My wife called me and said she's running late and I should grab a bite to eat. I just left Brooklyn! I could have waited on line for Lucali!! Luckly, I have my Yelp buddy Reva telling me I have to try the latest Shake Shack burger. I set the Tesla Nav to "Burger" and head out to the closest Shake Shack in Melville. Walking inside, it has a nice vibe. It's a clear space with lots of seating. I place my order at the kiosk, grab a table number and wait. My order comes out pretty quickly. I ordered the latest specialty burger, the French Onion Shack Stack along with a the viral Dubai Shake. I had to start with the Dubai Shake. Mind numbing good, O.M.G.! The chocolate slaps you and there are so many layers of deliciousness, the wheat in a shake is a little much but there are rules with a Dubai shack. No shredded wheat, its not the Dubai Shake. The French Onion Shack Stack, this is not a first date burger. It's juicy, sloppy and oh so good. You're going to need more napkins, this is a damn good burger and add a star if you like French Onion Soup. Shake Shack Melville, Keep rockin'!

It comes with a side of their classic syrup, but listen it's not necessary AT ALL. But of course for dramatics I had to drizzle it on almost each bite. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I looked at the menu on top of the order counter and ordered with the cashier. I had wanted to try the Roast Cubano, but she said it just gotten taken off the menu. Instead, I ordered the Roast Beef Melt ($16.20), Sweet Potato Tots ($6.99), and Coke ($2.75) to go. It took only a few minutes for my order to be ready. The Roast Beef Melt was a very good size and I was full just eating half of the sandwich. The ciabatta was super crunchy and crispy. The Roast Beef Melt had mozzarella, horseradish sauce, garlic butter, and crispy onions on everything ciabatta with a side of au jus. I took my first bites without dipping it into the au jus and the next few bites with the au jus. I don't think the au jus is needed, but a nice option. I don't really care for sweet potato, but I do love tots so I wanted to the Sweet Potato Tots. Though I didn't enjoy them as much as my husband who really likes sweet potato so he ate most of them. Roast Sandwich House can definitely be busy around noon, but it doesn't take too long for an order to be ready. There are also tables outside which can be enjoyable on a nice day.

And a bonus surprise--I found the butter-dipped soft serve available here, so I got to try that.

Tonight on 1/10 after 8 pm, my family and I decided to break our good eating happy with a cheat meal from Burger king. We usually check our bag of food before pulling off, but we've never had an issue here, so we didnt double check. We ordered the Family Bundle along with a 10 PC nugget, 1 Hershey pie and 2 small onion rings. Once we get home, we realize we are missing an order of onion rings. There were supposed to be 2 orders of rings. We never received a receipt unfortunately, but I took the chance and drove back to this location to get them. I get to the register and explain myself to the woman who immediately rolls her eyes sucks her teeth. She was an older woman with black hair, pale skin, and an accent. She walks off to print the receipt (what she should've done when we were first there) and comes back to practically slam it on the counter and tell me she knows what she gave me. She says that I'm wrong and she was right. (NO she didn't read back the order when were first at the drive thru and that's my fault for not asking her to because now I see there's low quality people working the night shift) Where's the beautiful young lady with the long ponytail? She never gets it wrong! Anyway, the receipt read 1 small onion ring and I bought the 2nd one for my nephew to enjoy. I told the woman that I'm always here and I dont want problems. I paid and left after calling my friend to see if she's still in contact with the manager from this locations because tonight's worker needs some training. I dont need her to cower to me, but be a bit nicer. You never know, you may see me working my retail job and need my help. AND THE WHOPPER AND ONION RINGS WERE COLD!!!! The customer isn't always right. Sometimes they're an Ahole. This time, Cruella DeVille was the A-hole.

Five Guys, and places such as SmashBurger etc, are going for the "cut above" the fast food burger joints like McDonald's, BK, Sonic, etc, but occupy a "middle ground" between those and the "boutique" burger places. This location is clean and the staff is friendly and respectful. (I'm at that point in my life where being called "Sir" is welcomed). I find the burgers are well cooked and nicely dressed up when done "all the way". The fries are excellent, most often, and I like the "devil may care" approach to serving size...always over filled. It's definitely a no frills kinds of place with the "high boy" tables and chairs and two-tone color scheme. One suggestion though, try the fries with ketchup with the malt vinegar mixed in...it's EXCELLENT! Again, I really like 5 Guys. It's the better if that "mid tier" burger places for me. And, this location has such nice folks working there, it's a pleasure to stop in!

I had to wait cause they make the fries when you arrive and I asked for no salt. I was the last customer of the day but still you want good quality food. The fries are usually great so I am not sure what happened.
