Your favorite Yelp correspondent was in the Silver Spring area visiting our son, resident pastor at George Washington University, and we stopped in at Z Burgers for a quick bite. My son ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomato, Mayo and Z sauce. He reported it as "Highly satisfying, comparable to the ChiK-Fil-A spicy." I chose the Single Patty Cheeseburger with small fries and a drink. My cheeseburger was good but not spectacular. The fries, ditto. Pro Tips: -The fries are generously portioned in all three sizes. My small was enough for the three of us to share; -The drinks are available in bottles, only. The fountain dispensary is broken; -Be prepared to spend- Z Burgers does not feature any combo specials, so you'll pay a la carte for every item. Our bill, for two sandos, a small fry and one Dr. Pepper, was $28.72...which is downright pricey. (And I write this as a lifelong Los Angeleno accustomed to living in the country's second most expensive marketplace). First impression and what I like about this place is that everything is cooked to order. You walk in, place your order, and you really do have it your way. What I didn't like, was the wait time and how off putting this space felt. They worked with what they had space wise. There are some two seater booths that line the one wall and then there is a high top like table, they also had some tables and chairs that went out into the mall area. What was off putting was that right outside their space security sits. Makes you think you might be doing something not right. Once my food was ready I decided to dig in. I was a bit dismayed by the price I paid, that is until I saw the amount of food I received. This turned out to be a pretty big meal that kept me full for the rest of the day. The burger was amazing and all the toppings, which our of your choice, are fresh. You get a ton of fries which was a nicer proportionate helping to the burger. Drinks are either fountain or bottle, kind of all depends on if you are eating in house or taking it to go. With the space being a bit narrow, depending on where you sit, you might be near the trash area or condiment area. Which can and obviously is the busiest areas in the location. Staff were good at their job here and tended to the customers when they came in. Even when it was a large group of customers, which were a little more loud than needed to be. They were patient and made sure they got them out of the space as quickly as they could (remember, the food is cooked to order). read more

First time trying so I ordered several different things to taste. Here's my thoughts on them Cheeseburger- lacks flavor and quality meat. Bun is too heavy and doesn't compliment anything. It was awful. Not sure how anyone can compare it to Five Guys other than the price. French Fries- every one has a different texture some crunchy some soggy some thin some thick. Onion Rings- batter was thick and salty. Onion inside was cute too thick as well. Because this they separate from each other. Also, there wasn't any crunch to it. I took two bites and threw away the rest. Burger King (which I rarely eat) is much much better. Milkshake was delish and the only thing I would have again. Flavors can be mixed. I had Amaretto and Irish Creme. Great combo. Only thing I had to ask the guys to add more ice cram to it as he made it too sweet the first time. In a mall that is teetering on being out of business. Good was average. Service was very good and fast.

OK, this is a tough one. First, the service was great. But, if you eat in, the place is just dinghy like the mall. The onion rings were FANSTASTIC. The fries were great. I got the 50/50, way too much, but delicious. I hadn't had a cheesesteak in awhile, so I order one instead of a burger. Very, very bland. Didn't even finish it. The cheese they put on it melted/dissolved right in the bread. The shake was generic. They have lots of flavors, but having work at a DQ, I know they just have a bunch of squirt bottles and pump a flavor in. I may go back and try a burger or chicken sand. The onion rings were that good. They need a pop machine so customers can get their own refills. read more

I was really craving a burger and decided to get one from here. Sadly, it didn't quite hit the spot. I've had Z-burger from their food truck and from what I remembered, it was good. Didn't have that experience here. Can't put my finger on it, but something about the flavor was just really off for me! Second time here. Was great the first time. Got a burger with a fries. This time I tried the chicken sandwich in original ( they have spicy also), comes with mayo, pickles, lettuce, tomato and I added ketchup. You can many more toppings if you'd like. I also got the 1/2 fries and 1/2 onion rings, which is perfect for me, indecisive. Great location. A couple doors up from Giant. read more

I went to the z burger in Greenbelt MD on August 2nd 2020. I ordered onion rings, single bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato and bbq sauce. I waited for 20 mins and when I got home I saw that they put onions mayonnaise and no bbq on my burger, completely incorrect. Then I see plastic from a lettuce wrap inside the burger. My father ordered a kosher hot dog with just mustard and onions but they put cheese on his hot dog. I'm disappointed and extremely disgusted by the lack of caution they take when preparing food. The location is odd, but the food was really good. I've been twice and both times I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with the mayo on the side. It takes a little time because (I am assuming), they make customers' food to order. But, the food comes hot and on point. The chicken is crispy and there is a healthy helping of chicken on the bun. With all of the hype around Popeyes, I think this place is worth a try with a shorter line and better quality. The fries are super delicious and worth getting your own - just in case you have someone like my husband that asks to share fries and then hogs them all! The next time I visit, I think will also try fries with the onion rings and a milkshake :) read more

Delicious last minute decision! My daughter was starving after a long day of traveling and found this place after a long day and night of running around. Not only do they have burgers or doubles you can pick anything for toppings for free! Jalapeno poppers on a burger yum... For me I got the turkey burger cooked to perfection and my husband had the veggie burger so filling and great! The take Eagle Buck's for you students. This location is not safe when it comes to COVID. Upon walking into the location, we noticed the employees were not wearing their masks and pulled them up once we got to the cash register. I had the steak and cheese and it was amazing. They let you add any topping for no extra charge! Just the way I like it--grilled onions, green peppers, mushrooms plus raw lettuce and tomato. There is 1 size 8 in, cut in half, but half is plenty for 1 meal. Perfect to share or save for another day. Reheats well, bread and all--microwave for about 1 min 30 seconds. Gives Jersey Mike's a run for its money, considering it's in the same shopping center. So tough competition. Haven't tried the burgers, fries, shakes or chicken sandwiches yet, but they seem to be highly recommended. But definitely check out the steak and cheese. read more

My husband and I ate from this Z-burger place inside the Beltway Plaza shopping mall in Greenbelt Maryland yesterday. We both shared the seasoned fries and onion rings and my husband chose to have a cheesesteak while I chose a cheeseburger with fried onions, mushrooms, and barbecue sauce (my husband had ketchup and malt vinegar with his food while I had some mango mayonnaise and malt vinegar to have with the fries/onion rings combo). The employee handling our order was cheerful/had a pleasant personality and we both received our food in a reasonable timeframe. I keep an open mind to looking at the reviews both of men and women who are paid reviewers/paid critics/writers and those who paid for the experiences out of pocket.
