Was here last week and was grateful they could make my low carb "protein style" bun-less burger wrapped in lettuce, to be held by hand, versus in a rectangular tin to be eaten with fork and knife like the Hillsborough Five Guys do. So after scoring Hillsborough a 2 for their fail, I felt I owed it to Ewing to give them a 5. It seems to all be about the customer at this particular Five Guys. Showed up here about 11:30am, only a couple of others in store. No one in line. I stand at order here sign, and wait, and wait. Watch some other dude come in and order milkshakes at the pick up area. The 5 guy woman employee starts making this dudes milkshakes. The are 4 other employees just standing around or cooking burgers. Watch the cook squeeze all the juices out of the burgers, decided this wan't the place for me. This area of New Jersey is kind of like the back woods of West Virginia. I went here because I heard so much about it, and I have to say I was VERY underwhelmed. And also a bit ill after leving. I ordered a simple cheeseburger and fries (burgers and hot dogs and fries are about all you can get). The burger was greasy. Very greasy. The fries were greasy. Very greasy. The fries came in a paper bag that started to soak up the grease. I wanted to sit down and read my Kindle while I was having lunch, and it was a chore because I didn't want to get grease on the screen by tapping it to change pages. It's hard not to get grease on your hands when eating here. I only ate half my fries because there was so much oil on everything, I couldn't in good conscious subject my body to that much fat. As it was, a burger and half of the fries left me feeling weighed down. The fries weren't even particularly crisp, just filled with grease. Do your body a favor and check out a different burger joint. Burgers can be juicy without being greasy, and fries can be crisp and delicious without being weighed down in oil. read more

The burgers here are just absolutely the best! Always cooked fresh upon ordering, the beef is juicy and fresh, with no feel of filler. When you bite into the patties, you can feel the slightly crispy exterior on the surface, the beef browned to perfection, but then a burst of flavor arrives as you reach the tender interior of the patty. I just love the fact that you can customize your burger and ask for as many different ingredients as you want at no extra cost, not like at other places where they're stingier with their toppings. The fries here are also done to perfection. They feel like they are freshly cut and fried just right. They're always piping hot and they shovel so much into the bag, even for a small portion. And of course, there's always the free peanuts. Not all Five Guys are created equal, but this one's definitely a gem in the rough for fast food places. I doubt I would even want the " regular " size burger, as the " little" was just right. The fries were very fresh and I liked that vinegar was offered as a condiment. I love that they use peanut oil to fry their french fries it is a healthier oil and I'm not a hamburger girl but I do love their Hebrew National skinless beef hot dogs. I put fried onions and grilled mushrooms on my skinless all beef hot dogs with mustard and ketchup. Oh and their french fries are too good! I can eat their french fries without any ketchup they are so good. read more

This place is great! It's like a fast food joint with the quality of a home cooked burger. The fries are huge, finishing a small by yourself is an impressive feat. It's a little pricey in comparison to fast food dollar menu stuff, but it's comparable to the premium item menus at any fast food joint, and that is what you are getting; an extremely premium item. we chugged along I-95 desperate for a burger king. Found a five guys: even better. We came to NJ to see Princeton, but we only enjoyed ourselves at Ewing's Five Guys. I recommend planning your next trip around stopping at this establishment. The food was hot, fresh and delicious, prepared extremely quickly. The service was outstanding. The bathroom was impeccable. Considering moving here so I can come for lunch every day. If I could give 6/5 stars, that would be the case here. read more

My wife and I are generally fans of Five Guys, especially the burgers. However, on a recent visit we did take out and were disappointed/disgusted with the fries. They were undercooked and extreemly greasy. Almost ruined the rest of the meal. If this were McDonalds, and I was charged a dollar, I'd let it slide. Instead this place charges a premium price and I expected at least a reasonable level of quality. I'm pissed and feel I was ripped off. I'm won't say I'll never come back, because we do like the burgers, but believe me when I say I will check the fries very carefully before walking out. Suggest you do likewise. read more

Probably the best burgers you're going to get that you don't grill yourself. They don't mind slopping the pickles on, or anything else you want extra. It's not like Burger King, where it's like pulling teeth to get even one extra slice of a little-bitty pickle. Fries are excellent. A bit pricey, but when you think how expensive even Wendy's, McDonald's, etc. have gotten, it's only a little more for a far better meal. read more

I went to five guys in Ewing yes it's pricey but the burgers and fries in vanilla milkshake were very good and I think the customer servicewas very friendly and they will help out in anyway and the store is absolutely spotless read more

Great flavor. One of the few places to get a good hot dog in the area. Your choice of toppings. Great burgers. Price: Little too high. One dog is nearly $4.00. It's a good dog, though. I went there and the person who took my order was very nice. After she took my order, she yelled to the cooks as if she was in an assembly line. She said the toppings are free and so are the peanuts. Now, Im paying over $8.99 for a burger? add another, 2 orders of fries and 2 drinks... Do I get a kiss with that as she yells my order number out and gives me 2 empty cups? So I get free peanuts, I have to shell them too. I dont want peanuts, I want a good burger. Im not at Ground Round. I get two empty cups, I fill them with my desired soda. I pick up my burger wrapped in a ghetto foil wrap and I put in on a greasy table. No one came and asked me how my two orders $25 hamburger, fries and a coke was. No friendliness. No fun. BCB (bacon cheese burger - 2 patties, bacon, cheese) is as good as it gets. One SMALL fries feeds a family of four. These are big, juicy, fresh burgers, and made of real food. Compare to McDonald's corn-test-tube-engineered factory food. read more

I completely agree with the recent Consumer Reports article on burger chains; this is a good, but not great, middle of the pack burger joint. Service is efficient, the free peanuts are a nice touch, and they quickly deliver a good (not great) meal every time, but it is expensive; a bacon cheeseburger alone is $7.59... add in fries & a drink and you are looking at a $13-$14 meal. There are plenty of "mom & pop" places in almost every area of the country where you can get a much better meal and spend a good deal less. read more

I've been to several Five Guys locations and this one is by far one of the best. What makes it the best? The staff! Everyone has a great attitude. They all seem like they enjoy working there. Five Guys burgers and fries always prepare their food on a daily basis and I believe this is what makes their food consistently very good. There does not appear to be a limit on their burger toppings. They use peanut oil, so if you have an allergy to peanuts then this place may not be the place for you. read more

I absolutely LOVE five guys! I first discovered it when i lived in delaware. They ooened a new one less than a mile away from our house and we decided to stop in to try it out without any expectations. The menu is small that mainly consists of burgers and fries but thats all you need to be hooked on this place! I always get the bacon cheeseburger and regular cajun fries that is more then enough for two people. The list of toppings for the burger consists of about 20 different things and all free. After ordering my ginormous burger with 5-8 toppings each time i go, i never have a hard time trying to eat it . The construction of the burger is well thoughtout and things dont starting falling out the other end when you take a bite. The burger is so juicy i crave it all the time. In fact, afer discovering five guys, i ate it 5 days a week for over 6 months! Yes it is THAT good! Im craving it right now as i write this review... Thats it, i cant take it anymore im heading over to five guys right now to get myself my regular! read more

This place is awesome. Anytime I want a nice, huge bag of fries, I go here. I always get a large cajun fries with either a cheese hot dog or bacon cheese burger. I've never been disappointed with my order. The only complaint I can say is that sometimes it takes a bit to get the order done, but hey, it has never been excessive, and the staff is cheerful, plus free peanuts! read more
