We were visiting from out of town and we had a very good experience at pizza king. The pizza was just your average pizza, but it was still good. The man that was working behind the counter was very nice and kind and provided great customer service. The vibe was a typical hole in the wall type of pizza place. They have very unique Indian flavor pizzas as well as traditional styles and flavors of pizza. We enjoyed it. Again, nothing special, just your average pizza, but still good. We are vegetarian and they have a large selection of vegetarian pizzas. They are open late hours as well, which was convenient. Whenever we visit Bellingham from Vancouver, we go to Mi Mexico! Every time we come here the staff is so friendly welcoming. We typically go for lunch and usually busy on the weekends. The decor is inviting like a warm hug with "my house is your house" feel. We always see all sorts for guests from families with kids to solo. Once you get seated, there will get a basket of homemade tortilla chip with salsa! They do have a lunch special menu and there are a lot of yummy items to choose from. The portions are huge which I can never finish my meal. My husband always order any with mole sauce, I typically order anything with corn tortilla. We don't consume alcohol but my friend said their margaritas are impressive and strong! read more

Stopped in here late on a Sunday night. They are open until 10:30, which is the good news. This is middle of the road Mexican food. Lots of rice and beans. Served a basket of chips and salsa right away. The chips were okay and the salsa was surprisingly spicy. Had the spinach quesadilla and a shredded beef taco. The taco shell was straight from the Pet brand taco shell box. The shredded beef was dry, dry, dry. Frankly, I've had better at Taco Bell (which I don't recommend, either). The quesadilla was small and smothered under sour cream and guacamole and stingy on the cheese. Some of the spinach tasted burned. I mean, it's hard to screw up a grilled cheese, but Mi Mexico tries hard at it. The quesadilla was surrounded by a sea of rice and beans. The rice was pretty salty and the black beans without any real flavor. On the side was the nastiest "coleslaw" I have ever had. Bitter. Not sure why it was even there. Raw cabbage would have been better. One of my companions had the chicken mole. The mole sauce was thin and tasted too strongly of cinnamon, which is a key ingredient of mole but not the main attraction. On the plus side, the service is quick and friendly. The decor is warm, ethnically correct and festive. The booths are deep and comfy. Now if the food matched service and decor, Mi Mexico would be a hit. read more

Salsa: really great, good flavor, not too much oregano, and big chunks of onion. Cheese enchiladas: fat cheesy and saucy, so so good folks, and the beans and rice were really delicious as well. My sister and I came in for dinner. We were greeted by a friendly staff member at the front desk, but things turned sour very quickly. Our server had a bad attitude, and this was noticeable before we even ordered. But right away, it was a red flag. Ordering my dinner seemed to go find until my food arrived. It wasn't what i had ordered. My server chose to argue with me that it was my fault. I decided to dig my heels in and have her explain her thought process. She finally fixed my order when I asked her directly to bring me the food that I asked for. It was a tense situation, and I let the manager know how we felt when we left. I haven't had a lot of authentic Mexican food to really comment but it is a very popular place. I enjoy my Taco Bell. Lol The platters are huge! Yummy fajitas were just the thing that was needed on that snowy week in January! I was in the area for work and was so glad I was able to get into the parking lot at MM so I could indulge in yummy Mexican food! We've been doing cross border shopping trips for years, and eating at the same places over and over again for years. Not that we don't still enjoy our old haunts, but with the advent of social media in its various forms, we're finally discovering some wonderful new places to eat at when we cross the border. After reading multiple reviews about Mi Mexico restaurant, we decided to give it a try. It's so close to the Bellis Fair Shopping Mall, I can't believe how long it's taken us to discover this place. On our table: Cheese quesadilla, Tamale and Enchilada Combo,and Veggie Enchiladas. We were served a basket of complimentary tortilla chips and salsa after we were seated. It's such a simple offering but this is often one of my favourite parts about going to a Mexican restaurant. Especially if the tortilla chips are warm when they're brought to the table! My Veggie Enchiladas were topped with a carrot puree. This is something new that I've never encountered at any other Mexican restaurant, and I do enjoy trying new things. Everything was delicious and even though my husband is a meat eater, it seemed like the refried beans were what impressed him the most. He enjoyed the beans so much, he ended up buying some refried beans to bring home when we went shopping in a supermarket later that day. Cheese enchiladas, rice and beans, and a cabbage salad. This is quintessential Mexican food, simple, and perfect. The thing I look for, are the beans. Are they smooth or lumpy, because they're supposed to be lumpy. These refried beans are lumpy nuggets of deliciousness. I think the hardest thing to do is to not overcook the rice. Which they didn't. I finally tried this place after six years of living in Bellingham. What a pleasant surprise! The inside is large and spacious, and all the servers are friendly. Parking is abundant at this establishment. The food are reasonably priced and delicious. They have a huge selection from their menu (i.e., burrito, carne asada, fajita, etc.). The staff here is very friendly, with good service. Check out the board when you enter for the special of the day. It was mole enchiladas ($10.50, usual lunch price $10.99) when I was there. The lunch menu (11am to 3pm daily) is definitely a better deal. The prices are $10.99-$12.50 for lunch. The place is quite big and I love the decors and muted desert colors here. Chips and house made salsa (quite spicy) are complimentary. I do not get that often now in Mexican restaurants, especially up in Vancouver, BC. I decided to get the mole chicken enchiladas and it was pretty good. Gooey melty cheese on the refried beans. It came with rice and coleslaw. It was very filling and I could not finish it and the chips. This was the first time I could taste chocolate in the mole. Then I read not all mole has chocolate, so I guess if you want a hint of chocolate in your mole, come here. Lots of parking in the plaza and out front. read more

The food was ok, nothing special. My kids love Mexican food but they didn't even finish their meals. I was hoping it was really good because of the reviews but it was just normal. I wouldn't go back. Biggest issue was the hair in our chips, when I let the waitress know she didn't even seem to care. She was like "oh ok" and grabbed the chips. No apology nothing. Disappointed but it's not horrible. Being from California I just have high expectations of what Mexican food should taste like. It's hard to find good Mexican food in Washington in my opinion. The best part was my drink. We were heading to our favorite Mexican place, which was sadly closed, so we stopped down the road at Mi Mexico. It is a big space with lots of families in and out. We did have to wait about 15 minutes before our server came to the table, but someone did drop chips so at least we were not to bothered. I ordered a large margarita, which came as a small, and my partner got the Cadillac which was pretty good. Both drinks were very sweet with not much tequila in my opinion. I got enchiladas and my partner had the burrito. Both lacked much flavor and my enchilada tasted like it was just cooked enough to be warm, but the tortillas were not cooked much through. The outside is not inviting, once inside though you find a nice family owned restaurant. I loved the decor and the quiet atmosphere. The server was great. I really enjoyed chatting with her. The queso was definitely not something I would try again. It was very watery, not cheesy and had a gritty texture. That's the end of the bad experience that I had. The rest of the food was amazing. Before heading to the outlets, we decided to make a quick pit stop in Bellingham for an early lunch. We'd decided the night before to try Mi Mexico. It's Tex mex style Mexican. We dropped in on a Friday (around 11:15am). It wasn't too busy when we first arrived but that changed when it was lunch time. The inside is huge and colourful. Service is very hospitable and our food came out incredibly quick (it took us longer deciding what to get). Like everything else here, the menu is massive; small and large combinations, chicken, fresh healthy choices, sizzling fajitas, meats, seafood, salad, eggs, burritos, enchiladas, tostadas, appetizers, soups, kids menu, lunch specials and supreme lunch specials. Lunch specials were the best deal and are available daily (11:00am to 3:00pm). - Chips and salsa - they bring out a complimentary bowl. Chip portion is jumbo American style. Salsa had a mild kick to it. - Chicken mole ($9.99 US) - braised chicken breast in a sweet and spicy peanut based sauce with a hint of chocolate. It came with rice, beans and coleslaw. The mole sauce was one dimensional (sweet); didn't get much else. Not much depth for a mole sauce. - 1 Enchilada, 1 chile relleno and 1 tamale (#23) ($11.99 US) - this was under their large combination option and came with the same side accompaniments. I liked the rice but was not a fan of the refried beans. Tamale was enjoyable; the masa was tasty but the shredded pork inside was slightly dry. The chile relleno was unexpectedly stuffed to the brim with cheese. Tasty. Last but not least, the enchilada with ground beef was decent. Wish they offered a sauce to go with it (red or green tomatillo). Portion sizes are huge, cheap and filling at Mi Mexico. Probably not coming back anytime soon but I see the appeal. read more

Actually did not enjoy this experience. I have been there before and found it really nice. Last night's dinner, not so much. My wife judges a restaurant by their carne asada. The dish she had last night, the steak was not marinated, and barely seasoned. Definitely not what she was expecting. I had the arroz con pollo, it was okay. It was pretty dry. This place is bomb! Reminds me of traditional Mexican restaurants I used to go to as a kid with a kind staff and tasty well priced food. Speaking of food, there are a lot of options to choose from and a decent drink menu as well. Service is always quick for chip and drink refills and the staff always have a smile on their face. Price wise you can't get much better than this. It's about average for Mexican food maybe a little but lower but what makes them stand apart is the extremely large servings that they provide for the price. You can easily take left overs home regardless of if you come in slightly hungry or starving. Overall, I'd highly recommend but expect the place to always be packed so it may find a few minutes to find a good spot in the parking lot. read more
