Don't like needing poor reviews on Google in case my experience is a one off and I like to give the business an opportunity to improve. Five guys put the incorrect condiments on our sandwiches and barely filled the cup container when other locations used to put an extra scoop in the bag. I reached out about my experience with no reply. I decided to give them one more chance and now the fries are a small bag. The food is not worth the price. I will not be going again. read more

As always 5 guys has amazing burgers and fries. This is our first time in years ordering take out instead of delivery from them. The staff were so pleasant and patient with our huge order (for NINE sandwiches) and got EVERYTHING perfect. And the fries... they best anyone else HANDS DOWN. Unless you are with someone else do NOT order the large fries. A large can EASILY feed 2-3 adults. Five Guys is still our favorite hamburger restaurant!! read more

The burgers were good and huge, making the high price acceptable. The fries were limp but tasted OK. DON'T order a milkshake. They are only average in flavor but are almost $6 and roughly halfway between the size of a small and medium shake at McDonalds, Wendy's, Burger Kng, etc. Service was slightly slow and impersonal, even though there were only 3 other customers in the place. If I go back, it will be just for the hamburger, and I'll pick up the rest at either the Wendy's or Burger King, both one block away. Now that I think about it, Wendy's Baconator is roughly 30 percent cheaper than the Five Guys small cheeseburger and IMO 95 percent as tasty, so I'd probably just go to the Wendy's directly across the street, and even with a Frosty and large fries (both better than Five Guys), I'd save maybe $6-$8. This is a fancy hamburger place where you can pur hase burgers, hot dogs and fries as well as drinks. The peanuts are great as an appetizer. The place is colorful as well as clean. Service happens promptly. What they offer is great. Yet one cannot leave on hotdogs and hamburgers alone. read more

We have been going to 5 guys for a while and loved them. Today we ordered and what we saw was appallingly. We only ordered fries after seeing how they were cross contaminating everything We were hungry. They used the same gloves to touch meat, take temperature of foods, touches the screen then touch peoples food after taking credit cards. Putting the temperature probe in the food without cleaning before putting in the next. What's the point of wearing masks if they are going to cross contaminate and spread food bacteria? And there were no clean tables. When we opened the order of large fries the amount we received was less than half of what we received in the past. Have always heard about the burgers at this place so I was so excited to try one! Much to my surprise the burger was just, good. It didn't compare to some burgers I've had throughout Illinois and Wisconsin at some pub and grills. What did surprise me though, we're the fries! Best fries I've ever had! They were crunchy on the outside, soft on inside, just the right amount of salt and whatever they fry them in is tasted fabulous and golden brown. I see that they have updated their accolades on their bags and signage to reflect write ups within this decade ...still nothing about them written in Chicago, but I guess that is progress...apparently people on the east coast have crappy burgers on top of crappy pizza. sucks to live there. I sent my helper to get us lunch at taco fresco ...but apparently this 5 guys is where they used to be, so my guy bought me a double cheeseburger instead. It is my first and last burger from 5 guys. Each burger was unseasoned, overcooked and were half the size of the untoasted unseasoned bun. Dry meat with unmelted cheese on top ...not my idea of a good burger. I had half the bun left with no meat, and that was some of the better bites. They included caramelized onions, but refrigerating them after caramelizing robs them of flavor ..so nothing added there. 5 guys is just about the worst name for a restaurant. Can you believe it's been like 7 years since I've been to a Five Guys?! They're everywhere, who knows what I've been doing? Anyway, we all decided we wanted some burgers and both of us decided to give Five Guys another chance from when we had tried it yeaaars ago. I'm glad we did. We both got cheeseburgers but with different toppings. I love that Five Guys has a pretty good amount of toppings you can customize your burgers with (at no extra cost!). We ended up getting a large Cajun fries order, which was ginormous for the two of us plus our one kid. We still finished it, don't get me wrong, but no one person needs to eat that amount of potatoes. Their fries aren't meant to be crispy, but are almost like eating a mashed potato without needing a spoon. The Cajun flavoring actually had a decent kick to it. The meat for the burgers was juicy and flavorful. The burgers had that lick your fingers because all the sauce and juices are dripping down quality. Service at this Five Guys was good, too. The only issue is price. For two cheeseburgers and fries we spent somewhere over 20$. Eh, I mean it is a step above your fast food places for sure, but I would say I still say you can get a way better deal at Portillo's. read more

Went to this location by the recommendation of my son (14 years old) by his school friend. Clean inside and bright. The pricing however is more than we expected to pay. Large fries are $4.99 but the bag with all of our other ordered food had large quantities of fries at the bottom of the bag as well. Everything was hot in terms of temperature which was fine - the fries were ok. I had the hot dog - it was good as were the hamburgers that my family ordered. When Five Guys first opened, I was never a fan! Since COVID hit and options were limited, I decided to give it another try....it was outstanding! The burger was fresh and made to perfection. I even was happy with the fries. Maybe my taste buds changes over the years....not sure...but it was very good. I also have to give kudos to the Staff. I am definitely not fond of Five Guys, 2 stars is being generous since the staff was friendly. I arrived starving for after a pool party in the area and wanted/needed a veggie burger STAT. Of course, I then saw the menu and there was no veggie burger sandwich to be had. What they did have, however, was a veggie sandwich that consisted of "grilled" onions, peppers, mushrooms, and American cheese on a seeded bun. I had them add pickles, mayo, and jalapeños. This sandwich was over $4! They put 2 whole peppers that were NOT grilled, some mushrooms, 2 pickles, 2 jalapeños, and some mayo and cheese together and threw it on the bun. They forgot the onions, my favorite part of any sandwich. I was home by the time I discovered this. The sandwich was smooshed between some foil which led to a flat sandwich, very unappetizing. I feel I must not forget to mention their overpriced French fries. While fresh, they didn't have much salt or taste. A small cup for another $4 with some additional fries thrown into the bag just grossed me out. The husband had a bacon cheeseburger, which consisted of 2 parties unlike the "little bacon cheeseburger." Can they not just explain the difference on the menu? My husband said the sandwich was on par with places like Culver's. Add in a fountain drink and the total was over $20! Way overpriced for what was received. Almost 30 bucks for dinner for two people at a basic burger joint. I've been trying to figure out why ever since. The burgers are pretty good but the menu doesn't tell you they are double patties. I'm not a huge fan of the double burger and this is what I got. Okay, so the burger was good but too huge and the fries were average but way too much. One order is plenty for two. Decor is crap. All tile and hard surfaces with classic rock blaring. They wrap the burger in foil and throw it in a paper bag. You'd think for 30 bucks you'd get a plate. Nope. There were peanuts I guess you could eat while waiting but I mean, why? I thought that was weird. The service wasn't friendly and since it was so loud I wouldn't dine in again. Was quite a wait and when we got the food was pretty disappointed. Burgers have gotten awful thin, toppings on one of our two was incorrect. Burgers sat a while before topping them. Cheese never melted. Fries not super hot. Door dash came in and were apparently waiting for the other burgers that had the workers (3 of them) preoccupied from the orders for the people that actually came to the restaurant.
