I had heard the rumors, and had to check them out. You must try them! By far the best chain burger I have ever had. They are going to have to get some green chile, wow, that would be awesome, jalapenos just don't cut it here. The fries were limp - I like them crispy - pretty salty, and the portion was almost too large. Very crowded and loud, but very dynamic. It's like just having tomatoes, lettuce, ketchup, and bacon (which I added) between to burger buns that fall apart. Fries are not that bad they do serve enough fries for 2 people. If you have nut allergies STAY AWAY! Shells litter the floor and there is no warning of this at the entrance (that I could find). Average burgers and greasy, half-cooked fries at a premium price. I'm happy that Five Guys decided to set up shop here in Albuquerque. I just wish the location was more centrally located. Plus, as pointed out before, getting into the strip mall location is kind of a pain in the ass. That being said, my first ever Five Guys experience was a good one. The line was pretty much out the door at 6:30 pm when my friend and I showed up, but the single order taker made the line move pretty quickly. We both ordered a cheeseburger "all the way" and were able to split a regular order of Five Guys style fries. The burger was really enjoyable. I was able to get it loaded with all the fixin's I would normally put on a burger at a backyard picnic. This doesn't really make the burger special, but it does make it good. There is nothing unique about Five Guys, unless you consider fresh, never frozen meat, potatoes, and burger toppings unique. Compared to the major fast food chains, Five Guys beats them all in taste, value, even in dinning experience. Sure, the place was packed and loud as hell when we got there, but that's what I expect from a popular chain fast food joint. I was very impressed with the speed in which I received my order. The burger was juicy, the fries were hot and crispy (albeit a wee bit over salted - especially the Cajun variety I brought home to the wife). Overall, I will be willing to make the moderate trek back to Five Guys. It's probably a good thing it's so far from the house, otherwise, I'd probably go a lot more often. I do think they need to have some green chile for their burgers. Since they can't really get that fresh roasted throughout the year, they would have to depend on a steady supply frozen chile. And frozen anything is a big Five Guys no-no. Therefore, I doubt they will add it to the toppings menu anytime soon. read more

This is a place for people who are hungry and want a juicy quality burger and not much else. There are fast food chains and no, you won't be impessed there, but if you don't mind waiting a few minutes for a quality burger you should skip the drive thru and come here. There are free roasted peanuts to snack on while you wait and a self serve soda machine that has a touch screen with multiple choices and added flavors for your favorite soda with free refills. Their fried potatoes orders are so big that they usually spill over into the bag. They typically serve two or more people. This place is an excellent quick lunch for those who have half an hour to dive into a great burger. Five guys is a place that does one thing, and it does it very well! read more

I give it 5 stars for the service. We came in on an unusually busy Wednesday. Just ahead of us a bus load of teens came in and just after a is a large group of Boy Scouts. Despite the amount of orders coming in the staff remained polite and totally on top of it. We watched them fill the orders as we waited and everything was prepared fresh. I was impressed with how the manager directed his team and stayed extremely busy helping where he could. Our food came out just as we ordered and was delicious. It's so refreshing to get this type of service. Thank you!! P.s. The manager working the dinner shift on 11/11/15 should certainly be recognized for his work ethic and management skills. read more

Yes it is a chain and yes it is located in a strip mall. however, the burgers are totally ruling as are the hot dogs. Kind of doing the "in n out" burger thing but with it's own twist. Give it a try , oh yeah and they have peanuts as well as a "Zagat" rating. read more

If you have never had the joy of walking into a Five Guys then I might as well say you have missed out on a small piece of Heaven. Any place that the standard burger is a double you might as well set up your tent and stay all night. When ordering don't forget to get your fries with Cajun seasoning, other wise you might as well pick up your brown bag and give it to the homeless guy around the corner. The place is always kept extremely clean so you can practically set up your picnic blanket and eat your burger off the floor. I will always recommend to friends and family. read more

I have to knock off a star for the location. The parking lot is too small for the number of businesses and access is limited to the very narrow and overcrowded Holly Ave. I'm complaining about access because I love this place and wish it were easier to get to. Burgers and hot dogs are insanely great; have as few or as many toppings as you like. The fries I would enjoy more if they were crispier, but that's a personal preference not everyone shares and they're pretty good anyway. I just wish you could convince them not to give you so many. I often avoid ordering them because I hate wasting them. So there. My complaints are: I can't come as often as I like and they give you too much food. Oh, and once when they were super-busy I got a burger with no meat. So the manager put my replacement order at the front of the line, and gave me a $10 voucher. I love this place. read more

I usually love five guys restaurant. Today I went to the one near Coronado Mall in Albuquerque. The smell of the sewer was terrible. People were eating food in there. I asked the cashier why it smelled so bad and she said she couldn't smell it. She said she would let her manager know. But she never spoke to anyone else that I saw. We actually ate our food outside in the wind and the sprinkling rain because the smell was horrible.Everybody was very hungry and I did not want to drive anywhere where else so we did eat our food outside. I've never had this happen before at this restaurant but it was very bad. read more

Food's fine, but pricey for 1 adult with 2 kids. One burger, two hot dogs, drinks and fries was $26. If they added some kid items, I'd be much happier. NO GREEN CHILE!!!! This isn't your typical fast food burger. There is an open kitchen, and the quality of the meat and ingredients is clearly above average. You essentially make the burger your way, choosing from a list of ingredients. If you know what you like on a burger, this place is going to hit the spot. The burger is just flat out delicious. Be warned that their serving size for fries is easily enough for two people. So split fries if you can. I'm bringing the rating down one star because I feel the food is a bit overpriced. I'd like to give five guys five stars, but it simply is not ground breaking food. Don't get me wrong, as a burger joint it excells. The fries are fresh, girthy, and delish. They even tell you were they're getting the potatoes. Not much to say about the hamburgers other then the toppings you could put on them are vast and free. No green chile though! I called five guys burgers on Paseo del Norte to put in a pickup order. They answered the phone, then asked me to wait. They put down the phone and left it connected on the counter for some time. When I tried to call back, I got a "disconnected or changed" message. HOW RUDE - If you don't want carry out orders called in, then don't advertise that you take them. Your burgers aren't that great that you can afford to be so rude and dismissive. Freddie burgers are right up the street. They were much more polite and accommodating. read more

Have been to Five Guys on two occasions, overall the food is good, nothing to spectacular but good, fries are good and they give you plenty, think the pricing is somewhat reasonable. Like I said I have been there twice but will be awile before I go back and the reason why is the place is too noisy that music they play is too loud, it is just to loud in there, when you go to a place to eat usually for lunch or dinner you want to kind of relax and wind down from work and most people would like a somewhat quiet place to eat, this second time I left there with a slight headache from all that miusic which was too loud. For the people who work there could probably have a lawsuit against Five Guys down the road for damage to their employees hearing from all that loud music. I am from California, and some people have said this place has burgers like In-N-Out...YOU HAVE GOT BE KIDDING ME! You'll will be very dissapointed if that's what you expect. The closest this gets to In-N-Out are the colors (Red & White) and that's all! Anyone that has had In-N-Out burgers knows these are not even close! The burgers are very blah!! Pathetic....I had a 1/2 hr. lunch and ordered a hot dog I sat and watched that dog burn on the grill while they completed at least 5 orders in front of me she goes to put the hot dog on the bun and prep has no bun so she throws it back on the grill to burn somemore tries it again still no bun so she throws it in the trash and starts all over again I sit and watch the second dog get burned up and finally decide this is ridiculous I got a refund and walked out. My second and last visit here!! It's a fairly large space, and today particularly was hot outside, so I figured since my son love the taste of the overpriced burgers, we'll just go inside and cool down and enjoy some time together. As we walked in I noticed we were the only ones in there, no other customers. I immediately noticed the heat in the building, when we placed my order I stated to the cashier it was hot, he said "we'll turn the ac on". Are you kidding me?!?!?! Do you know how long it will take to cool this size of a place down, needless to say it was hot for our entire visit, but dodo start cooking when we left, not to mention any conversation was unbearable do to the BLASTING song by blues traveler. Sorry but 25 bucks for 2 burgers, 2 drinks, 1 large fry, with all these mentioned "amenities", I'll pass and go down the road to chick-fil-a where it's cool and clean and fresh always for less of a cost. read more
