Stopped by Taco Bar El Guero and went straight for the burrito bowl--split between steak and…read morepastor. Honestly, both were excellent but in different ways: the steak had that nice charred flavor you want, while the pastor came through with a touch of sweetness and spice that kept every bite interesting. The toppings were fresh, portions generous, and everything felt well-balanced (not just rice filler like some spots do). What stood out was how flavorful the proteins were on their own--you could tell they marinate and season with care. The vibe here is casual and welcoming, the kind of place you can pop in for a quick bite, hang out with friends, pick up dry cleaning, or get gas. Yes you can do all of those things under the same roof. Prices are fair for the quality, and you definitely leave full. If you're in Gaithersburg craving Mexican street-style flavors, this spot is worth the stop.

Their ingredients are fresh, quantities are great, and service is pretty good--given that it's not the most upscale setting. I would've given it 5 stars but they accidentally dropped meat on some of my vegetarian bowls prior (however they've always reimbursed us for mistakes, which is great customer service). The ladies working in the back work very hard and their labor of love does shine in the food. This place actually rivals SoCal mexican food. If you're in the area, skip Chipotle and come here to try their burritos, tortas, nachos, bowls and horchata, and tres leches. Also if you're brave check out their spicy red sauce! It's literally one of the best hidden food gems of Moco.

So glad we got to experience it. The moment we sat down, the server provided complimentary chips with salsa. Delicious. Some of the many items we ordered were: Guacamole - great. tacos : shrimp, carne asada and lengua. Highly recommend the lengua tacos. Tacos themselves looked and tasted handmade. Chimichanga - large portion and finished with no complaints. Queso ( cheese) Quesadilla : right on point. Kids chicken tenders : embarrassed that we order this but something for the kiddos who haven't or are still developing their palates. Wouldn't recommend though. A bit dry. Wonderful selection of drinks : fountain drinks, frozen lemonade ( delicious) and horchata ( great). They do have a nice bar with a wide selection. Ambiance was laid back and quite quiet with the busy road nearby. 4.35 stars.

I ordered their pupusas (pork and cheese) and it was definitely done right. The steak/shrimp fajitas are also a very good option. Service is quick. I think weekdays their business is a bit slower. Very casual and spacious restaurant but limited parking.

And laughed and shook their heads when I asked them about the Smashburger taco Price. The ambience was great. Two huge TVs to watch wail you eat. And restaurant was clean. I will definitely be back.

The taco shells themselves were grilled so that they had a good texture without losing flavor. The sauces that come with the tacos don't do much for me. One is really spicy, but no apparent flavor. The other was "meh". The taco plate came with a few slices of cucumber, which was a nice touch. The restaurant itself is not a great place to sit in. Today, the TV was on in the background really loud showing a Nickelodeon kids program (no kids or teens in the place) and the walls and tables in the restaurant are all black. In my opinion, not the best place to hang out for a leisurely meal. But that's me. Food very good, ambience "meh".

They were better than I expected. All looks very appetizing and smell so good. It seems really homemade style, fresh ingredients and aromatic. The chicken empanadas are surprisingly huge and you got 2 pieces for $11, that is reasonable, for me. As well as Tacos cost just about $3-4 each, it is a soft Taco with corn tortilla and flavorful seasoned filling, plus green salsa - that's perfect combination. I have not much to say about service, as it was a take out by online order but it was smoothly pick-up, everything was ready and packed nicely when I was arrived. The restaurant is quite tiny and old building at the back, but there are plenty free parking available around. Mainly for take out order but I think you can dine-in too - there are some seating table inside and outside. The Trippy Taco menu seem variety and interesting. They have not only Taco, but also a lot selection of Burrito, Soup, Quesadillas, Sandwich. Nacho and Fries. Yes, don't judge a book by its cover before you explore it.

I ordered carryout, including a pulled chicken Gordita, a pulled goat meat Gordita for the same amount, some chicken tacos (soft flour shell with white meat grilled, chopped chicken topped with very little), and the Tacos Dorados (fried tacos stuffed with shredded chicken and topped with green salsa and cheese). Pictures are from when I got home with my food. Needless to say, for $32 or so (which includes a 20% tip), I had enough food for 3 meals. The Gorditas, while not necessarily healthy, definitely fill you up. The Tacos Dorados were very good for a late night, post drinking (water, of course!), dinner, and the chicken tacos were excellent for a next-day lunch. Accompanying my food were two different sauces -- a red sauce that did not have much flavor, but was scorching hot on the palette and a green sauce that was very tasty and moderate in heat. Overall, an outstanding choice for authentic Mexican food that was very, very good.
