The burgers are nowhere near as good as In and Out, and eating here costs about twice as much. The fries, at least the ones we had, were horrible - totally burnt. This place really does not live up to the hype! I ordered a standard bacon cheeseburger with BBQ sauce. I got my food to go, got home, found that what I was given was a small bacon burger, no cheese and only one patty. I also got fries, which were not impressive at all. I am a serious lover of Five Guys Burgers. The service is excellent and the food is awesome as well. Their new soda machines are cool as well with so many choices. Unfortunately, there do not seem to be as consistent as their other restaurants. The burger was a bit overcooked and the bacon a bit burned. Usually I love Five Guys, but this was the worse experience in a restaurant I've ever had. After ordering and paying I notice the place was a mess, peanuts all over the floor, spills all around the soda machines! Aside from the messy floors and sticky tables, I had to wait exactly 1 hour and 2 minutes for a simple 2 sandwich order. When I asked one of the employees what was happening with my order all he said was "There is nothing I can do about it." And gave me a half smile. So finally when I got my order my appetite was gone due to the frustration, and on top of that the order was not correct at this point I didn't even bother to go complain. I have been to this location a few times all of which were just the normal ehh it was okay. This last visit on the 7th of February, I was extremely disappointed. I in to the store around 8 pm the place was dead, the workers had their friends just hanging around. The front counter girl was nice got the order right. I placed my order then went to yogurt land but turns out they were closed, so I went back to five guys and decided to order a milkshake which the girl immediately went to make, so it seemed but the milkshake took longer to make and I was the only person that ordered any food. I received my food and drink and went home. Sadly when I got home my order was missing half of the toppings that I ordered, which I cannot place my head around since it prints out as a list for the cooks to follow. This is the second time that this had happened, the other time I called in the order and I thought okay maybe he didn't hear me on the phone right, but again the order was right on the ticket. I should of stopped and opened up my food right when I received it to double check if it was right but really who wants to go through the trouble? read more

The burgers are excellent. The staff is very friendly. The staff works constantly to keep things clean and neat. When the staff isn't cleaning the dining area, they are cleaning the cooking and preparation areas. We've been to this location 3 times, a week apart each time. The staff has remembered us from the prior visits and very cheerfully greets us. As the staff cleans up the dining area, which can get pretty messy what with all the kids that are there and the shells from the peanuts being consumed, the staff will stop by you table and ask if there is anything they can get for you. The staff is always in motion - taking orders, cooking and preparing the orders, cleaning the dining room or cleaning the food preparation area. All of this encourages my friends and I to return again. read more

I know why I don't come here now. I ordered my food online. Came in and the food was ready with just fries to add. Ehen the young man gave me the bag, I asked if it was all there. Yes. Left , drove home opened the bag and 1 order of fries missing. I called. The girl said I could come back and pick them up. I said I wanted a refund for the order. The manager came in the line and gave me the procedure for refunds, and no apologies. I drove back to pick up my fries instead. I said I just wanted my fries. With no apologies she told them to give me my fries and then turned her back on me. The othee young lady apologized, but the manager apparently has NO managerial skills and whike my hamburger is cold at home, and a gallon of gas wasted, I have fries. The hamburgers were actually good and the fries were ok, nothing special but the large size was plentiful. We (3 of us, adults) visited here on Friday evening 9-30-16 on the way to see "Sully" and the place was not that busy. The inside was very cold and uncomfortable. We all ate in our coats and I had to go back to the car and get them. The tables were sticky and I had to wet a napkin to get it clean. The floor was a mess and not just peanuts. The drink stand was so filthy I did not fill my drink cup even after paying for a small coke. It was just gross. Cashier was efficient and by no means rude, just completely indifferent. No eye contact, no thank you for your order, no smile....just a robot. I may try another location because I liked the food but this place was just very uncomfortable for me due to grime, lack of friendliness and cold temperature. Seating was uncomfortable but that was the style, these place only want you there long enough to eat. read more

Stopped by last night at 9:30pm to a dirty restaurant with extremely impersonal employees. Three employees stood behind the counter and stared at my wife and me as we entered; two of them turned and walked away, and the third one just stood there waiting for me to give him my order. I had to break the silence by asking him how his night was going - very odd that I had to take that first step to initiate conversation. On a very positive note, I have to say that my burger was great! While we ate our food I noticed that the three "personality-free" employees did very little work behind the counter, and none of them came out into the dining area to clean the tables or the floor, which I might add were filthy. Finally, one of the employees locked the front door 10 minutes before they closed, and I watched at least three potential customers try the handle and then turn to walk away; I was able to re-direct two of the customers to the side door much to the vexation of the Five Guys employees. I write this review in the hopes of helping the owners find reliable and trustworthy employees. read more

The fries were good but the burger was just OK. We came here because Chipotle next door was closed next door. We were looking for a quick bite after being on the road for 7 hours and figured this joint was probably the only other place open on New Years Day. My husband got the double patty bacon burger and I got the single patty cheeseburger. For a burger, it tasted pretty lean but there really was no flavor or special sauce.... I got a side of BBQ sauce, spicy sauce, and A1sauce for us but none really helped the burger... It was a pretty boring bland burger. Loved the fries however... Great seasoning. I've been to this location a few dozen times since they opened up. The food has always been fresh and my order correct. Staff is always friendly and helpful, even when -I- get my own order wrong! This continues to be my #1 favorite place to get a big, juicy, delicious burger. Not sure what some of the other comments on here are about "no flavor", as I have no issues with this. Maybe folks need to take a break from overly salted drive-thru nastiness and readjust their taste buds (and their blood pressure). ;) read more

OK, when I first went to a Five Guys in San Jose, I thought it was above average but pretty expensive for what it was. After visiting the new Five Guys in Morgan Hill a couple of times, though, I have to admit to having become a big fan. First, the cashier and everyone else there are extremely friendly and helpful without rushing you to decide. Next, the prices are a little high, but if you opt for the extras like lettuce, tomato, peppers, mushrooms, etc, it turns out to be very fair. For the kids that only wanted a ketchup on their bacon cheese burgers, not so much. Then, the soda juke box was amazing, worth twice the price of a regular drink. Want to see what an orange vanilla diet caffeine-free Coke tastes like? You got it. One order of large fries was enough for the whole family, about a third of a bag and highly addictive. The burger was great, and peanuts to boot. Just great. One star off (more like 1/2 star) for the still kind-of-high prices and over supply of fries, which killed my diet. read more

Patties are not fresh what so ever your meat is grey it sits in a box in a cooler and reused the next day as well The strawberries for the shakes you love have mold on top of mold I have found countless spiders sitting on bananas and the banana peels are blacker then the parking lot tar! People leave there nasty gloves filled with sweat in the water the potatoes soak in. the overall quality of the restaurant is personal preference some people love a mess some people don't not to mention the attitude of the employees here's who not to talk to dayshia, Desiree. the people you can count on are Andrew Jacob julissa and Wilfredo that's just to name a few tho. The owners do not support there employees in anyway so don't expect a smile all the time just a blank state of desperation for you to hurry up and order and leave there sight. Burgers I have made customers have been ehh not really my fault but with the demanding orders lack of training and no support constant yelling stress and lack of common sense from the rest of the staff who can blame me right..this place has failed in every aspect to deliver a nice quality honest meal to families and there children. Very loud place, even the employees are loud. They shout out your order instead of using a PA system. This is very annoying especially if you are standing nearby. The music is way too loud. They have free peanuts.... I don't get it. Nothing special, just free peanuts. I ordered the Regular with everything except the mushrooms (I like mushrooms, I just didn't order them). The regular is a two patty burger and you get to choose from a number of toppings. The burger is tall but not wide making it difficult to eat. It's a good burger, not great. The fries were good and they give you "extra" fries which they throw into the bag. The other fries they put into a small paper cup. I don't think that the amount was anything special, I guess they try to make it seem by using a cup and throwing the rest of the fries loosely into the bag. A regular burger, fries and soda was pushing $10. They do have smaller versions of the burger which, if I ever go back, is what I would order. Don't get caught up in the hype, it's just okay. Bring some earplugs. read more

I am a huge Five Guys fan and love there burgers and fries and would normally give 5 stars, but this location needs a serious intervention. Came in on a Saturday at 7pm. Only 2-3 people eating, nobody in line and the employees were all standing around talking while the restaurant was a mess. Every table was dirty, the floor and condiment area a mess. Had to tell them that there were no clean tAbles and then Watch some disgruntled teenage employee 1/2 wipe them down spilling more crumbs and debris all over the chairs and floor with the same rag used on all the other counters. First AND last time I come here. I was sitting there waiting for my food(that took forever to get and was sitting on the counter for 5 min done before I even got it) when I saw a young girl come out from the back putting food into her mouth and then went to the register and started ringing someone up and then continues to go to the side counter and started making the food ALL WHILE wearing the same gloves the entire time!! I went up and told her what I saw and the guy who seemed to be the manager thanked me and asked her to wash her hands and change her gloves. All I have to say is your employees lead by example if she was doing that then they all are doing it. There are health regulations for a reason and I'm not trying to get sick! read more

So unproductive and unprofessional as well I recently worked here and eaten here ..let me tell you no training what's so ever for the new employees they make us go on the floor and learn our selfs everybody is rude to each other and take personal issues to work which interfere with the work and customer service this place is ran like we were all in high school having fun not doing a thing in class lol ...quality control is horrible place is crawling with spiders and bugs eww ...this establishment consists on being disrespectful to its employees and customers the new people working here always try there best and to stray away from all the negativity but end up falling victim to a place that turns them into people there own family wouldn't recognize...the managers have no idea what there doing neither do most employees so customers get frustrated and the attitude provided from the servers is so uncalled for ..this place would be so much better if they fired half the crew and recruited people who would feel blessed to have a job that pays even if it's only 11 an hour with no benefits...in conclusion don't eat here unless you like being made fun of behind your back and you lack sympathy for all human beings and want slow orders and your online orders ignored read more

Its one of those deals I dont give any restaurant 5 stars. This is a first for me it was warm and inviting. Felt like a college cafeteria and a group of happy people to have jobs. Great food and lots of it if you like a burger joint. Hotdogs looked incredible but since I went once I will have to wait to try the dog. Stopped in around 5:30pm on a Thursday. Filthy bathrooms, dirty floors and tables, staff looked dirty and unkempt as if they hadn't washed their uniforms in over a week; hamburger slapped together carelessly (and it wasn't busy), hamburger not hot, slightly pink in the middle, fries very soggy. Extremely disappointing. The one in Pleasant Hill is so much better on every level. It appeared that a manager hasn't been around for quite awhile to supervise the young people working there and standards had fallen pretty low. I just hope and pray I don't get food poisoning...shouldn't have eaten that sloppy, lukewarm burger--and after experiencing how dirty it was, too, I just feel gross now! Yuck! Five Guys has the best burgers ever but will not ever go there to eat again ! The problem is how loud the music is , to make sure it was just not me I asked 8 others not in my party and all said the same thing. The music was so loud it ruined the experience. I asked to talk to the manager and told him the problem but he didn't seem to care, he just shrugged his shoulders. So if you are looking for take out and not driving to far because the burgers get to soggy if you don't eat them in 10 minutes after they are served this is the place to go. Their Burgers and fries are good I have no problem there. But when it comes to customer service for the morgan hill five guys HORRIBLE! It happened today where I did an online order when I went to pick it up the four employees were cleaning up they did post a note to the door saying that they were out of burgers. I wanted to talk to one of them because I did an online order and if they could refund me. I stood there for 10 minutes with all four employees trying to avoid looking at me. I knocked again and one of them I heard ask the other what to do and I heard one of the males working behind the counter say to the other "just rtell her to go the Fuck home.". Finally one opens the door tells me that they are out of burgers and I ask how I get my refund because this is not the only time this five guys in morgan hill has messed up with my order and the disrespect I receive from their employees. She said I had to come back tomorrow with the receipt because the manager is not there. I am upset that out of the four employees that were there, NONE of them knew how to make a refund. Why would the manager leave them by themselves with the control of the store if they were not trained for everything! Right after called customer service told them of the situation and STILL DID NOT get my refund I have to wait till tomorrow because a 24 hour customer service cannot even give a refund. When ordering online why doesn't Five Guys take down a location to notify people ordering online saying that location doesn't have any more burgers instead of wasting my time driving down there to receive poor customer service and have them steal my money? Great food but I got hurt here. Not impressed. I went there with my friend and our 2.5 year old daughters. Went outside to eat. Ate and everything was fine until our daughters moved to a different area so we moved too so we could see them better. As I went to sit down, the red bench broke off the table and I fell hard on my butt. The bench was swinging around. I went inside and talked to the young people working there. They told me that something similar happened a customer about 2 hours ago where she fell and dropped her food. Then WHY isn't there a sign or caution tape? What if my little one had sat there and fallen and hit her head? They offered to make it better by giving me a milkshake. My back hurts. No manager. The owner did call me the next day and offered to send me a gift card which is nice but the fact that the store employees didn't have a sign up immediately after the first instance of the day is appalling. read more

First let me start by saying we love five guys . Went in tonight about 7:30 and I think the crew was all in training with no supervision. We were third in line with a lot of people who had already ordered waiting for their food. There was an employee (sorry no name tags) kind of a chubby guy who announces that there would be a 15 minute wait cuz they were backed up. He tells everyone that we might not what to wait ....what the f***?!? So we order anyway and sit down. Then he says to other customers coming in that it was going to be 25 minutes and that chipotle was open!! As someone who works in food service we were shocked. After about 10 minutes or so another employee comes on shift (big guy light hair) Wow he should be collecting everyone's pay check!! He got everything done and everyone out in about 10 minutes. Management needs to give that guy a raise !! And retrain the other 4 employees who were just lost. Food was good and big guy even offered us more fries. Great job dude!! read more

While the food was good the service was terrible. The cashier, Selena L had zero personality. Didn't show any signs of emotion at all. No thank you when taking the order. She also ordered the wrong item. I was clear in saying a Little Cheeseburger and she ordered the regular cheeseburger. I didn't check the receipt, assuming she could do her job but was surprised to see something other than what I wanted when I opened the wrapper. There were several tables that hadn't been cleaned and had peanut shells on them. No lids for the regular size drink cups in the dispenser. The A/C was set at sub arctic level on a 75 degree day. All of this with approx 6 customers in the place so being busy shouldn't be an excuse. I'm generally a fan of this place but this was beyond disappointing to me. The upside was the food was good and there were outdoor tables in the sun to eat at so I didn't get frostbite inside. I may not be back for awhile. read more
