I've been to the West Van one and now the Bellingham one - which is actually closer to where I live. One thing that I've figured already are the crappy locations Five Guys has. Not easy to get into but who cares. The burgers are great. Fries are OK - although you do get a TON. One note to make is that the mini burgers are one patty and the regular burgers are all TWO! read more

Five Guys Burgers and Fries is my kind of place. Its a bit overwhelming when you place your order because you have so many choices of topics on your burger. The nice part is you can get exactly what you want. Don't want pickles, then don't order pickles. The fry proportions to go are huge. The large fries is usually enough for 2 or 3 people. At first glance you might think the fries are spendy, but knowing that you can share them helps a bit. They have peanuts to snack on while you wait for your food. Service is always excellent. The burgers don't travel well, so either plan on eating there or taking it home if you live near by. read more

5 stars for 5 guys. I just really like the mentality behind this burger chain. I think it's something along the lines of "let's not nickel and dime our customers for little extras, we'll do fine if we just serve them excellent high quality burgers (and awesome fries) at a price that'll beat most other chains." Free peanuts don't hurt either - they're really good ones! read more

It is impossible to create a perfect circle. Measure it closely enough, and it isn't perfectly round. It is in this spirit that the Five Guys burger is crafted - from the ideal of the perfect burger - and starting from there. Was it perfect? No. Was it aiming to be? I think it was. Did it come close? It did. After reading countless reviews comparing FGB to IaO, I had to try for myself. Of course, part of the IaO charm is the requirement that one is in Southern California (or nearabouts) to have one. The regional-ness of the chain makes it better. Five Guys is now national, with a vengeance, and so it has to be judged on the burger alone. Does it measure up to the best that other chains have to offer? Yes. Without a doubt, the best burger I've had from a chain since In and Out. I'd go so far as to say (gasp) it's better. I know, I know. The whole In and Out package is better - the stores, the efficiency of their drive-thru windows, rolled up in a Southern Cal sunny day. But burger for burger, I think this is better. By a nose. I mean, unwrap the thing. Look at it. It's (nearly) a perfect circle! You can't take your eyes off of it! It's come to this - the American burger has come back to it's roots. Honest ingredients, assembled with care, and delivered fresh. It's the anti-fast-food fast food. I'm a new fan. read more

We order from this location frequently. They always have excellent burgers and service! Convenient location and decent parking also.

Ok, I'm not a big chain restaurant guy but this place is worth mentioning. I've been to many a Five Guys but this has got to have the best customer service ever. Received a greeting when I entered and another one from all the employees I interacted with. Smiles and courtesies! Waaaaay above and beyond anything I've experienced at a burger stand before. I got a double patty cheeseburger w jalapeños and grilled onions. No sauce cause that's just not right when a patty tastes this good. Of course I got the abnormally portion of "small fries" cause they're that tasty. With a drink my meal came out to $12. At that price I'll say this is always a great stop to get that burger fix. Burger is moist and flavorful, cheese is cheesey, and fries are a mixed bag of soft and crispy fresh cut. Two tips, tell them no salt on the fries and add your own and share your fries!!! Seriously though, outstanding customer service!!! read more

So great! The food is cooked on the grill right there and the price is worth the taste. Tip for two: order French fries to share because they give you a lot! read more

I have been to this restaurant a few times now and found the hamburgers to be quite average. Tonight although, I decided to get a hotdog. To my surprise the hotdog was cut in half and put on a small bun. For almost 6 dollars I received an average tasting hotdog at best. Not the worst hotdog I have ever eaten but close enough to where I will never order it again. I think the french fries are the best part of this restaurant. I paid just under $13 for a hotdog, a small fries, and a small drink. The food here is completely overpriced. read more

Ok, you got me. I'm not normally a fast food type of guy. I'm also not normally a burger and fries kinda guy. But this location of Five Guys is pretty darn special in my book. I can't speak for all of Five Guys locations, I've stopped here twice before heading to the great White North, a.k.a. Vancouver BC. It's right next to the northern Fred Meyer, tucked in a little corner by a cell phone and mattress discounter. After fueling up my vehicle, I decided to fuel up myself. This is my story. The atmosphere is clean and casual. I never saw a mess left by customers hang around for more than 5 minutes. They were prompt to clean up any- and everything. The customer service is off the charts at this Bellingham location. The cooks and servers were singing and hollerin', much like the fisherman in Pike Place market. On my first time there, they were kind and gracious enough to walk me through the ordering process. First time ordering: Bacon Burger with everything on it, with cajun fries. Second time: Hamburger with everything on it, plus unsalted fries. Burgers are juicy and tender. The free ingredients are a nice touch, and I especially love the roasted onions and mushrooms. The fries are made to order and very fresh. They're a big larger and more substantial than they fries you receive at other fast food restaurants. TIP: They also tend to throw in a few extra fries if you're nice to them! Word of caution: Cajun fries are SALTY! I had to drink at least a gallon of water afterwards to feel satisfied. Next time I had them unsalted, and while more manageable I would add a touch of salt next time. Or tell them to go easy on the salt. Solid four stars for a yummy affordable food with amazing customer service. Why go to McDonalds or BK when you can stop here? read more

Good food, but expensive. Two burgers and a fry (with no drink) came to $16. There are no combo meals. Add in that there's no drive thru, the parking sucks, and I don't think we'll be going here very often. The food itself is pretty decent. I like that the burger toppings are all included in the price (such as grilled onions, mushrooms, etc). read more

A friend of mine told me about this place last week & we went by and grabbed a couple of burgers. If you a fan of In & Out down in Calif. you will like this, its very much along the same lines and it looks like they even stole the red and white checked tile interior as well. The burger was good, fries were good too. I would suggest giving it a try. read more

I have been a big fan of Five Guys since they opened in Bellingham. A tasty burger and generous helping of french fries. When the restaurant opened the customer service was excellent. It's been a real favorite for my family, especially nights when I take my daughter. However, I've noticed over time the customer service at this location has really declined. Tonight, a Friday, was a notable low point. My mother and father has just flown into town. We met them for what we thought would be a quick bite. It's supposed to be "fast food" right? Things got off to a bad start. I stood in line for close to 10 minutes before one order was completed. I appreciate the relational style, but no order should take that long to complete. While waiting for one transaction to get completed the line grew and grew--12 customers deep. There was only one cashier on duty but 7-8 employees preparing food. This allocation of workers makes no sense. It makes for a total bottle neck. I asked if they had another cashier. The cashier smiled at me and ignored my question. I tried again. Finally a second cashier arrived. I was now 15 minutes into my experience and I was the third person in line when I arrived. After the food arrived, I settled into dinner with my wife and parents. We couldn't relax or have a conversation. The music was blaring what sounded like "death metal." An employee cleaning tables approached an adjacent table to clear. I asked if it was possible to play a different radio station. She curtly said "no". How is this "family friendly" music? How is this customer focused? Several minutes later the music genre changed to our great relief. Tonight's experience was so irritating, I will really think twice about going to this Five Guys again. The management seems non-existent and they have lost their feel for putting their customers first. read more

They don't have anything on In and Out's burgers. Not a bad burger, but pricey for what it is. The fries were decent though. I really the peanuts here though, they were totally yumm, and I don't even particularly like peanuts that much. read more

I have a feeling we'll be making more trips to Bellngham now that hubby knows that there's one here and it's actually easier to get to this one in another country than the one in West Van! The big plus about this location is the pricing... aah, the beauty of US pricing. The same items in Canada are marked up about 25%, so their ads for $5 burgers don't work unless you're in the US! Decent food and decent pricing. I love the fact that you pick your own toppings and the peanuts are a nice snack while you wait for your meal. I still like In N Out better, but until that expands to WA state, this will do! read more

Double patty!! Double patty!!! The "little" burger is one patty - you've been warned. I had a bacon cheeseburger with all the toppings and extra mushrooms. It is a splendiferous mound of beef, they should provide you with bibs! I didn't think much of their hand-cut fries, a bit too soggy and generously portioned, but I was amused to see the sign from which Idaho Farm it came from today. read more

Five guys burgers and fries how we love thee. So much so that while we had a incredibly long layover at the Bellingham airport on our way back from Colorado to Hawaii my wonderful husband walked to five guys and brought us some awesome burgers and fries back. I have such a wonderful husband. I sat with our luggage to avoid having to haul it (or maybe this was an excuse to be lazy and not WALK to and from)... Either way, my husband is amazing and as I saw him re-enter the Bellingham airport with the brown sack of goodness I added yet another reason to my list of reasons why I love him. We were so STOKED when we decided we were going to be going back to Colorado for a week because that meant the chance to have as many five guys burgers (and fries) that we could stomach the entire week (Ok, maybe a slight exaggeration), but what was even better was when we found out there was a five guys withing WALKING distance of the airport we had an 8 hour layover in - score! This five guys definitely did not disappoint. Awesome location and even better greasy goodness! read more

Good burgers, good service, great options. My only wish is that they had onion rings, but oh well. The bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions, mushrooms, and bbq sauce is the best. Note to Disabled: Reasonably accessible, has its own parking lot- but it's the Fred Meyer parking lot, so... Also, if you have a peanut allergy this is not the place for you. They stock huge, open boxes of peanuts in the dining area. read more

The Boy and I took my brother ("The Bro") here this past weekend for his first ever Five Guys burger. No line ups, tons of tables, food came fast. Same enthusiasum from the staff as the last time I visited. The Bro ordered the Double Bacon cheeseburger with the works which he entirely inhaled before I even had my first bite of my burger - mind you, in real time, that was 4 minutes after the burger was place in front of him. I guess he liked his burger. My double cheeseburger with double mushrooms and grilled onions was as good as I remembered it to be and it filled me up for the rest of the night. The Boy's Hamburger looked good - greasy, thick and super messy to eat - exactly how a burger should be like. One star off though, the fries were soggy this time around so we actually had to throw a portion of the fries away. Will definitely come back again.... read more

I wish I had read the other review before I ordered what I thought was a normal burger... TWO PATTIES?? Only ate half the monster yummy amazing burger.... Took my kids here during the annual back to school shopping extravaganza. What a great spot. Loved the selection of toppings (16 or so options). Fries were amazing and the burgers were top notch. Ballpark peanuts in boxes to keep children waiting for their orders amused is smart and appreciated. This location is in a strange little corner, but very clean and efficient. Husband didn't get to come along... and is still grumbling about the lack of a doggie bag... I guess we will have to make the trip again.... read more

We took the BF's kids here and we all shared the fries. The small fries. RIDICULOUSLY awesome. I'm just updating because I stil love their burgers. So soft and so good. I don't know how anyone can hate them. I love them so much, I dream in burger. read more

As a fan of the all american meal, there was very little chance that I would not like what Five Guys has to offer. That being said, there were a couple points that I would like to see improved upon. But first, the postives. These employees are friendly...really friendly! They greeted me with a smile and after I ordered, while I was sitting and waiting for the preparation, two different employees asked me if there was anything they could get me while I was waiting! I guess I'm just more used to the stereotypical, apathetic teenager who's just trying to earn a few bucks in order to be able to fill the gas tank. The burger was great, everything that I've heard about all the ingredients being fresh was true and I really couldn't have asked for much more. In several other reviews, I read that the parking situation sucked and I was actually pleasantly surprised that there were plently of places to park even though it was 6:30 on a Saturday evening. The only two negatives I could come up with are the obvious lack of some sort of a combo/value meal and the slightly higher than fast food prices. As a fan of fast food in general, I'm pretty used to paying $5-7 for a burger/fries/drink combo...but here it's all ala carte so my hamburger, regular sized fries and drink costed around $10. To be fair though, five guys is a half step up from fast food so the 50% or so higher price tag is probably justified. So after my first Five Guys experience, I would say that I was all in all impressed. The service and food was great! If they had combo meals and slightly lower prices, I pry would've given a 5 rating but when service and quality is this good, I really don't have a problem paying a few dollars more. read more

These guys went ABOVE and BEYOND providing exceptional customer service. Me and my partner came here to eat after driving from Vancouver. When we tried to pay for our order, my Canadian debit card did not work for some reason. My total was I think...about $24 and I only had $17 US on me cash (Couldn't put the difference on my debit). We were so disappointed and upset..we were about to leave when Aidan quickly went to his Manager and explained our situation. Aidan came back to us as we were walking out and let us know that they would make it work with with the amount of US cash we had! We were ecstatic! THANK YOU SO MUCH FIVE GUYS BELLINGHAM. Keep up the great work! read more

First time at Five Guys Burgers. It's like In N Out Burgers -- only better! Burgers are identical to In N Out except the burger has two patties and the little burger has one pattie. ALL toppings are free! Very rare to have 16 choices of toppings at no extra cost., I asked for mayo, lettuce, pickles, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, ketchup, mustard, and a dash of A-1 sauce. If you like peanuts this is the place for you. Free peanuts and the french fries are cooked in peanut oil. If you are allergic to peanuts don't go near this place. Excellent restaurant if you like a big old-fashioned burger. read more

was waiting for an uber eats order for over 30 minutes after the manager said it would only be an 8 minute wait. the bag of food was sitting for 20 minutes and they didn't call the order out and when i went up to ask them they grabbed that same bag and all they needed to do was put fries in there. but the fact that they didn't even call out the order or tell me it was almost ready really pissed me off. and everybody else that came inside and ordered got their food before me even though i was sitting waiting there for 30 minutes. read more

This place wasn't good for my arteries and it wasn't a bacon cheeseburger. If I had wanted to wait forty minutes for red meat I'd have gone to a steakhouse. If your grill output is, say, a burger a minute and you were already dealing with a larger unfilled take out order of 40 burgers, TELL the other customers in line --before taking their order that they are facing a long wait! We asked three times about the order status at 20, 30, 35-40 minutes after ordering and I eventually left. Customer service was poor. Should have comped this order or at least given a coupon or some acknowledgement of the ridiculous wait, not dismissing the situation with 'we are busy'. burgers are good, not In N Out tasty, but better than typical so called fast food, otherwise a one star would have been warranted. read more

BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! There was a problem with my order so I called and talked with Leah. She was so helpful and sweet and made my experience wonderful. Thank you Leah!! read more

The burgers are good tasting, like something you would grill yourself at home. However, for the price it is not worth it. They give you a ton of fries, but they are greasy, soggy, and will soon slime there way through the bottom of your paper bag. I actually enjoy greasy food, but at a more reasonable price. Also, they don't have any cold condiments, such as ranch, which is a big downside for me since it's one of my favorites. The staff is super friendly and fun, and there are free peanuts to eat which is a nice compliment. It is a bit loud, but I didn't go there for a quiet time of book reading. All in all, if you enjoy super greasy fries then you should go here. If you're looking for some nice cheap burgers, then look somewhere else. read more

Service is always fast and great and had always been! I got a plain cheeseburger, it was juicy on the inside and had a good cook on the outside. The fries ARE TO DIE FOR. they are cooked in peanut oil and are home made on the spot. Great place and always look forward to coming back read more

After hearing all the hoopla about Five Guys dethroning the "best burgers in America", In N Out Burger, I had to try it for myself. I see there are several locations here in Vancouver, BC where I live, but after checking out their menu, I chose NOT to visit a Canadian location. First, the prices up in Canada are anywhere from 30-50% higher for the burgers, and they don't sell any hot dogs. Really? It's not like there are a hundred items on the menu to begin with so it makes no sense at all that they don't sell the dogs. I went to the Bellingham location today and had the Little Cheeseburger, with a ton of toppings. While waiting for my order, I munched on the peanuts they offer. I do find that a bit odd, since it seems everywhere you go these days, you can't have peanuts because someone with an allergy might die. What's up with Five Guys? They're obviously missing out on a whole demographic by excluding the nuts with allergies. lol Five Guys tries to imitate the atmosphere in In N Out with employees yelling your order out and wearing aprons wrapped around their waists. Too bad they just don't seem to give out the same fun, energetic, groovy vibes that In N Out has. This place lacks ambiance. I got my burger in good time. The first thing that came to mind when I unwrapped my burger was Who sat on the bun?. It was as if someone squished the heck out of it. The bun was not too appealing in sight (I'll get to more of the bun later). My burger was larger than I expected and I have to admit it was very tasty. Probably because it was dripping with grease. In N Out burgers don't drip grease all over. It had generous toppings of grilled onions & mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, pickles. The bun, however, was like a big ball of dough. Yuck! Sure they fry/grill it so it's crispy on the one side, but the rest of it was just goo. It really grossed me out, not to mention the fact that it looked like goo and had the texture of goo. Not like a bun should be at all. I did not order any fries as I considered them to be a bit pricey. They should offer an even smaller size for some of us. When comparing Five Guys Burgers to In N Out Burgers, I have to say that they are both good in their own ways, but I still prefer In N Out. This place is ok if there's nothing else around. Be prepared to ingest a good cup of grease with your order. And yeah, they really need to get a drive through! read more

I found this Five Guys driving from Vancouver to Seattle and gave this burger joint a second chance. My first time was a Dulles Airport in DC but wasn't impressed. Anyway, some co-workers were having a debate between Five Guys and In & Out so I had to check it out again. I have no idea what the fuss is all about and there really is no comparison. It's a fatty and greasy burger with gross fries. read more

If you've been to five guys you know what the drill is. Some of the best burgers in town, great fries, free peanuts while you wait in line. lol The first time I walked in this place I was like what the Hell? I'm not sure if he still works there... read more

Pretty good burgers I like the unlimited toppings... I'm always really depressed they don't have ranch.

Fantastic burger made the way I wanted it! Love the sofa machine with an amazing amount of different soda options! It was a great lunch after a flight back from Vegas! read more

Why is this chain so popular? I didn't think the burger was that great, in fact, even with all the toppings it was quite bland. I wonder, do they give you so many fries to make up for the tastless burgers? read more

The service has gone down lately. Two times in a row i ordered Cajon fries and received regular (even tho I specifically told them the second time to check and they still made the mistake. Third time I ask the girl to make sure the were Cajon and she sort of replied slightly annoyed "Yes it's on the receipt". But the fries I received were not fresh as when I came in to pick up the online order, the whole order was ready (the fries are supposed to be cooked when you come in for it. But these were luke warm and I could tell they were not fresh. Two many new persons (and mostly kids now) who are not as good as the people who used to work here Update: They have now gotten the order wrong 4 times in a row. Not only that but the last time I placed a web order for two burgers which are supposed to be ready at the time you set, I came in, they said they'll drop the fries since they cook them fresh when you show up. So they cooked the fries, then threw them in the bag. The person finishing the order is about to give it to me, looks at the order and says back to the 5 people working, we're missing a burger. So now I have to wait another ten minutes. 6 people working and they forget 1 of the burgers. read more

These Guys are great!! The staff is super friendly and helpful, they all have a smile on their face and are very accomodating. A great family friendly restraunt, and the background banter and kitchen keeps my kids entertained. Due to allergies my family needs to eat gluten free. that means no buns :(.
