I must admit that Five Guys from the Long Island area was ok. Out of 2 other burger joints Five guys was my 3rd favorite. Smash burger being number 1 and Shake Shack a close 2nd. Now fast forward to now this 5 Guys up in Middletown is really my go to place. I'm not sure if it's the lack of better burger joints in the area but I really do enjoy how they cook and keep up the company's standards unlike some of the other fast food spots up here. The burgers and Cajun fries are unbelievably good! The shakes are delicious and made fresh. The cooks are usually very nice. I enjoy having some free peanuts as well. The truth is this place is an extremely overpriced fast food chain. If you're willing to spend $20 on a burger and small fries, this is your place. read more

My 7 year old son begged me to take him here. He ended up hating his burger. Bread fell apart as it was stale and the meat was disgusting and dry. I could have made a better burger at home. The fries are nothing special. It's not very clean, tables were dirty! Never going back! read more

Just went to the new Five Guys here in town. My sister and I have been to two others before, so we basically new what to expect when we walked in. We ordered the "mini" bacon cheeseburgers (the ones with one patty - yeah that's called a mini!) and they were great! Service was friendly and efficient which was great because it was quite a madhouse, it was also being kept very clean. The best part was that they have the Coke soda machines where you can craft your own flavors of pretty much all the major brands, and it was free refills! I had lime Fanta, Pibb extra, fruit punch lemonade and raspberry sprite, all of which were diet. It was a lot of fun, just mixing the sodas! Fries are not my favorite they're thick cut, fresh and sink your teeth into fries, not crispy. Good but I prefer more crispy fries. Prices are pretty much comparable to other fast food places. Bought two bacon cheeseburgers, one large fries and two regular sodas for a little over $20. read more

Meh. After going a couple times, the burgers aren't THAT amazing, and although they give you a ton of fries, who wants that many? The one in Middletown NY is ok. In my opinion it's kinda expensive. Loses it's charm fast as it's just a small step up from McDonalds. read more

The little hamburgers served all the way are a good value albeit greasy. Fries are super greasy, we dont order them anymore. The cherry coke is amazing from the soda mixer. Burger fills you up, dont really need fries anyway. Its a guilty pleasure we enjoy once every few months. read more

I have gone to 5 Guys many times for my kids, Today I went and placed a large order my ORDER ID#s AABDDHK2AECU &AADDHK2ACDN I spent $80.00 dollars that should be considered a good customer the attendant WILLIAM H is the nastiest and poorest representation toy our business! I placed my order and aid please add 1 order of fries with each item. When I got my order he only did 1 fry, I went back and asked him I ordered a fry with each meal he looked at me in such a condescending fashion and said "you didnt tell me how many" I said yes I did I wanted a fry with each order he then says" you have to give me a number " I said why didnt you say that in the fist place he rolls his eyes and in a nasty tone says how many you want so I have to now also do his jib!! listen I am 50 years old and run my own business and I am telling you fire this disrespectful , self entitled child that does not know how to respect paying customers !!!! This location of Five Guys is just ok. They are too expensive in my opinion for the quality of their food. I have been here two times, and the fries were way too greasy both times. I wasn't thrilled with the burger I got on my first visit, the bottom bun was soaked in grease. Although the second time I went I tried a hot dog and it was surprisingly tasty. The burgers are ridiculous. I normally go with the bacon cheeseburger with a1 and ketchup and it is amazing. The fries are hit and miss unfortunately. Yeah they give you enough fries to the point you'll have to Tupperware some but if they aren't good fries then what's the point. The price is a little much but now that they added milkshakes that you can add bacon to, the grease kinda makes you blind to the price. read more

Went here last week before a doctor appointment. It had been over a year since a Five Guys visit. Used to go all the time when I lived closer to Nanuet, NY. The only other one I have been to is Dickson City, PA and that one is tiny. This one had a nice huge layout. The guy at the counter mixed up samples of Oreo shake for us to try, it was good so we ordered one and shared it. The food was very consistent to the other locations. Big, messy and greasy. The peanuts are always appreciated and I would have had more but I felt too full. Used the ladies room and it was clean. read more

I had a strawberry shake and it was awesome and the guy who made it (kinda emo looking with feather tattoos) was nice and he was always busy cleaning the place constantly so that made me feel secure about the cleanliness. A little too pricey. Burger is meaty, a little on the greasy side - but I like the variety of toppings, the coca-cola machine is a good novelty (I can mix cherry and vanilla coke - yay!!!). The fries are very tasty, awesome and plentiful - just be careful if you have a peanut allergy - as I think they are fried in peanut oil. Went in for a burger. Watched an employee dragging a trash can across the floor in the food prep area. Then she proceeded to open a bag of buns and remove several of them. Followed by here adding toppings etc. I brought this to the managers attention. He made her put on new gloves and throw away one of the buns with topping. One of the best Burgers I have ever had. Get the double cheese burger. (Made fresh) Several selections of toppings and homemade sliced french fries. Solid spot. Good order/cashier effort. Cook time was a bit long for a slow night, but food was well prepared. Dining room was clean and bright, bathrooms were clean. Coke stylemaster machines were well stocked, but the "prep" counter for drinks and condiments was very undersized and had room for only a single person without reaching around them for your needs. read more

Finally, Five Guys comes to the Hudson Valley. Easily the best burger in Middletown, they're always fresh and delicious. Note that a Little burger is one patty and a regular is two, and a regular fries is good for two people, a large could feed a small army. Delicious, affordable and always a sure thing, but not for the health conscious. They could use one more soda machine though, at busy times you'll be waiting on line to get a drink. Great variety of soda flavors though. You can't go wrong with Five guys. The do need to add a dessert though or shakes, big time. That's all that keeps it from being 5 stars.
