I'm late to the game when it comes to Five Guys since we don't have one San Francisco but as soon as I walked in it was so oddly reminiscent of In-N-Out. Pretty much same everything except for the free peanuts. The bigger difference is the portion size. For example when you order a regular fry it's 3/4 of a brown paper bag. I was like, "Who can eat that many fries?" Then I looked around and noticed I was the skinniest guy in the place. Love this Five Guys in Bowie Town Center! Always clean, peanuts are always fresh (that's a biggie) and the servers are nice. The burgers are very good too with the fries, but this time I wanted an all-beef hotdog. Five Guys does a very good hotdog too, for real and you can get all those toppings on it too. This is the first location of Five Guys I've ever tried. And I've been a convert ever since. Recently they opened one in Palm Desert and as a California native I was thrilled this east coast transplant arrived in the Desert. But the Five Guys at the BTC was my first. And you never forget your first. ;) I personally don't think you can do a burger better than they do it here. Considering you can customize it however you like, it's thick, juicy, tasty and fresh. And they put fresh jalapenos on it? Sold. It is not a small burger. The standard comes as a double burger, FYI. Unless you get the "little", which means one patty, and the one I always choose. By the way, it's HUGE, even with one patty. And they don't skimp on the fries, either. One order is plenty to share. read more

I read negative things about Five Guys online. About how they make a mediocre product etc. I don't buy it. Stopped at the Bowie Town Center on our way to Delaware last weekend. My son and I went in and ate at Five Guys. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, with fried onions, fried mushrooms and jalapenos. It was excellent. I love the peppers that Five Guys use. They are surprisingly hot, and their color is really bright. I think the thing that made the burger so good was the cheese. The cheese just tastes good. Between the two of us, we split a regular order of french fries. They were crisp enough. They weren't soggy. They were also plentiful. Enough for two pretty good appetites. The young guy at the counter who took our order was pleasant and attentive. The rest room was clean enough that I don't have a whole lot to observe in that regard. That's a good thing. read more

YUM! First trip to a Five Guys, definitely won't be the last. I got a Hamburger, with lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and BBQ sauce. My friend got got a bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, grilled onions, and A-1. We also split a seriously large order of fries. Definitely one of the best burgers I've had out, my only reason for not giving it 5 stars was that the fries were a bit over-cooked and a little more BBQ sauce on the burger wouldn't have been a bad thing. read more

Always a great burger, BUT this location can't seem to get the fries right. Not crispy and usually mealy inside. I thought I got a bad batch a couple years ago and they happily replaced them, but they were the same. Have tried it several times since- STILL LOUSY FRIES. Talked with one of the employees and his attitude was that everybody loved their fries and there was nothing wrong with them. Five Guys is my go-to place for burgers. And this location is as good as any other that I've been to. They do a good bit of self-promoting inside the store itself, with newspaper and magazine articles framed on the walls with comments from critics highlighted about how good the food is, and how reasonable the prices are. I can't imagine anyone who sets foot in the store needing to be further cajoled into ordering. It is not hype on the walls; it is true that the food is great and you don't pay as much as they could get away with charging. If you order a hamburger, cheeseburger, bacon burger or bacon cheeseburger, what you are getting is 2 patties, so don't be thrown off. If you only want one patty, order the "little burger" or cheeseburger. I get my bacon burger with grilled onions, jalapeños, bbq sauce and hot sauce. And every time I've been there, or any location I've ever been to, I've gotten the exact same deliciously juicy burger. There is one telling detail that should convey their dedication to freshness: their jalapeños are fresh cut and not pickled from a jar. I have to tip my hats to their french fries. I have worked at places that served fresh-cut fries, I've made my own from scratch at home; I've blanched and blanched again. Their fries are always good, and always the perfect level of crispiness, even 15 minutes after you picked up your order. Be warned, the large fry is like $5. It is enormous, and probably not designed to be consumed by one person. That never stops me, but don't order it thinking its like fast food portions. You get like a 16oz cup full of them, and then just as many in the bag. I prefer them Cajun-Style - which is dusted with Old Bay, but they are just as good plain salted with malt vinegar and ketchup. Note also that if you call ahead to place an order, they will make your burger and whatever else, but wait until you arrive to make your fries. This is their effort at making sure your fries are fresh and hot when you leave with them. I would prefer they already be in the bag, but I appreciate what they're trying to do; especially since I have left other call-ahead places with fries that were soggy and gross by the time I got home. I am not a fan of the futuristic coke machines they have. I'll let the market bear that out, but since they have so many options available, it takes people way longer to decide what to get, and older people have trouble figuring out how to use them at all. Not to mention, each machine can only be used one at a time, where the old fountains could be used two at a time. This is the place to go when you want a burger and fries that were made with a little love, but no fruity dogma about grass-fed, organic, hormone-free, fair-trade, or free-range that you get from more pretentious scientifically-illiterate chains like Chipotle, Panera, or Gambrills' recent addition: Elevation Burger. read more

Evidently the Largo location near my Maryland home isn't available for review so I thought I'd comment on the closest one. Five Guys is by far the best hamburger I've ever had and I've had many. Although it's a chain they are pretty consistent throughout and I understand they will be opening one in the West Village NYC. read more

I finally decided to try a Five Guys burger this evening, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The burger was very good (even though the only cooking option is well-done), and the toppings were varied and flavorful. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with mushrooms, onions and jalapeños. I have to agree with comments about the soggy fries, but also have to acknowledge that fries are a very personal preference. I would note that the Cajun fries are too salty and the serving sizes are huge. Service was good, and I liked how the ordering system was set up. I have yet to stop by a Five Guys, in any state or location and not have a good meal. This location made a juicy delicious bacon burger with pickles and bbq sauce just like I like it. They weren't as generous on fries as they are in Richmond VA though. Normally they dump a enormous scoop in the bag.. This place literally gave me a small, the cup wasn't even full,.. Completely messed up my order. Ordered three chilli cheese dogs and none of the hotdogs came with chilli and a thick gross piece of cheese. The burger came with ketchup on it even after I asked not to put it on there. I've had better food at a different location. read more

Best made to order burger I know. Lots of free add ons. A little greasy, but a good greasy. Free peanuts all you can eat. Great fries; huge serving. And they have good vinegar for the fries! Good service. A little outdoor seating on grassy area too. Near the parking lot. read more

This is the third time I've come here and every time they have messed up SOMETHING order. Either it as the wrong fries, or the wrong burger....and this time they couldn't find my order. Apparently once they did, they were so behind they started arguing with each other. Ended up waiting 30 mins past when my was supposed to be ready. And it's not even crowded!! The burgers taste like real burgers. The serving size is huge. The smaller one is big enough to satisfy an adult. The french fry serving is big too. And you can snack on peanuts in the shell while you wait for your burger. It's a no frills place, but they've got good burgers. We even tried the grilled cheese once and that was good too. read more

My favorite burger. I was never a big burger fan until I was introduced to Five Guys. My ex is friends with the family and so we used to eat there for free at the Alexandra location. So wonderful. Awesome crispy french fries and a juicy burger. The chains are also good, only sometimes the fries are a little soggy but when they are on point they are the best. There are still peanuts for customers to eat, and I don't mind that they are not all over the floor...I eat them and throw the shells in the trash./ read more

Today we made it rain on the Five Guys guys. They were especially friendly and generous with the portions as well as conscientious about the prep for our food. The check was 11 bucks. Really love this place. Their call ahead ordering has gone to crap though, where they're routinely messing up the order. It would be great if there was another way to convey even simple orders and make sure it's correct and all there when you goto pick it up. read more

I went here for lunch today. Doesn't get better than a huge burger with so many fries piled on top you have to eat half of them just to get to the meat! I get mine with extra bacon and bbq sauce. So great to have a Five Guys nearby! read more
