Haven't had Five guys in a long time! First off, I've forgotten how pricy each burger is especially if you decide to get a double. We got two double bacon cheeseburgers with whatever additions we wanted like grilled onions and mushrooms, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. and a regular fries. Their burgers were juicy and flavorful. Made fresh to order and the fries were good, but just super greasy, since the bag was covered with it. And with 2 drinks, it came out to around $38. So yah, delicious, but greasy food, and also pretty pricy. Overall, it's still a good burger place. And the guy at the register was also very helpful and nice, so the service was good too. read more

The food was terrible and the customer service was even worse. About six months ago, my fiancé and I ordered food at this location, and while we waited for the burgers to cook, one of the cooks kept yelling out an order number repeatedly and then started hysterically laughing. It was repetitive and nonsensical. Even one of the other cooks had to tell him to knock it off. It was obvious this guy was high on drugs. We ordered takeout, they got my fiancé's burger completely wrong and unfortunately, we did not double check it before we left the restaurant. We got home and realized they had left every single topping off of my fiancé's burger. It was literally just meat and cheese, and he had ordered lettuce, tomato, pickle, ketchup, and mayo. I decided to call first before bringing it back and the actual cook got on the phone to argue with me and told me he put all the toppings on it. He basically called me a liar. I was so livid I called corporate and they did absolutely nothing, but took my email address and never followed up. I've been going to "Five Guys" for years all over the country, and I will now never return to any location in the USA. It was my last $40 fast food meal from Five Guys. It was a waste of money because not only was it disgusting, but it lacked any semblance of class and tact you'd expect from a restaurant in an upper middle class neighborhood - fast food or not! This concerns the pipeline store. Generally we have always liked their burgers, but the Pipeline rd store is so difficult to park a truck, so we have it delivered. And that is the issue the last three order have not been what we asked for, it is always messed up. If you order mayo or mustard they are drowned in it. I have been to this location several times and i have never been disappointed by the food or the service i get at this location. During this specific visit me and my sister were greeted as soon as we walked through the door. The guy working the counter was friendly and helpful in answering our questions and even making suggestions on the toppings. Our order was made to order and came out hot and fresh! The cajun fries are amazing!! Me and my sister got the large and we had some left over after we both had our fill. Our burgers were tasty, juicy and hot! That particular day we went was not busy at all but the employees did not just stand there and do nothing! The employees were cleaning, restocking the straws, sweeping the lobby and whipping down tables. When i told them they were out of ketchup they refilled it within 10 minutes of me telling them. I was really impressed by how quick they refilled it because other restaurants i been to and told them the ketchup was out took them at least 40 minutes to refill! by that time i am done with my meal. I I really love the attention to detail these employees put into their work at this restaurant. yes they may cost more then the average fast food burger place but with burgers this juicy and tasty it is worth getting out of the car and waiting for it. I need to update and downgrade Five Guys back to 3 stars. I have been here a few times since my last review and I have had nothing but trouble. They keep making my hamburger incorrectly. They leave items off or they put items on that I do not want. What is bad they are not busy so there is no excuse to make my burger wrong? One time I had to send the burger back three. Because they gave me such a wet soggy bun it was gross. And they kept making it wrong. Easy to make no catsup, no tomatoes, add mushrooms, and jalapenos. The last time we went to Five Guys the music was so loud we ask them to turn it down. The manager said they have to play the music loud. We thought that was strange so we walked out. And they had around 7 employees at lunch time on Saturday and not a person in the place eating. Now don't get me wrong I like Five Guys they are good burgers. But they are having some trouble and need to work this out. And maybe lower the prices a bit maybe this would increase their business. read more

(Incorrect toppings, not what we ordered) But oops, they forgot the shake! So it's made for us, super quick, sloppy, and not very thick. To top it all off, we are left not feeling well. So five guys ... the staff is usually very on top of things when I'm there. It's a good go to place when you want something better than Burger King or McDonald's basic $1 or $2 burger ... but don't really want the wait of the sit down burger joints/chains. Not probably top in the burger chains but good for an in area quick stop. Food wise I we usually split fries but on occasion they are over salty. Sometimes we get way more than expected but others it's about what we thought. Biggest complaint burger wise is they go heavy on the condiments, even when you say "easy ketchup/mustard/etc" which usually results in stuff on your shirt or topping sliding out in a ketchup avalanche. I'm prepared for when it happens now but it took a visit or two to learn my lesson. read more

I just wanted to try this supposedly iconic burger. I don't know about other locations; but the Arlington location made me want to leave when I first entered. The place was dirty, it did not smell nice, the workers were dirty. Against all my instincts I stayed and ordered a bacon cheeseburger. It was just a routine burger. The bun was soggy, the taste was common. The bill for this was atrocious. If you are in this neighborhood, go to the Burger Street restaurant on Cooper. I frequently get take-out here, and have found it to be super inconsistent. The burgers are mostly made correctly, but they've gotten it wrong enough times to take note. The main issue is with the fries. I always get cajun, and they're either over-seasoned or under-seasoned. The portion size is the worst of all. I get a noticeably different amount EVERY time. It makes it hard to decide which size to get, as sometimes I don't have enough, and other times I end up throwing some away. Other than that the food is generally fresh and tasty. Wow. It's a burger place. In Texas! Because, obviously there is a need for a chain restaurant to come into strip malls serving hamburgers. Because we don't have any of those already, right? I've heard this chain compared to In-And-Out favorably. I can't say I get it. I mean, it's similar in that the menu is very limited. And your orders are cooked fresh. And the burger itself is even comparable. But the fries are mediocre (at best) and the service is slow. Not slow by restaurant standards--you're definitely served in under 10 minutes from placing your order. But this is basically fast food. The set up is sort of like a Waffle House, with one guy slaving over a flattop. Due to the lack of a Drive-Thru and the not-so-quick turnaround time, it can't compare to In-And-Out. So, that leaves it just like every mom & pop place you can find in half the suburban strip malls in north Texas--except they're serving an inferior product. Sure, you get all the toppings you want for free (except cheese and bacon--those cost), but the beef patty itself is served well done and it's basically the same quality as Whataburger or Sonic or any other fast food chain. (Except, again, it's not all that fast--and a burger/fries/drink will cost you $10). I don't have any real complaints about the food. It is what it is. But all things considered, in Tarrant County I'd much rather hit up a Chapps for a superior product with similar service for a few bucks cheaper. read more

Mmmm. Five Guys. This is the kind of burger place that is awesome for what you get WITH your burger. (The meat itself is... ok.) But, grilled onions and mushrooms! For no extra charge?! And enough of them that you end up with a small "dessert salad" after the burger is done??!! Are you kidding me???!!! Heck yes, I'll give you four stars! The fries are very very tasty. The "cajun" treatment can be a little much, but it is good. Also, be warned: you get WAY too many fries. If you're tired of ridiculous serving sizes, ask for "no topper". You would think for the price their hamburgers would have had better flavor. Lettuce, tomato,and bacon were all fresh , but the meat had no flavor. Ordered medium French fries and they had been thrown in the bag , with about half spilled out of the container. They were OK ,but nothing special. This was our first trip to this establishment and it will be our last. The price of hamburger,fries, and drinks cost was outrageous. I had a pretty good experience here. The burger was really good. Very juicy and seasoned well. I love that they give you so many fries here. I ordered a little size fry and there was so much in the bag, it was over flowing out of the cup. I wouldn't order a bigger size because it would probably be a waste of money unless you can eat a ton. I do wish the fries had more seasoning on them because I don't like ketchup. Parking was really hard. This is a very busy area and there are lots of other stores around so it's hard to find parking. We had to park far away and walk so that would be my only complaint. The staff was friendly and patient while I tried to figure out what I wanted. The food came out in about 7 minutes so there wasn't a long wait. Food is excellent. A bit pricey. More expensive than restaurant chain burger joint. 2 times ordered in app. 1st time, after 10 minutes of driving, got there and order hadn't even started. Tonight, ordered from app again. Waited 10 minutes to leave. Order said it would be ready in 7 minutes (9:15pm). I got there at 9:25 and order wasn't ready. Young man standing there talking to cook. A few minutes later, young man went to back room door and stood there talking to a girl for several minutes. Then he went in back room and stayed there for 10 minutes. I am still waiting for my order. I look behind counter and all 3 workers are in back room. Behind counter is empty for a few minutes. Cook comes back and a few minutes later, I FINALLY got my order which was about 20 minutes late. After I ate, went to throw trash away. Girl was sweeping floor right next to me. Saw me struggling to get trash door to open. She just kept on sweeping. I refilled my drink and walked right past her as I left. She said nothing! No goodbye. No thank you or have a good evening. The outrage of sitting there waiting while they were h it up in back room. All 4 of them. Not sure if young man was looking for job or what. All I know is my order took 30 minutes to prepare and the customer service was horrible! So the manager emails me and left a voice mail. Offered me a free meal for my troubles. That was nice. I returned her call. That was at least 2 weeks ago. I never had my call returned and I never received a coupon for that free meal . Keeps getting worse. They have lost me as a customer. Second time to enjoy a large, juicy burger with tons of toppings at one of these places. And I love the peanuts. But come on guys, I'm already eating there. I don't need to be persuaded. They fill nearly every inch of space in the dining room and the rest rooms with testimonials and quotes. Got a huge ego, 5 guys? I'd say so. Probably a small penis, too. But we're here for burgers aren't we? AREN'T WE?! And who are the 5 guys? Instead of filling your ego, maybe some info on the name-sake? Plenty of fries to share with another. Finally Hurst gets a burger joint outside of the fastfood realm. Five Guys is quickly spreading across DFW like wildfire! I first tried FG 2 years ago in Washington DC and loved it. The fresh cut fries, the cooked to order juicy burgers...I mean, yum. I was happy when they first landed in Southlake....but the last two times I wasn't THAT happy after having the burger at Dixie House and Hunky's. FG has two good sized patties on a SMALL bun.....you better eat this thing fast or you end up with a mess on your hands....so, had to deduct one star for this...I only got through half my burger and had to throw the rest away because it was a sloppy, soggy mess. Soggy buns are no good. So the first few bites are greatness...and then as you eat your fries, the burger goes down the tubes. read more

So everyone I know is like "OMG....5 guys has the best burgers!!" So after one of my favorites places to eat in Hurst abandoned ship (Double Dave's Pizza), 5 guys took it over. I actually got kind of excited as this place is right across the street from my house. Went there on opening day during the Ice Storm in February. Got an enthusiastic "2 at the Door" yell from the crew. Wife and I ordered a burger and cajun fries. They give us the order in a paper bag, burgers on the bottom, fry cup on top and the rest of the bag was filled with fries that the cup wouldn't hold. SO basically, to get our burgers out---we had to dig through a wall of greasy fries. The Fries were so overseasoned with cajun powder, I almost felt my throat lock up. The burgers were average at best. The thing is...these things are barely bigger than white castle burgers...they run over $6 and they taste worse than what you can get at McDonalds or Burger King. 2 burgers, 2 fries, 2 Cokes....$25. If I am going to overpay for a mediocre at best meal....at least give me a friggin tray to put my food on....instead of a ghetto paper bag. However....with all the buzz this place has and all the accolades the press has given them all over their walls....we did try visit #2 a couple weeks later. This time...there was no "2 at the Door" for us....nor anyone else that came in. Guess that was a one day only greeting! Wife tried the burger again and I tried a hot dog. Wife ate one bite of the burger and threw it away. I ate 2 bites of the hot dog and was done. It was by far the nasties Hot Dog I have ever eaten. They cut the weiner in half, throw a cold piece of Velveeta sliced cheese on it...and then add the toppings. Gross. The temperature of the hot dog was lukewarm at best so it tasted almost raw. Same problem as well with fries...paperbag with loose fries covering our burger and dog. They have to fix that....that is just stupid. Whoever thought the customers would actually like digging through a paper bag through a mass of fries to pull out their food should be fired. We got the normal fries this go around and they were limp, soggy and tasteless. The only thing I can think after two visits.....is that this restaurant just isn't doing it the way the other 5 guys restaurants do it.....or people just have low standards when it comes to a good burger and fries. If you want a HOT DOG that is 10x better and 1/3 of the price....get one at Quik Trip. If you want a Burger that is worlds above and beyond....go to Christie's Extreme Burgers in North Richland Hills. Or grab a Zeus Burger at Cafe Medi. Or McDonalds. Or Burger King. Or Whataburger. Or out of a dumpster. This place is overrated, pricey and I hope it goes out of business. What a scam. Went here to finally try this famous place that everyone raves about. Overall, they have good food. Huge burgers that, to me, are similar to Braums. Real meat, cheese, just basic and good. The burgers are huge, so if you want a normal sized burger get the junior burger. The fries are HUUUGE! Like a fast food bag full of them... would feed at least three adults on the side of their big 'ol burgers. However, even though they are made right there, with the farm from which the potatoes came written on a markerboard by the cashier, they fell short for me. They tasted like the potatoes had not been thoroughly washed, and lacked flavor to me. The place had very loud music blaring on a not-so-busy weeknight, but what really got me was the price. 27 dollars for two cheeseburgers, two small fries, and two regular drinks. You can reduce that by a couple dollars since you only really need one fry. To me, this place with average food and average service and a high price tag does not hold up with the other burger places I can eat at. I understand that some people find this nostalgic, which I can understand, but when I can think of 30 different burger joints around town with little effort, you have to be totally outstanding. I am shocked that people are rating these burgers so low. Stop hating on Five Guys!!! These burgers are as near to perfect as I have found and the fries are shipped to stores fresh. I honestly cannot think of a bad thing to say about the place other than they keep the dining area colder than a freezer. It is shocking to walk in from the Texas heat only to be met with a building that is colder than the north pole.
