, but milkshakes too, with all add-ins for free?! That is downright unfair. The cashier grimaced in what seemed like horror as my boyfriend and I ordered a milkshake with chocolate fudge, peanut butter, oreo pieces, and malted milk. Damn was she wrong. That had to be literally the best milkshake/malt I have ever had in my life. Perfect thickness, great temperature (is that a legit compliment for a shake?), some chunks of oreo still left in there--perfection. Go for the burgers, come back for the shakes. A Five Guys in Potomac Village? Even though they had been advertising it before opening, I thought it was nothing more than a cruel joke. Especially with the stink all the Potomac mommies put up about a McDonald's going into Cabin John over a decade before, I didn't think it would be possible for us to get another burger joint, but lo and behold, the best Five Guys in the entire franchise is now my next door neighbor! While this doesn't bode well for my bikini body, how can anyone with a pulse say no to a mouth-watering juicy burger made to order with free toppings galore? While it's no In-N-Out, I truly feel this is the closest I will get to the holy grail of burgers while at home in Potomac. The staff is always wonderful and once they get to know you, you can just tell them you want your "usual" and they'll know just what to do! My puppy, who can't eat red meat, but is a fan of their buns, is even luckier than I am because they ALWAYS throw in a free warmed up bun just for her. I have yet to find another place (or even Five Guys location) who will do that! The only reason I've docked 1 star is because no matter how busy or how slow things are, there is always a ridiculously long wait from when you order your burger to when you get it. This wait is actually longer than at other Five Guys locations, and I'm not entirely sure why. But for the level of service I get and the cleanliness of the joint (I'm so OCD about it!), I'll never go anywhere else for a burger in MoCo! read more

First of all, I love Five Guys. One of the best tasting burgers, and fry's, against the plethora of burger places out there. With that said, I'm not sure what happened to the Potomac, MD location and now will not go back to this location. On my last three visits, today be the last, this location got my order incorrect all three times. Today, for instance, I ordered a little bacon cheese burger with fixings. The first burger didn't have any bacon. The second included jalapenos that I didn't order, no grilled onions or any ketchup or mustard. And the third attempt, they took the second burger, scrapped off the jalapenos (and embedded cheese), and smothered a now cold burger without cheese with SO much ketchup and mustard it was not only un-eatable but made me feel like they were making a statement by over condiment-ing because I asked for it to be corrected yet a third time. They did offer to make it yet again, a fourth time. I asked for a refund, and they gave me one less the sales tax I paid and the 20% tip I had previously included. Love 5Guys but won't be a patron anymore at their Potomac, MD location. Suggest you check your order before you leave from this location. read more

I'm so glad Five Guys is in Potomac Village! If you look closely, a lot of stores in the Village have closed down and there is a lot of empty and dead retail space all over. Most of the other stores in the area have been uninteresting and lackluster. Does anyone remember that Chico's was the only clothing store in the area at one point? That horrible restaurant called Flapjack's or whatever? I'm so glad that Potomac Village is undergoing a bit of a Renaissance now. So it is a big breath of fresh air to have a store come in that is current with the times and serves delicious food in a family-friendly atmosphere. I can't understand how some people would downrate it for just being Five Guys; if your issue is with the entire chain (for nutritional reasons or whatever), it doesn't make sense to take it out on an individual franchise. Also don't understand how some people can call it perfect and give it less than five stars, but I digress. ordered here the other day. may i just say in my whole life i have probably only eaten at five guys like 4 times. this is due to the fact that its sooo UNHEALTHY! lol yes they allow you to add whatever toppings you would like BUT then you cant even fit the damn thing in your mouth. lol also, every time i order it, its always smushed and drippy with sauce. i just feel like i can get a better burger else where but because its convenient to where i work i chose to order here. i also ordered the cajun fries which i feel taste exactly like the regular fries lol pros about this place... I know one FiveGuys isn't that different from another and I don't frequent them that often. But when I do, it is reminder how greasy their burgers are. And this location in Potomac is almost annoying in terms of the noise level. You have music playing loud enough to make talking difficult and then you have the guys behind the counter singing.
