It's Friday night at 2148 and raining in Phoenix. While this is a rare occurrence, this location's Make Your Own Business Hours are not. The doors are locked again. It's the year 2025. Which is the only reason I ordered through the app. But when I went to pick up my order, they wouldn't honor the coupon. And refused to give me my free double del cheeseburger. I have no idea why. I just wanted my free double del cheeseburger. I didn't want any trouble. The guy at the drive thru window said the coupon didn't go through when I placed the order on the app. But it should have. The app said the coupon was successfully applied when I placed the order. I realize these apps don't always work like they're supposed to. However, he could have found a manager to approve the coupon. But he couldn't have cared less. After 4 minutes of dealing with this, I finally gave up and left. He didn't even give me the receipt with the survey code on it. Because he knew he f***d up, and he didn't want me to give him a negative review! I will never visit this Del Taco location again. Del Taco I am not sure where to start. It was just an amazingly poor experience at this Del Taco. When we entered the store we noticed there was perhaps one table occupied. The order taker just stared at us, no greeting. He just stood there in his gray hoodie pulled up over his head. (All the other employees had on uniforms.) So I said "hello how are you?" He mumbled something. Really? Is this how Del Taco wants to create a first impression? We placed our order and were not given a receipt so we did not know our order number. I tried to get it from him but he grabbed some food and ran around the corner to eat. When number 77 was called we didn't know if that was ours or not. There is a large container marked "sweet tea" so my wife ordered that. After she poured it in her cup and tasted it it didn't taste right. She asked to confirm this was sweet tea and Mr. Personality stated they didn't carry sweet tea. (See my picture of the container.) My wife then asked for pink sugar (Sweet n Low). He gave her a white sugar packet. She gave it back and said pink sugar. He said how about yellow? She said forget it and used a spare packet from her purse. The person who gave us our food was friendly and the rest of staff appeared to be so too. It was just the order taker has absolutely no personality and I absolutely have no clue why he is there except to try to earn a paycheck. Perhaps "earn" is not the right word? Our food tasted fine. When my wife went to get a drink refill a homeless person walked in and nosed her out of the way to get a free drink and walk out. None of the employees said anything. Let me start by saying I am a HUGE fan of Del Taco and have been for years. I have been coming to this location for at least a year. I usually only go during the day since I work nearby. The food here is almost always good. There are the standard issues with consistency in preparation, but it is usually fresh and hot. Now to the staff.... I don't know why, but the two males and one female that work the counter and drive thru are always on edge, up tight, and rude. Very short and almost confrontational. Don't you dare ask for some more hot sauce or anything made special. It will result in quite a huffy response. They never smile, rarely say thank you or you're welcome. Just seem really pissed off to be there at all. If this review were based solely on the food, it would have been 5 stars.... So if you don't mind some attitude, you can get some great and hot Del Taco food at this location. read more

Why zero stars is not a viable option is beyond me, because this Del Taco has earned exactly that. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I used to eat at this restaurant frequently, loved the value, and for the price the food was pretty good. Service was typically a bit bad, but they lowered my expectations at this location long ago. However, even for me the end of the line was after seeing a group of small live ROACHES poking out from the drain at the soda fountain. YES LIVE ROACHES. Never seen this before in a restaurant, ever. Left immediately and will not be back. A quick check of the Maricopa County health site revealed they have had 4 consecutive checks, all with LIVE GERMAN ROACHES all over the cooking side of this place and the soda fountain.
