I ordered the black truffle burger, and it just did not sit well with me at all. Beyond not enjoying the taste, it genuinely made me feel unwell afterward, which has left me with a pretty strong aversion to Shake Shack overall. I know a lot of people love this place, and clearly some menu items work better than others, but for me personally, this visit was a miss and not one I'm eager to repeat.

Walking inside, it has a nice vibe. It's a clear space with lots of seating. I place my order at the kiosk, grab a table number and wait. My order comes out pretty quickly. I ordered the latest specialty burger, the French Onion Shack Stack along with a the viral Dubai Shake. I had to start with the Dubai Shake. Mind numbing good, O.M.G.! The chocolate slaps you and there are so many layers of deliciousness, the wheat in a shake is a little much but there are rules with a Dubai shack. No shredded wheat, its not the Dubai Shake. I was as despondent as ever and chalked it up to fate. I said oh okay. No thank you. I won't get anything. Bobby took it upon himself to make me a shell and make my custom order. And a bonus surprise--I found the butter-dipped soft serve available here, so I got to try that.

I enjoyed walking around and taking in the animatronics--they always make the trip feel more like an experience than a regular grocery run. In the fruit department, an employee was cutting up a pink pineapple. We were curious, and she happily offered us a sample, which felt like great customer service in action. I picked up a few sale items, but overall found most things to be a bit overpriced. For me, Stew Leonard's is more of a fun outing than a place to do all my regular grocery shopping. It's perfect for seasonal finds and unique items.
