My wife called me and said she's running late and I should grab a bite to eat. I just left Brooklyn! I could have waited on line for Lucali!! Luckly, I have my Yelp buddy Reva telling me I have to try the latest Shake Shack burger. I set the Tesla Nav to "Burger" and head out to the closest Shake Shack in Melville. Walking inside, it has a nice vibe. It's a clear space with lots of seating. I place my order at the kiosk, grab a table number and wait. My order comes out pretty quickly. I ordered the latest specialty burger, the French Onion Shack Stack along with a the viral Dubai Shake. I had to start with the Dubai Shake. Mind numbing good, O.M.G.! The chocolate slaps you and there are so many layers of deliciousness, the wheat in a shake is a little much but there are rules with a Dubai shack. No shredded wheat, its not the Dubai Shake. The French Onion Shack Stack, this is not a first date burger. It's juicy, sloppy and oh so good. I took my first bites without dipping it into the au jus and the next few bites with the au jus. I don't think the au jus is needed, but a nice option. I don't really care for sweet potato, but I do love tots so I wanted to the Sweet Potato Tots. Though I didn't enjoy them as much as my husband who really likes sweet potato so he ate most of them. These are some of the biggest ones I've ever had and tasty too. From the specials, we also ordered the Grilled Salmon Fillet, which was topped with Pesto Cream Sauce served over rice and the Boneless Spanish Grilled Chicken Thighs served with rice & beans and sweet plantains. These 2 we saved for dinner. For lunch, my wife & I shared a Seared Ahi Tuna Steak BLT sandwich with Wasabi Mayo. This sandwich hit all the notes. Tonight on 1/10 after 8 pm, my family and I decided to break our good eating happy with a cheat meal from Burger king. We usually check our bag of food before pulling off, but we've never had an issue here, so we didnt double check. We ordered the Family Bundle along with a 10 PC nugget, 1 Hershey pie and 2 small onion rings. Once we get home, we realize we are missing an order of onion rings. There were supposed to be 2 orders of rings. We never received a receipt unfortunately, but I took the chance and drove back to this location to get them. I get to the register and explain myself to the woman who immediately rolls her eyes sucks her teeth. She was an older woman with black hair, pale skin, and an accent. She walks off to print the receipt (what she should've done when we were first there) and comes back to practically slam it on the counter and tell me she knows what she gave me. She says that I'm wrong and she was right. (NO she didn't read back the order when were first at the drive thru and that's my fault for not asking her to because now I see there's low quality people working the night shift) Where's the beautiful young lady with the long ponytail? She never gets it wrong! Anyway, the receipt read 1 small onion ring and I bought the 2nd one for my nephew to enjoy. I told the woman that I'm always here and I dont want problems.
