Needed lunch and thought about North High Street, but was not already mentally preparing to fight for parking like it's a Black Friday sale in 2003. Audible called. Swung into Grove City instead. Smart move. Possibly my best decision since I stopped trusting gas station hotdogs. After some extensive research (opened Yelp Columbus judged harshly, moved on), I had three requirements: 1. Not a cookie-cutter chain 2. Somewhere new 3. A menu that wouldn't trigger "I don't see anything I like" syndrome Enter: Broadway Plates & Pints 4008 Broadway, Grove City Grove City is that sweet spot... close enough to Columbus to feel alive, but still has that "people wave at you for no reason" energy. Parked on the street like a rookie, only to later discover there's parking behind everything. If you can't find a spot, just check the rear. Yes, I said it. Walked in, grabbed a seat. Smaller place, but in a good way. Elevated tables, bar seating, normal tables for us normal-ish folks. Big windows for prime people-watching. My dimpled sidekick even got a wave from a random passerby. #Friendly #ShesGotFans Then... plot twist... Cleveland Ketchup Company Ketchup sitting on the table. Didn't even know ketchup could have a hometown. #OH.. All-natural, Ohio-made, no junk. And yeah... it's actually really good. The Bald Bunch supports local, even if it's tomatoes living their best life. Check Cleveland Ketchup Company out. They have plenty of locally sourced condiment options. #supportlocal Server Emma B rolls up, keeps it simple. Water and a Michelob ULTRA for me. Because hydration matters... and so does survival. We were starving, so appetizer time: Fried Mozzarella Triangles Hot, crispy, did the job. Not life-changing, not disappointing. The Toyota Camry of appetizers. Reliable. Gets you where you need to go. Now the menu... solid lineup. Burgers, wings, calzones, sandwiches, enough options to make commitment issues flare up. I was bouncing between a calzone, Italian sub, or burger... Then I saw it... THE KRAKEN And listen... you don't order The Kraken. You summon it. This thing shows up like it just crawled out of the Atlantic looking for revenge: * THREE patties (because one or two is for amateurs) * Bacon * American cheese * Caramelized onions * Onion ring * Steak aioli * Brioche bun * AND a honey butter pretzel sitting on top like a crown Just in case was not already enough calories. This wasn't lunch. This was a full-contact event. Immediately ate the onion ring and honey butter pretzel solo like a savage. Then went to work. Multiple napkins required. Not first-date safe. Not job interview safe. Possibly not OSHA approved. But man... it was GOOD. Patties cooked right. Bacon had that perfect bite. Aioli and onions brought it all together like a greasy symphony. Left full... borderline questioning life choices... but zero regrets. Fries? Solid. Pretzel Topper? Sneaky good. Honestly might go back just for those. Service? Emma B crushed it. Drinks stayed filled, no disappearing act, no "I'll be right back" and then vanishing into another dimension. Now... let's talk price. $54.25 for lunch. Look... I get it. Everything costs more now. But I'm still gonna complain about it like it's my full-time job. Either prices come down or someone needs to give me a raise. Preferably both. And one more thing... Beer was cold. BUT NOT IN A FROSTED MUG. Unacceptable. Somewhere, Congress is wasting time when they could be solving real issues like this. Draft beer should never warm up mid-drink. That's just science. Final Rating: ‍‍‍‍ - 4 out of 5 Bald Heads Pros: * Parking (once you stop ignoring the back lot like I did) * Great people-watching windows * Filling, legit good food * Friendly, attentive staff Cons: * No frosted mugs (we can fix this, I believe in you) * Prices... but also, apparently I just complain now #OldMan If you're cruising through Grove City and want solid food, a relaxed vibe, and a burger that might require a waiver... this is your spot. And - order some Ohio Condiments at Cleveland Ketchup Company. #FreeShipping #SupportLocal #BaldApproved #ReleaseTheKraken

I was getting ready to leave a review and it says "update review" lol. Oops. Wings are still solid, the boneless are a Sisco or Costco standards but I had to try them. I'll definitely order the Pork rinds over fries. They came out hissing and popping like a plate of fajitas and were awesome. Dunking them in the hot garlic butter was a bonus, damn near spiritual experience. Wash it down with whatever IPA the bartender grabbed me and I'm in heaven. Run the BBQ Costco homeless wings thru the Hot Garlic butter and suddenly the game changes. Now I realize it's all about the sauce. Somebody create an "It's all about the sauce" t-shirt and I'm buying one. I swear these pork rinds are regenerating. Or I need to ask the bartender exactly what I'm drinking. Wrapping it up, I probably would skip the homeless wings. They remind me of the at home air fryer bottom dwellers. So stick to wing wings. OK I'm finished. And I still have a full plate of regenerating pork rinds.

It's been a long time since I've had wings that are 'wet' but not soaking up a bunch of sauce. It's so hard finding a place that can make really great wings. But Memories can do it! What we didn't like was being charged for ranch to go with the wings. It's like a fee for ice in a drink or butter for a baked potato. The charge for ranch on the other items...ugh, okay. I think I waited about five minutes. I got an orange freeze, a custard icy drink with whipped cream on top that reminded me of Orange Julius. Pretty tasty. Pretty expensive for the size though. I also got a small cheese curds. Good not great. Satisfied that curd craving. Cheesy, salty, crispy. The sauces were a disappointment. I got my preferred honey mustard, and it turned out to be very thin. Not very roadworthy, because I was afraid it would splash out when I accelerated or turned. Plus so drippy that it wasn't practical to move food from the container to my mouth. The jalapeño fry sauce was thicker and more like a standard dipping sauce, but just didn't taste as good to me. I'd come back. The service was good, even though they were a bit slammed. The food was good, even if not amazing. I was in and out quickly with a cold drink, which is what I wanted.

Red Robin, Yum... (Sorta): A $9.99 Burger Adventure By Brian…read more| Take the Trip, your Next Adventure is waiting. Let me start by saying this: I love a good deal. I'll hunt down a coupon like a bloodhound and I've been known to buy a second entree just because it comes with a free pie. So when I saw Red Robin was slinging a "Yum Burger Combo" for just $9.99--complete with burger, bottomless side, and bottomless drink--I hollered "YUM!" and hit the gas. A Deal So Good, I Had to Try It (For Science) The deal was for a Red's Tavern Double, which I'll admit sounded like the kind of burger served by a guy named Earl in a roadside tavern next to a gas station and a bait shop--but I was intrigued. It came with your choice of bottomless side and drink. That's right, folks: fries and beverages with no limits. I briefly considered bringing a sleeping bag and just camping out in the booth. I went classic: steak fries and a Dr Pepper, with a side of that magical campfire dipping sauce--you know, the one that tastes like they stirred in dreams and a little bit of liquid smoke. My wife got the same burger but opted for sweet potato fries and an Arnold Palmer, because she's fancy like that. The Vibe: Casual, Kid-Approved, and Kinda Loud The place was about half full, mostly families trying to keep their kids from sticking fries in their noses. It was lively, but not chaos. Our server, Ally, was friendly, quick, and didn't even blink when I asked if "bottomless fries" meant I could get a basket for the road. (For the record: no, you can't. I tried.) The Verdict: Yum-ish Now, let's talk about the burgers. They were tasty--juicy, decent seasoning, and good toppings--but noticeably smaller than what you'd expect from a place with "bottomless" in their vocabulary. I'd describe them as slider-adjacent. At $9.99, I wasn't mad. But if I had paid full price for that same burger? I might've staged a mild protest in the parking lot. Think of it this way: It's like going to the movies and getting the matinee popcorn. It's fine, it does the job, but you're not exactly writing home about it. Unless you're me, writing a blog. So here we are. Final Thoughts: Red Robin's Yum Burger Combo is a solid budget dinner, especially when you factor in the unlimited fries (which I tried to abuse as much as dignity allowed). The burgers are flavorful, but don't expect anything heavy enough to anchor your plate. Would I go back for the $9.99 deal? Sure. Would I pay full price? Not unless that burger grows a third patty and calls me "sir." Until next time--keep chasing deals, dipping those fries, and saying yes to the Yum.
