Five Guys is not your typical junk food, fast food or burger joint. In the realm of burger fans, Five Guys is considered one of the best in America's huge and growing chain burger industry. So much so that the online food industry Food Republic (https://www.foodrepublic.com/2080105/best-american-burger-chains-ranked) ranked Five Guys as 6th in their top 9 best national burger chains. Of all the chains I have had the pleasure, or sometimes displeasure of trying, Five Guys most often tops my list. Burgers are juicy, toppings are fresh and varied, and they really don't take long making them - thus fast offerings - burgers, dogs, fries and shakes! Although Five Guys do offer their regular brand menu and special offerings an admirable daring of having a limited menu in a competitive environment - so they specialize well and do good by it. As an occasional junk food-eater I've over the years dutifully tried everything on Five Guys 's menu quite a few times and love their consistency and quality. So as to make it easy to gauge each of these places, when I do try them, I've devised a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being outright down and dirty nasty, and 5 being the best a fast-food joint can be! I gauge: 1) cleanliness; 2) quality service; 3) product quality and consistency; 4) convenience; 5) accessibility; 6) taste; and 7) the personnel's attitude and customer service level. I do not review any location without visiting it a minimum of twice. This place scores 4.5 of 5. I will come back and do highly recommend it! read more

They have In & Out beat taste wise. But they don't because a burger, fries, coke and added shake was $29. They need to shave $10 off that. I'm stuck at 3 stars because of the price only. Being married to Mr Cheeseburger we go to a lot of places that serve them. I doubt I've paid much attention to a restaurant receipt in years but even I know $ 6.19 for French fries is a little on the high side, especially when the "Entree'" comes wrapped in foil and the fries are in a paper cup. Yes, this Salad Girl Ioves a good burger and fries on occasion and if I'm going to eat the calories this is the place I choose for a great burger cooked my way with my toppings and a load of the perfect fry. My first visit and my last visit!!! The worst Five Guys I've ever visited!!! Poor customer service. There were 3 employees working. Two working the burgers and the third making a milkshake. I was standing at the order station. They all three looked at me... not a hello or we will be with you soon. It took 7 minutes to be acknowledged. And 5 additional minutes to be helped. There were three orders ahead of mine. When the guy finally took my order, it was if I was bothering him to do his job. I sat for 15 minutes and I decided to stand... There were some signs indicating a wet floor... But, in all actuality there is a leak in the roof. It dripped all over me not even where the signs were posted. No verbal warning by the staff. 10 minutes later I got my order and headed home. When I got home in and wrapped my burger half of the cheese was on the tinfoil... No Bueno. The only saving grace is the french fries and I ordered the Cajun fries. That's the only reason I gave them three stars. I heard a story a while back about this chain on NPR, started by brothers, and there was a lot of hype around how "great" the food was.... uh.... nope. In fact it was terrible. I finally had to try it for myself and let's just say I was immensely underwhelmed. More like massively disappointed. First of all, a single patty sandwich (little burger) and small fries (little fries) cost $17.00. Then a bottle of f'in Dasani water is THREE DOLLARS! You can buy a case of purified water at the market for $3. Honestly, none of that would be a problem if the food was actually good -- but it f'in wasn't. It was HORRIBLE. The burger was absolutely tasteless. Bland doesn't even begin to describe it. It really, really sucked. My bun was also squashed. For $17 I want a normal f'ing bun thank you very much. I had just had a "stuffed" burger in Mesa the day before and it was infinitely better. Having this tasteless burger the next day made me vow never to come back, but the capper was a man and woman coming in while I was eating and their order was... brace yourself... $96 for four sandwiches and fries. Wow! Never thought I'd give Five Guys less than FIVE stars but today sucked! I tried the curbside option because we wanted to stay in our car. I ordered fine, and I received an email to notify them when I am on my way and when I arrive. (I did this as instructed). I waited and waited...eventually went inside after my frustration got the best of me (and mind you I was already hangry thinking about my burgers this whole time). I went in and saw a lot of people waiting for food (not a great sign). I went up to the counter to ask where my food was, but no one came to my rescue....so I got in line (yes, waited in the order line, to wait to ask for my food I already ordered and paid for - BOOOO!). No one had any sense of urgency in this place, but I finally got to the cashier and explained my sad story. He says they have it inside and can still deliver to my car....Um, no...I am in here, give me my food. He calls back to say "pick up for Roger" and everyone ran to grab my food! just kidding, no one moved. After a bit he did it himself. They're on the pricier end when it comes to burgers, but you're pretty much guaranteed to be satisfied and full once you're done. I love getting the bacon cheese burger (minus the bun) in either a bowl or wrapped in lettuce. Their beef and bacon is so tasty and quite a lot thicker than In-and-Out, and you can get really creative with the toppings. I usually like to pile on mustard, jalapeños, hot sauce, tomatoes, and dip it all in mayo on the side. There's plenty of room inside and it's never as packed or chaotic as In-and-Out. They also have the custom soda machine where you can add cherry/vanilla/orange/etc to your usual drinks. I usually spend about $10 or so for a huge burger, but it's a fun treat. read more

I got a burger, and it was delicious! The meat was pretty juicy and all the toppings I ordered were correct. The only thing I disliked was that it was pretty greasy. The oil even went through the paper to bleed through the other side. The burger was still good, I just wished they would wipe the oil a little before serving. Love this crew! Greeted with a boisterous "hello" the moment I walked through the door. Cashier taking my order, walked me through the menu because I told him I haven't been there in a while. I've been going to five guys for years! Their food has always been on point and the order has always been made correctly until today. I was at the five guys in Phoenix Arizona on 7th avenue and Bell and ordered to go a little burger with everything on it and I get home and it only has lettuce, tomato and mayo on it. Not only that, but the bun was hard and felt like it had been sitting out for a while. This is after waiting 20 minutes for my order for one hamburger, I figured the long wait times they would have at least got the order right. When I call to let them know nobody would answer the phone so I won't be going back there for a while. Guess it's back to in and out. read more

Ate here last night (Ray & I-10) and was very disappointed in the cleanliness of this place. They only have 8 tables to eat at and every table was dirty or taken, I pulled out my cleaning supplies to wipe down our table and chairs. The soda machines and the condiment area were filthy as well. Two employees were leaving as we walked in and the manager should have had them clean before leaving. Very clean, I like clean. I was afraid of ordering the big burger because I thought it would be something out of man vs food. I went with the small burger and it didn't disappoint. The guys I went to lunch with all got the big burger and I have to say, I couldn't tell the difference. So don't let it scare you like it did me. All in all it was a very tasty, greasy burger. Medium fries are more than enough. I don't particularly care for fries with skin still on though.
