We went in and order the cheeseburger with fries for two and it was almost $50!!! The staff were pleasant. The store was filled with the awesome smell of French fries and burgers. So glad they had the big box of peanuts available, which I happily had my share of while waiting for our order. They do make the burgers fresh and I like that, but definitely NOT worth the cost. I do not like leaving reviews. But this experience has been exhausting and I must post. I lost my ipad. The address shown was this address, at this Five Guys. From past experience, the find my alert is usually correct. However, I cannot prove anything. I told the manager I didn't care who had it. I just wanted it back. So whomever has it, I hope they enjoy it. Maybe they need it more than I do. I did not eat here. I believe I must have dropped it nearby, and someone who "resides" here found it. I waited a good hour and a half, so all of the customers had come and gone. And still the address remained the same. So, it is now out of my hands, literally. Although I fairly like their food, it is way over priced and today was another experience. I was waiting for my burger at the end of the counter. Another gentlemen was waiting for his order and part of it was missing. He handed his phone to the lady putting the burgers together. She grabbed it with both hands and zoomed in on the order, touching the screen. She then goes back to touching the next burgers. I politely leaned in and said "Can you change your gloves please? You just touched that gentlemen's phone." She thankfully changed her gloves, but that should not have had to be asked of her. This is how germs get spread! I was short on time and allowed myself to go here rather than to by usual 5guys to come here. The person who took my order was basic, then hung up before I could say goodbye. The purple haired person was there in body but that's it. They all seemed tired at 9 pm. You can be tired but fake it a little for the customer maybe. There is a fruit fly problem here with many of these bugs swarming around the ketchup dispenser. Not sure why I thought they would be gone by now. Just nasty and unappetizing. Fix this problem! Also please drain the fries before putting them in the bag. Fries were so greasy they made my stomach hurt. When I got up to get my drink I saw a RAT scurry across the floor from the potato bags underneath one of the tables in the back. At long last, Bethesdans who rarely venture into the scary world of DC or Virginia can see what they've been missing out on. This location is conveniently placed on Bethesda Avenue amidst a myriad of different restaurants and more upscale stores. Considering the other options in the immediate area, this is a great option for cheap, greasy food. If you don't know, Five Guys prides itself on simple tasty burgers. Thin-style patties, two to a bun, coming only with cheese. They offer a good amount of various toppings, all for free. Onions, pickles, ketchup and mustard, A-1 sauce... it's all good. The fries are also delicious, really truly great stuff. Be warned that even the small size has enough spuds to feed two people. But if you're incredibly hungry, a burger and some fries will fill you up nice. Just be warned: it took me a few minutes to get a burger when the place didn't have a line. Ordered food online for curbside pickup which they offer. My husband went to pick it up. There was no curbside pickup when he got there. He had to go inside and it was too crowded for social distancing. They gave him our order and it turned out to be someone else's order. We didn't realize it had someone else's name on it until it was too late. So we paid a lot for food that we did not order and weren't able to have a safe pickup during the COVID epidemic. The newest addition to the Five Guys empire opened right in the heart of Bethesda Row yesterday (Nov 7th) and I could not be more amped to go check it out tonight. My cheeseburger (light mayo, raw onions, lettuce, tomato, jalapenos, A1 and hot sauce) was on point. Made fresh to order as usual, I thought the produce was particularly fresh, even for a Five Guys, and I appreciated the razor-thinly sliced jalapenos. The restaurant was clean and well-lit, the staff cordial and speedy, and the prices the usual bargain (the gf and I walked out with our fully loaded little and regular cheeseburgers for $10.27 including tax). The only semi-knock on the place was that it seemed grossly overstaffed. The eleven people behind the counter at 8PM on a Sunday night easily outnumbered the customers in the store, but I guess it's not a bad thing to have a few extra hands in case business picks up (This place is going to be a zoo at lunchtimes on weekdays with the local work crowd). Huge, delicious, greasy patties, fresh lettuce and tomatoes, mayo put on the burger for you (which is great b/c it is just downright too time consuming to do this myself when I could be devouring this burger and all its goodness) and one cannot forget the delicious yellow American cheese, which somehow always tastes better here than what I use at home. One huge thing to note, is that the location Google maps is showing, is flat out wrong. I went for lunch today, and stood looking at a Mercedes Benz dealership trying to decipher whether or not they would put a Five Guys... inside... of the dealership... They didn't. Turn the opposite direction on Bethesda Ave from Arlington than what it tells you and head towards the line of shops and restaurants where all the people are. The fries are fried to order, so they're always hot (which means that if you order fries, you're going to have to wait a few minutes). But what's the rush? If you want to have a high calorie, grease-filled cheat meal you must go to Five Guys. Remember to eat the hamburger you order right away or the bun will get soggy from the contents inside of it. I understand it's close to closing time but not serving a paying customer because it's close to closing time is rude and unprofessional. When I want a burger, I want all its greasy goodness. This is my favorite Five Guys location so far. You don't want to be anywhere near the store if you're severely allergic to peanuts, though. Food: I only get their fries and burgers. I've tried their hot dogs, but burgers are what I'm craving when I come in here. They have fresh jalapenos as a topping! Even with the new "gourmet not fast food" Kraze Burger in place, I'd take Five Guys and their no nonsense burgers anyday. Their fries are always crispy and yummy. I love watching them fill my "regular" order...the cup is really just a vessel to scoop up the fries, not a gauge for size. I always get half a paper bag full of fries when I order regular. And...free peanuts! Price: For the amount of food you get, the price is very reasonable. You can also split a large order of fries between two very hungry people. Service: The people who work here are always cheerful and friendly. Really great bunch. Even though it's situated in the middle of downtown Bethesda, it doesn't try to be fancy or hip...it's just a humble little burger chain. And I love that. read more

And the burgers are good enough that I have to give it a good rating. But those people who say that this is the best burger in the DC area must not have tried Urban Burger over on Norbeck Road. This place can't hold a candle to Urban Burger. But four stars isn't bad, and given that there are only a few places in Bethesda cheap enough to go on a regular basis, this gets a vote of confidence from me. I really am NOT a meat person, especially heavy red meat like hamburgers. However, one day I was in bethesda and my boyfriend insisted that we go here and I try one of their burgers/fries. I reluctantly gave in. Best decision I ever made. One word: YUM. Such a great source of comfort food for those cold fall/winter days.
